Do not under any circumstances get a HDMI adapter .. that is for video out only and the quest doesn't do anything with raw video .. that wont work.
All you need is a usb A to C data cable instead of the official C to C data cable.
Just search is Amazon or somewhere for something like this ...
I just got an oculus quest 2 and don't have much experience with VR, but I have no issues with latency or clarity and I play games exclusively through Oculus Link and SteamVR.
Make sure you get a decently long cable and you're set. I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7N96FL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just because I don't think enough people post their proven-compatible cables, here are mine:
Amazon Basics 10' USB-A to USB-C Cable (any color will work): [link]
CableCreation Active USB Extension Cable Long 16.4 FT, USB 3.0 Extender Male to Female Cord with Signal Booster: [link]
The extender doesn't need any power at all and works just fine. I get 26.4 feet of cable, which is plenty even when using ceiling pulleys.
Yes, and I use it almost every day. I also use the Amazon Basics cable ([link]) as a backup, and it works just as well.
There are no good cables that are over 3m in length and you will be stuck with using that along with an active extension cable.
If I was you I would start with a 3m cable on its own and once you know it works great with your setup I would introduce an active extension.
For a 3m cable you can use the Amazon basics cable .. many people have it including myself and it's a great cable , link here ... But it seems it's sold out at the moment , will link another that is supposed to work and is stock below the amazon one.
Actually this gold Amazon basics one is in stock...
What cable did you get? I got this one it doesn’t seem to work, which I’m really disappointed by but I’m looking for one that does
