Drywall anchors are the things I was thinking of, they supposedly hold 75 lbs each if there's no stud available.
P.s. I got wall mounts for super cheap on amazon and it came with drywall anchors

I've been really happy with this wall mount: Articulating Wall Mount
No vertical adjustment, but that's not something I ever used, and you don't have to worry about sagging! Mine has been rock solid.
Can you move the speakers down? Maybe laying them on their sides behind the monitor would make for a better soundstage?
Ergotron HX with the HD pivot is the only desk mount I'm aware that will handle the load. I wouldn't recommend any other.
You might want to think about TV wall mounts if cost is the concern. Make sure they use 100x100 VESA mounting pattern and have a higher weight capacity. You can select a mount that is either fixed or adjustable. The main thing is to focus on the weight capacity. Something like this for an adjustable mount is rated for 80 pounds. The only drawback for TV mounts is that the mounting plate is larger so you might want to trim it down if it extends beyond the monitors height otherwise it might be seen, however, it's only cosmetic in nature.

I used an Amazon Basics wallmount. It's rated for TV's so handles the weight perfectly fine. It's extremely sturdy even when you pull it away from the wall at the arm extremes. Does the job perfectly. Just keep in mind there's no vertical adjustment. No up and down. There is tilt though.

So I want to mount the G9 to free up space and I know almost everybody recommends the Ergotron Hx for desk mounting. How flat up against the wall can the can the Ergotron get and how low to the desk can it go.
For wall mounting would a regular tv mount like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KBEOL5E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_P6YNZSF78WV7MRPM3ZKB Work?
Amazon basics. It's a TV Wall Mount, rated up to 36KG. The G9 is 14.1KG without the stand.

Is that outlet junction box attached to a stud running down the middle? If so try something like this
Or get a regular mount and use lag bolts to a single stud and use toggle bolts on the sides. They should hold up a 55" TV.
You should be able to drop the TV a little lower.
Some of the articulating tv mounts have a tall and narrow mount to the wall, and because the mount moves around you can position the tv a bit more ideally despite where it’s mounted. Something like this:

Try one of these. You can run a cable down and not bother the landlord.
I don't have my G9 yet (should be here by the end of the week), but I bought and installed this for the current monitor (Z35p) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KBEOL5E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I will mount the G9 to this and have seen others in this subforum use it.
Yeah mine looks different, I got the amazon basic mount…will that work?

Amazon Basics Full Motion... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KBEOL5E?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Would this work too?
This is an example of the kind of mount I was referring to. This in itself is fine. It is when you are trying to use drywall heavy duty anchors where I ran into issues despite the fact that that they were rated for 75lbs. I had a rather heavy monitor that was fine while it was close to the wall but when I tried to pull it out from the wall so I could angle it to show someone something, the additional weight pulled it right out of the wall. I used multiple anchors
They are standard monitor wall mounts, but the top monitor needed a custom adapter because I just didn't feel like the vesa screws that came in the box were sturdy enough. The last thing I need is one monitor falling on the other and all of my peripherals along with whoever might be at the desk.
Here is the Amazon link for the mount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KBEOL5E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Something like that may do the trick. That is simply a quick amazon search, I do not endorse the product.
