Not sure where you're from, but Amazon is also selling the AlienWare 25 240hz monitor for the same exact price brand new.
Edit: It's the AW2518HF model. I also haven't had my coffee this morning. Amazon is $329 NEW. Dell site is $273 refurb after discount as stated by u/thehippyjonny. Don't reddit before you're awake, people.
This one is pretty cheap
Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/
I personally have the PG258Q and I just recently turned g-sync off and I’m honestly not seeing any difference.
Edit: I’m able to play at 200+ fps in games so I’m not sure if this is the reason why there’s no tearing?
From appearances, these looks like a great deal. I am tempted, but i can't, so wanted to tell someone instead. 20 hours left on sale.
Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf, Full HD @ Native 240 Hz
So I recently upgraded my whole rig and I'm getting my new graphics card tomorrow and im super excited about I but my question is should I replace my old monitor? All my parts of my tower are new but the monitor is a monitor that came bundled with my parents old pc from almost 9 years ago.
Pc specs
Motherboard:ASUS ROG B350-F Ram:16GB Corsair vengeance LPX CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 2600X GPU:EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC Ultra
I was looking at This Monitor but its saying that it's For AMD cards on the Amazon listing will that cause any problems with my EVGA card?
Thanks for the reply! I’m not planning on using VR, as for the monitor, I already have one so we can exclude that from the price, leaving us with 600 or so left to spend, if you want more information on the monitor, here is a link to it on amazon, again, thanks for the help
Link: https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5
Looks like my b, I assumed the ips would be more expensive just because it was an ips with low latency. I bought this one (https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5). Looks like if it were in stock for Amazon it'd be $326 USD based on camelcamelcamel, I got it for $350 USD, so sounds like you got a real great deal!
Maybe a 1080p monitor with 240hz would suit you especially if you like playing csgo competitively.
Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf, Full HD @ Native 240 Hz, 16: 9, 1ms Response time, DP, HDMI 2.0A, USB 3.0, AMD Freesync, Tilt, Swivel, Height-Adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_i3ARDbG6ADQ69
you can crush most games with the 2080ti, check out the link
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zWsgDb9R75RV6 Alienware model. You could probably find others for cheaper that are used. Ignore the guy above, there are cheap 240hz monitors. Just depends on resolution and panel type. Wouldn’t recommend a 240hz tn monitor though. A 144hz ips monitor would probably be better.
Yeah I have been looking at Dell and Alienware gaming monitors and they are all TN. Maybe this one, but I have to be sure that the freesync will work with my nvidia gpu.
He has this monitor which could take advantage of it but he doesn't really care as long as he gets a Fortnite FPS.
Oh they might not be on sale right now then, when they are the s2716dg is usually $350-$400 while the s2416dg is like $300-340ish if I remember that correctly. Buying them used you can more than likely find them cheaper.
There is also this one that's on sale right now if you want to stick with 1080p but is a 240hz monitor
Yea I was actually just considering upping my budget and just getting a 240hz, the one you link doesn’t have any reviews though is the issue. What do you think of this one:
Alienware 25 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6tHKBbJ0RN9YX
If you have prime there's this
Dont know your budget or your use but, Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf is 313 on amazon right now. https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-AW2518Hf/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1527253866&sr=1-3&keywords=240hz+monitor
If you only play competitive games i'd get 240hz. Pros don't really care for g-sync so I would just get a freesync panel since its much cheaper. Screen tearing isnt a big issue wirh high frame rates. Something like this for the same price as the acer: https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-AW2518Hf/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524753730&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=240hz&dpPl=1&dpID=51R-faocHEL&ref=plSrch#nav-search-keywords
The AW2518HF is literally that price on Amazon right now.
Just get the alienware 240hz if you're spending this much.
Typically 24 inches is what most pros use at home :) but on NPL we use a 25 inch monitor from ALIENWARE which is this --> https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=alienware+25+inch+240hz&qid=1562913788&s=electronics&sr=1-1 but i recommend you get a 24 inch monitor from benq or something like that 144 hz at least :))!
I purchased an Alienware 25" 240 Hz monitor from Amazon Warehouse deals with this as the description: "Condition: Used - Acceptable - Large cosmetic imperfections on stand/wall-mount. Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged."
The display, the cables and the stand all had their manufacturer's plastic wrap on them. Not a fingerprint on the screen, all tape intact, all wrapping intact on the stand and the little cloth covering the monitor. Here are some pictures of the stand with its alleged "Large cosmetic imperfections," and the Alienware logo still having plastic on it which is pretty much how everything else was.
Amazon is Amazon, you should have no worries in buying anything from them, period. Amazon will come through for you pretty much all the time with a great product or a great refund process in the worst case scenario.
New on amazon, been this price for a while
https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5
Also for the monitor I would say either go for Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf, Full HD @ Native 240 Hz, 16: 9, 1ms response time, DP, HDMI 2.0A, USB 3.0, AMD Freesync, Tilt, Swivel, Height-Adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_czkTFb34E3QPM
Or
ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM 27” HDR Monitor, 1080P Full HD (1920 x 1080) Fast IPS, 280Hz, G-SYNC Compatible, Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB SYNC) 1ms, DisplayHDR 400, Eye Care, DisplayPort Dual HDMI https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0845QFDVM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_qAkTFb8PAREPE
That’s why I left 50 extra dollars so you can put that into a monitor that is around 400 which can run at 240hz :)
https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5 I spent a VERY long time looking for a good monitor and ended up with this one. Highly recommend. There's a freesync and a gsync version. It's great.
im getting this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0733YCKM5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 so i should get the 1.2 right?
The same seller has it on Amazon for $10 more, but with Prime shipping: https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-AW2518Hf/dp/B0733YCKM5
if you would rather deal with amazon, here is a link for the same price https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0733YCKM5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are so many that it's hard to recommend a specific one. I have the Alienware 25" myself. You can get cheaper than that in the Scepter 27" if you want. Your best bet is to query "Freesync Monitor" on Amazon and whatnot and see what comes up.
Right now, if you want to spend a little extra, Alienware’s 240hz monitor is only 333$ on amazon right here
Is this a good monitor or is it overkill?
Any reason to go with the ROG Swift over the Alienware which is currently heavily discounted?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0733YCKM5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=
Would this be a good option for 240hz? I mainly play fortnite (I know I know) So I can push some pretty high frames. This one is "freesync" though. What is the difference between freesync and gsync?
thanks
The left panel is 1080p 240hz (Alienware AW2518HF) and the right is 4k 60hz (LG 24UD58-B).
The arms are VIVO gas-springs (STAND-V001O)
if you want to be very competetive forget about VA and IPS
also check this you may like it

Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf, Full HD @ Native 240 Hz, 16:9, 1ms Response Time, DP, HDMI 2.0a, USB 3.0, AMD FreeSync, Tilt, Swivel, Height-Adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1AlbCbNSF9JAX

Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SmFKBbPF1S5QE
240hz seems like an incredible monitor with very good reviews
Push your budget up a little and go for the alienware 240hz, absolutely worth it for the bump in refresh rate https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-AW2518Hf/dp/B0733YCKM5
Hey so one more question lol. I found a 240 hz monitor at a really nice price I think? https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-AW2518Hf/dp/B0733YCKM5 Would the first rig you suggested be able to utilize the refresh rate? I'm getting a little greedier on the refresh rate, since it seems to not be too big of a price jump compared to the other 240 hz monitors alot of the csgo pros seem to be using which is the benQ Xl2540
If you have Amazon Prime, the Alienware AW2518hf is currently going for $313.

And the 144hz one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C05C1OK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
I play PUBG, Fortnite, and CSGO mainly right now.
Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor - AW2518Hf https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i5pJAb4AF2P82 they have a used one for 290 the 20 dollars more than you have might be worth it
Don’t buy a g-sync monitor if you have AMD. Find a Freesync monitor. The Alienware mentioned above is a nice monitor for the money. Hopefully you can spend a little more for it. I’ve had both the Alienware 25 inch and now the 34 inch. They are really well built and perform as advertised. The link to the 25 inch Alienware is here: Alienware 25 Inch, 240 HZ
Free Sync is AMDs adaptive sync technology and G-Sync is Nvidias adaptive sync technology. G-Sync monitors are usually $100-$200 more than an equivalent Free Sync monitor. G-Sync are obsolete now anyway as Nvidia officially supports Freesync as of January.
Sorry, i didn't understand when i read the 1st time, i would reccomend this for a 1080p monitor; https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3246PFHDHJXX&keywords=240hz+monitor&qid=1554106229&s=gateway&sprefix=240hz&sr=8-3 and this for a 1440p one; https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LC27JG50QQNZA-Curved-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B07FBNNWVV/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=27CXBGJ110GPT&keywords=samsung+27+inch+curved+monitor&qid=1554106374&s=gateway&sprefix=samsung+27+&sr=8-12
Alienware with free sync 240 hz 1080p 25 inch best monitor for that money. Edit* well it seems in amazon it's a little off your budget I guess https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-25-Gaming-Monitor-Height-Adjustable/dp/B0733YCKM5
