The bundle of connections all together are the ones on the motherboard. The XFX card at the bottom is an addon graphics card, which takes priority for the computer's video output when it's plugged into the motherboard.
From the top going down and to the right, you've got
And then below all of that, you've got a nice XFX video card with 3 of the ports blocked off for god knows why. The HDMI port down there is what you'd connect your monitor to.
The guy who linked the Amazon HDMI to DVI cable is the correct cable. They sell one at Best Buy for $35. DON'T spend $25 extra for no reason. I would suggest spending the $6.99 on amazon and doing Prime Today for $2.99 instead if you have amazon prime or know someone who can order you that cable on Prime Today. Give em $10 later.
The back of your monitor has the blue (VGA) and white (DVI) connections probably.
EDIT: Not to confuse you, but I see some people on here are questioning the cable with a lack of knowledge on their part. DVI-D to HDMI is a bi-directional cable that works going either direction, so it doesn't matter if it's advertised as a DVI to HDMI or HDMI to DVI in this instance. Just as long as it doesn't say DVI-I or DVI-A you should be fine. The amazon one is fine.
I used this exact card for a friends budget Gaming pc and it works great. 80-120FPS On Fortnite with his G4560. Had him buy this DVI to HDMI cable adapter on amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Input-Output-Adapter-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
Some monitors have HDMI ports on the back. If yours does, I think you know what to do from there. If not, your monitor should have a DVI port on the back. I have a simple adapter that I bought on amazon that you can buy for about $5.00-$7.00.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4iQyybG3GQ7CK
So, by far, your easiest bet is going to be a DVI to HDMI adapter.
On that motherboard, that is a DVI-D port, which means that it does not carry an analog signal that could be adapted to a dsub connector, but that's fine.
It is a single link DVI-D port, which means that it can do 1920x1200 @60Hz, which, well, 1080p is 1920x1080, so a basic monitor will work, but don't expect something like a 1440p display to work on that port.
Still, something like https://smile.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY?th=1 should do the job well enough.
i think my comment got deleted. but i just checked it out and it does have dvi as well, my card doesn’t, but i could get one of these instead of the the vga one?
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY (hopefully the link works this time lol)
And don't stick out any more than the PL-259 attached to the SO-239.
They do work in both directions. I use those cables and adapters all the time with my older computers, and I was actually just using an HDMI monitor yesterday connected to a DVI port. Here's an example of one of those cables. The product listing specifically calls out that it's bi-directional.
Why didn't you get an HDMI to DVI-D adapter? VGA adapter sounds like totally the wrong thing to use and its only going to reveal the resolutions it's programmed for...
1) use Amazon 2) read reviews 3) verify adapter specs 4) HDMI to DVI-D.
HDMI to DVI is just a straight cable. HDMI to VGA includes electronics.
https://smile.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY/
Gotcha, that's what I figured! That guy is just called DVI for short.
HDMI and DVI will use the same video signal, the only difference is that HDMI carries audio, while DVI does not. It won't be an issue if they are not using the monitor for sound output. You should be able to get either an adapter or an HDMI to DVI cable like this https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi&qid=1632413970&sr=8-3
Then its a huge possibility that it only works when your GPU would have DVI port and your monitor a HDMI port aka DVI to HDMI and NOT HDMI - DVI
When you have a DVI Connector on your Monitor like this one get something like this.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=sr\_1\_3?\_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=DVI-HDMI+Adapters&qid=1623100369&s=pc&sr=1-3&ts\_id=3015395011
It will work up to the max resolution/refresh rate that DVI bandwidth supports, which I think is going to be 1080 @ 60.
Also, keep in mind DVI does not support audio. If you want sound you need to break it out, or use a different output from the computer.
Is this what I would need to connect modern HDMI devices to a Sony HD CRT with a DVI input (HS models)?
The HDMI adapter has the HDMI part plugging into the DVI port on the graphics card then the DVI part on the adapter plugs into a DVI cable going to the monitor's DVI port.
This one is a cable that does it all: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
I Have a 750ti and 2 monitors right now like you i only have 1 HDMI. I use this, it varies in length you could either go with a short 3 foot one all the way up to 25 feet!
(Have 2 lg 25um56-p's and using the HDMI for one and DVI for the second)
If your new display doesn't support DVI or Displayport inputs, just grab one of these on Amazon or a nearby shop.
I have my main screen connected with the straight HDMI, but it doesn't matter. I'm using the DVI-HDMI cable that came with the ASUS monitor I bought a few weeks ago.
I've had good luck with Amazon Basics cables in the past, and they have one for a reasonable price: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Input-Output-Adapter-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/
Sorry, the photo is what's on my computer. My monitor has an HDMI and a VGA (I believe) port. I just found this on Amazon, would that work do you think?
If you're talking about this cable, then that won't work either since it only supports single-link (up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz) like every other adapter I've seen. I'm not sure how you're getting 1440p 60 Hz. Does your monitor somehow support that on single-link DVI?
Make sure you get the right length.
Can I ask what you intend to do with the PC as it seems quite expensive at nearly $1200 and I'm sure I could find a better deal.
The Dell is the U2715H and the Monoprice is an IPS Zero G # 10509. The Monoprice (the problem monitor) is connected via this HDMI to DVI cable from Amazon. The graphics card is an nVidia 2080Ti. When it was connected to my Mac there was an Apple converter box in between the computer and monitor.
$7 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY
You want to use the dvi port at the bottom of that picture. It's Dvi-D so only does digital output, you could use an DVI-D to HDMI cable like this one
> VIZIO E320VP
Has VGA and two HDMI

>ASUS VH242H
Has VGA, DVI, and HDMI

Just get a HDMI to DVI cable and connect it to the HDMI port on either monitor depending initialization order.
Example: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
That way two monitors have their HDMI ports used. DVI and HDMI port on GPU used. Hopefully this allows you to configure everything to work better.
Note: Other ports on the GTX 1060 are probably displayport.
If there are bent pins, then yes that is the issue. Either replace the adapter or get an HDMI to DVI cable. They are about $7 (US) on Amazon. See this link.
You could get a cable like this one or an adapter from amazon for your monitor.
Least expensive option would probably be a dvi to hdmi adapter
Something like this should work
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_XY.DFbNTPBMKT
AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable, Black, 6 Feet, 1-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_N7UtFbH66N1KJ
Less than $10, right here. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY?th=1
adapter is basically a cable/device which has one type of connector on one end, and different one in the other. Basically converting from a-to-b.
eg. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY
https://www.newegg.com/samsung-s23a700d-23-full-hd/p/N82E16824001537
According to this you have an HDMI connection.
If not...
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY
HDMI and DVI are signal-compatible, you should just be able to use a simple cable like this
This is the cable I bought and currently used for same exact reason.
Thanks, I keep that in mind. I'll be trying out the Display-Port cable first, but maybe I'll change it to HDMI / DVI if I have any problems:)
I have a 5770 in Mac Pro 3,1 and the HDMI to DVI cable works fine. I hate stacking adapters.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You can try a DVI-HDMI adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY
You just need the right cord or adapter, https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY?th=1.
also you are damaging your cords when you stretch them like that.
if you have a DVI port - you can use this adapter cable to connect your pc to your monitor. -> https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY/
It is the geekworm v15. As for the adapter this is what I am using
Amazon Basics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable, Black, 6 Feet, 1-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_SBAF91QXR21H4ETZFV1M?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
oh and this is the cable you need - https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY/
You can go for a full cable like this:
Amazon Basics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable, Black, 6 Feet, 1-Pack https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_QZZBRNPR7ETP3NN2DS11?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Or an adapter (requires std male-to-male HDMI cable):

Buy a DVI to HDMI cable like this one - https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Adapter-Cable-1-Pack/dp/B014I8UQJY
Okay, sorry for the slow response.
You’ve got three outputs: HDMI 2.0b, DVI-D, DisplayPort 1.4.
Any passive DVI to HDMI cable will get your HDMI monitor running if it’s just 1080p 60hz (actually I think it’ll do up to 1920x1200 60hz), example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/
The DisplayPort connector is good for quite a bit more bandwidth (high refresh, 8k displays, vr headsets, or multiple monitors via daisy chaining) BUT adapting it to HDMI requires an active retimer chip which tends to be the limiting factor —be careful as many will only do 1080p 60hz like the DVI adapter. Ones labeled “4k” will typically do 4k@30hz, 1440p@60, or 1080p@120hz like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WD75HCD/
This adapter can do 4k@60hz and high refresh 1440p or 1080p Active DisplayPort to HDMI Cable 4K@60Hz HDR, CableCreation 8FT Unidirectional DisplayPort to HDMI Monitor Cable, DP 1.4 to HDMI Support 4K@60Hz, 2K@144Hz, 1080P@144Hz, Eyefinity Multi-Display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082CXMBCQ/
There are others than can support . But I think 8k monitors that don’t support native DisplayPort 1.4 for 60hz refresh are probably pretty rare, and the adapters start getting expensive.
So DP to HDMI won't work because you need HDMI to DP.
The easiest solution will be a HDMI/DVI cable. That change is bi-directional in your case since the display is 1080p60. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
You can do HDMI to DP but it is more expensive and not really a benefit in this case: https://www.amazon.com/Displayport-Adapter-BolAAzuL-Converter-Graphics/dp/B08DRFGFKJ

