Are you sure you can't request anything? - you never know they may already have something in storage from a previous employee.
Get the top of the monitor to eye level. Monitor stands aren't hugely expensive, and if work aren't willing to provide for your internship could you supply your own? Amazon basics for £15 for example. https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-DHMSA-Adjustable-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00X4SCCFG/
Even with my raised desk (originally on some desk rising bricks, now a height adjustable one) and monitor stand I still need to have a old book on top of the monitor stand to get the screen to a sensible level, I also have the mousepad on top of a thin book as the (ergonomic) keyboard is high enough but the mouse lies too low.
That does remind me that years ago in a shop I worked in I was allowed to raise the till keyboard on top of a broken pack of 5 VHS tapes!
Oh, and failing everything else - get out at lunch and move around - going for at least a 30 minute walk at lunch time helped me loads.
This is great but I have the one recommendation of getting something like this to take some stress of your Xbox
well, if you want something a little sturdier or more aesthetically pleasing amazon has this monitor stand:
https://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DHMSA-Adjustable-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00X4SCCFG?sa-no-redirect=1
otherwise, I'm sure if you look around the web or on furniture stores like ikea you can probably find something cheap enough that meets your needs.
To add on about the keyboard and mouse: you have to reach over your entire notebook to type/scroll currently.
It appears that desk has a keyboard tray, maybe store the (potentially wireless) mouse/keyboard there and only pull it out when you arent writing.
Raising the screen a few inches helps, they sell little shelves for this that you could scoot your notebook or other items under when not in use so you can bring it closer, such as this
Note that if you raise the laptop up, you will almost certainly want an external keyboard.
Honestly I think a larger (24-27in) monitor will help a lot since it means you can see from further away without leaning in. Id check Goodwill/thrift store for something larger and get an adapter (usbc to hdmi for example) the goes between your laptop and the screen. I wouldnt pick anything too big or it wont fit, and don't get anything too expensive since it could take a few bumps or spills in that sort of placement.
Just got mine in yesterday. Its pretty awesome, its wierd getting use to the curve though not 100% sold on it yet, It sits pretty low so I got this monitor stand
aye you can't keep your pc on carpet, gonna choke the power supply, here's a link to a little stand i found on amazon.

Sorry for the slow reply, been busy with work. I myself use this exact Amazon Basics monitor stand to put my desktop PC on top of: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Adjustable-Computer-Monitor-Riser/dp/B00X4SCCFG/
I don't own an Alienware desktop, just a few Alienware laptops. So I don't know if that would fit your Alienware desktop. It sure fits my mid-size ATX tower gaming rig just fine though. It's sturdy as well.
Ergonomically speaking, a laptop screen sits too low for your field of vision.
Ideally, sitting naturally, your field of vision will be in the top third of your screen. A laptop sits too low for that. Use a monitor riser like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X4SCCFG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details to keep your eyes, head and neck aligned.
Sometimes also called a monitor stand: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-DHMSA-Adjustable-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00X4SCCFG
I used to use fat old textbooks.
Then I'd suggest you to get a monitor riser (you can get nicer ones, that's just an example), it's usually made so that a keyboard can slip under the monitor but you can probably fit your laptop in there
A better solution would be one of these but you would have to drill a hole in your table because it's against the wall
Ok, let me clarify.
I can't fit 4 DAC/Amps, I can fit 1 DAC and/or Amp, and I want to feed inputs into that DAC/AMP setup as allowed. I'd also really like a front-facing volume control because not all of these computers can be natively changed from the OS (Retropie).
Monitor Risers in question: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Adjustable-Computer-Monitor-Riser/dp/B00X4SCCFG
So questions:
I think my preference is running a USB KVM switch into the shared DAC/Amp, but then I run into exciting adventures in 7-OS compatibility and am wondering if you have recommendations here both in parts and also "Don't plug your DAC into a powered USB 3.0 hub".
My secondary preference is probably replacing the Dragonfly with *waves hands* something else, then running all 4 of those through the Little Bear into an amp that can power the new headphones. And in that case, what are "something else", the amp, and the new headphones?
In the case that it doesn’t, you could get a monitor stand and just raise the tv up.
Nah, I dunno much about single monitor stand. Most people that go for VESA mounts usually go for it when they have multi monitor setups or want to wall mount. Wall mount is cheap but the monitor stands otoh are expensive (over 2k). Your next best bet is to do the book or old magazines stack trick or get one of these:
