What is Reddit's opinion of Alstar 0.965" to 1.25" Adapter - Allow You use 1.25" Accessories on 0.965" Telescope!?

Ok, so that means it takes the older standard 0.965" eyepieces instead of the newer 1.25" ones. Since nobody makes quality 0.965" eyepieces anymore, I don't recommend trying to find them. You will likely come across a set of 20mm, 12.5mm, and 4mm HR/SR eyepieces which are truly awful. What you want is to adapt the scope to accept 1.25" eyepieces.

So there are two options:

1. Cheap: keep the current diagonal and buy a 0.965" to 1.25" adapter and then buy some 1.25" eyepieces. In this arrangement, you would keep the diagonal in the focuser, and then put the adapter in the diagonal, and then eyepieces into the adapter.
2. More expensive: buy that same adapter, and also upgrade the diagonal to a better quality 1.25" star diagonal. You would put that adapter into the focuser first, and then the new diagonal into the adapter, and then eyepieces into the diagonal.

As far as eyepieces go, I would need to know the telescope's focal length to make specific eyepiece recommendations (there should be a label somewhere near the focuser that shows the telescope's focal length). I would honestly not put too much money into eyepieces for the telescope unless you wanted some "future-proof" eyepieces that would go well with a future telescope upgrade. Then it would be worth buying nicer eyepieces now, and upgrading the scope later.