I had a GTX 1080 at the time and used HDMI to it.
It really just depends on what the monitor supports you are connecting to the cpu. You could use the following with the white port:
Dvi to hdmi cable: Amazon Basics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable, Black, 6 Feet, 1-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ECK2MZGKQ6CYDKCK4AJ3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Dvi to displayport: Amazon Basics DisplayPort https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014RWWURC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_imm_D4HS3FMMS1QZSEV87DKM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Something like this should work.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
40? Where did you find that? :)
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
Do you have any information on the adapter you are using now?
Just get a cable like this and you're golden if it can output 144hz via dvi.
A cable like this is what I'm talking about https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=pd_lpo_23_t_0/132-8591518-5537947?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B014I8UQJY&pd_rd_r=0be9cfee-0f02-43e2-b5aa-1d45879ad50c&pd_rd_w=N78h6&pd_rd_wg=Ixci5&pf_rd_p=7b36d496-f366-4631-94d3-61b87b52511b&pf_rd_r=BBKCXQ3VTRKVKRMV6YD0&psc=1&refRID=BBKCXQ3VTRKVKRMV6YD0 You would hook HDMI to console than DVI end to your monitor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_1Y2QFbXQB097H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 looks like you’re in luck. It won’t be a very good solution it’ll be running at the PS3’s native resolution but it should technically work
Well, Amazon has this. I don't know how much shipping is, but I doubt it's 10$.
What HDMI to DVI converter did you buy? The DVI to HDMI adapter angle is best pursuing. I'd buy a cable though like this one: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Input-Output-Adapter-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
That VGA adapter should not be sold without a compatibility list on the amazon listing. :( Whatever that adapter is compatible with, should have used DVI-I on the connector instead of DVI-D. (DVI-D vs DVI-I)
If you do buy a displayport thingy, I'd suggest getting an active adapter. Like this
If you want the cheapest, you can grab one of the monitors with DVI, then buy a $8 CDN DVI to HDMI adapter.
Although the cheaper monitor is 21.5", while the others are 23".

I have this exact same monitor.
You do need to have your connection through the DVI connection to run 144Hz.
However, you can get a cable that has HDMI on one end and DVI on the other if needed. I used this cable from my laptop to my monitor while building my current setup
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B014I8UQJY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If use HDMI -> DVI , or HDMI -> DP cable or converter still the same ?
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
Or this
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-Display-Adapter-Cable/dp/B015OV4Z0A
> I know you can’t take a DVI output on a card and plug it into and HDMI input on a display.
um, you absolutely can.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Adapter-Cable-Latest-Standard-Black/dp/B014I8UQJY
OK the laptop has HDMI and the monitor has digital DVI, so this should do the trick.
Hey guys, I have an AOC monitor with only DVI D output and it's time to upgrade my R9 390. Will a cable like this work to avoid purchasing a new monitor as well?
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2/133-5090824-5109914?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B014I8UQJY&pd_rd_r=c8043a5e-e0fb-4056-8ed5-be4468276ba5&pd_rd_w=tRl7y&pd_rd_wg=EgTs0&pf_rd_p=ce6c479b-ef53-49a6-845b-bbbf35c28dd3&pf_rd_r=YAM3Z1RP1KQCCC8CSCWP&refRID=YAM3Z1RP1KQCCC8CSCWP&th=1
Then get an HDMI to DVI cable and plug the Kamvas into the HDMI - problem solved.... :)
Cable: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/
Or use your own HDMI cable with a adapter: https://www.amazon.com/DTECH-Female-Adapter-Bi-Directional-Converter/dp/B07MJDYH21
You can buy a cable that is hdmi to dvi like this https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY#:~:text=The%20cable%20will%20even%20connect,-theater%20entertainment%2C%20and%20more.
Honestly I would just buy a new PSU at that point given how you lost a cable and it not being a great PSU.
You could contact Seasonic but I doubt they have any given it is a 10 year old PSU that is now out of production.
You would likely need to order a set of sleeved cables but that would easily exceed the value of the PSU and will put you in mid range PSU territory (high end if you can find one for a normal price). If you need just a PCI-E cable you may be able to find one on its own.
Grab a Amazon basic one.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
I'd get a Ryzen 5 2400G (honestly you could also get by with a 2200G but you have the budget for this), get a B450 Tomahawk and the CPU from Microcenter (CPU $120, motherboard $115, less a $30 discount when purchased together), 16GB of fast RAM, a 1TB SSD (see this for pricing), a blue-ish case, and a 450W PSU should be more than enough. As for video output, the Tomahawk has one HDMI and one DVI port and your monitors have an HDMI and a VGA port, so one of your monitors will need a DVI to HDMI cable like this.

> I'm honestly surprised that my monitor has VGA, DVI,
There are HDMI to VGA or DVI cables!
You dont need an expensive adapter with those. Although they wont carry an audio signal.
HDMI only recently stepped up their game with v2.0 and 2.1. which substantially increased its bandwidth for stuff like 4k+ resolutions and high refresh rates.
Display port has had that kind of bandwidth for almost a decade now. So it was the obvious choice for PC monitors.
Yes, there are DVI to HDMI adapters/cables available (Amazon, etc).
If you have DisplayPort on your GPU I would go with that over HDMI though: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DisplayPort-DVI-Adapter-1920x1200/dp/B0017K6BD2
