For real. I use Amazon Basics rechargables. I've spent a good 5 hours or so using them the last couple of days and they still show 100% in the device screen. I've used the same 4 batteries for the last year...

Hmm my AmazonBasics batteries are white with a green band, and seem to work fine so far.

These, but I think I paid closer to $1/cell than what they cost now. I guess they are only 2000 mAh, but all that costs is changing them out 20% more often. Not a big deal.

According to the reviews, the white label ones are the eneloops.

I have both Eneloops and the Amazon Basics. Almost exactly the same.

Be careful of which ones you buy though. It used to be that the white wrapper was equivalent to the regular Eneloops, and the black wrapper was equivalent to the "Pro" (high-capacity) Eneloops.

They changed the colors a year or so ago. Now, the white wrapper is junk. Black wrapper is equiv to regular eneloops. Grey wrapper is equiv to Pro. I would buy the black wrapper unless you really need the high capacity and are ok with them dying sooner.

Check out the Amazon brand rechargables. We finally switched to rechargables this year and I can't believe I was afraid to do it before. I was always afraid they wouldn't last or the slightly different voltage would cause mic issues, but they worked perfectly. No more guilty conscience over the boxes of quarter-used alkalines!

I use eneloops, and also am happy with the AmazonBasics ones.

I actually have exactly that setup running a little weather station on my front deck -- but it's a solar panel like this and 4 of these AAs with just a schottky diode running an AVR and an ESP8266 -- and for like $15 in parts, it works great. I've been monitoring the current and voltage and it's been fine so far, though I suspect by summer it will start overcharging a bit since the panel is like C/6 in full sunlight or something. It's shaded in the morning. I guess I'll have to either tilt it north, build a fancier controller, or just accept that my $5 of AAs will die young.

These are the ones I have, Probably just an Eneloop rewrap. I usually get at least a weeks worth out of 1 charge

For the record, at this point other manufactures make very comparable batteries, sometimes at a savings. For instance, twice as many batteries for $5 more, and by almost all account right on par with Eneloops.
