I flattened a table top using this bit: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002DSVZG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The surface felt very smooth, but you could see that pattern. An hour or so of sanding got rid of that. And for whatever it's worth, that process got rid of some of the chip-out that my planer had done. Also, tiny depth changes, for me about 1/32 each pass.
