I would add a laptop stand which hold your laptop next to your monitors? takes up less space and lines the laptop up with the other monitors! They are on amazon here! Besides that maybe some cable sleeves for wires as well! but seems nice!
For those here that just have one monitor (for now) that they want to get off their desk plus maybe a laptop: there are VESA mount copatible laptop trays that you can attach to one of the arms.
I was looking at mounts that come with a tray until I saw that you can take off (or not mount to begin with) the laptop tray if you want to use them for two monitors. Those cheap ones (with the pipe to clamp the arms on) range between $25 and $50, but there are a lot of people complaining that they had to torque the bolts on the arm clamps into oblivion to make their monitors stay in place. So, I decided to go with this one instead and buy a laptop tray.
On the left is a a laptop mount Amazon Link which I have attached to a single arm adjustable stand.
On the right is a standard laptop stand we get from work. It’s pretty crappy and is designed for old skool think laptops.
Is this compatible with AmazonBasics Notebook Laptop Stand Arm Mount Tray ?

That one, pretty cheap at 20 bucks. Instead of buying the arm mount attachment I just bolted the tray on the wall. It was kinda a pain/awkward to do it was the only thing I could think of since I have limited desk space.
This is the one I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010QZD6I6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The arms that stick out to hold onto the bottom didn't stick up high enough to securely hold on to bottom, so I had to make some extensions for it.
So I know this is a little bit old but, is the laptop on the monitor arm?
EDIT: Ok, let me guess, is it the Amazon Basics Notebook Arm Mount Tray?
That's so awesome, I've never seen those before, I may end up using this in my setup!
SETUP * Maxed-out 15-inch MacBook Pro (2016) * Screen Saver * Widgets manager for MacBook's Touch Bar * Apple 27-inch Thunderbolt Display * Apple Wireless Keyboard * Magic Trackpad * EcoPad - Fast Wireless Charger * Amazon Basics Notebook Laptop Stand Arm Mount Tray * Amazon Basics Premium Single Monitor Stand * OWC 14-Port Thunderbolt 3 Dock * Maxonar Thunderbolt 3 Cable (2 m/40 Gbps) * Bene desk and chair * Mouse hp
At work I've got a Rain Design mStand that elevates my macbook to the same height as my work desktop's screens. Then I use Synergy on both computers to use my mouse and KB on the macbook as well.
The gap the mstand creates by elevating lets me put some paper files and folders between the stand, which saves me some desk space.
At home, I have a triple display VESA mount. Before building my desktop and getting new screens, I used two screens on it and the third hardpoint housed a laptop tray. Mine was "Ergotron", but Amazon sells the exact same design under its own line. Then I just hooked up a mouse and keyboard to the macbook via a usb hub.
DO use a laptop stand if it ergonomically benefits you.
I very rarely use the laptop keyboard, I choose to use a mount arm and tray over leaving the lid closed so that I would not completely lose the function of the touch bar while also utilizing it as a 4th screen.
This laptop tray though:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010QZD6I6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the exact laptop mount I'm using. I like this one alot as opposed to all the other mounts availible as this one requires not other clips, or the tray was not bigger than the laptop, this is the most minimal mount. One super small grip is that while I can close the laptop on the trap, the rubber feet at the bottom of the tray curves up JUST a tiny bit so that it blocks the closing of the laptop. Its not too bad, where if I apply a bit of force it'll close, and I am not damaging anything at all. Its just an extremely minor little hump when closing it.
Invest in monitor arms to free up desk-space and if you're shopping for a desk, get a tape measure to see how big of a disk you really need.
I'm not personally recommending this desk, but to give perspective on size this is the desk i used for 2 dual displays + a laptop. (24inch and 20 inch monitors on a single post display arm). The laptop was also on a monitor arm because of the webcam built into it.

It's just a monitor arm with an adapter to hold a laptop. Like this:

>what is the laptop arm in the last pic?
Basically, I combine two items to make the laptop arm. It's a combination of two things: a regular monitor arm with an additional laptop attachment. Specifically, it's the AmazonBasics Notebook Laptop Stand Arm Mount Tray (link) and the HUANUO's VESA monitor mount (link).
It's an extravagance—being that it's basically holding a laptop open and out of the way and off the desk—but it gives me more square inches for the rest of my desk.
Also, with the inbuilt webcam, it's another angle for a webcam should I ever need or want it.
My apologies, I didn't see that I copied the video, I'll remove it, here's the product!

It’s just a monitor arm from amazon and a laptop stand that you attach via the VESA connection.

I use this with your articulating arm mount of choice.
I use the amazon version of the ergotron arm:

plus:

I love it! This is with an external keyboard and mouse, the arm is amazingly adjustable to bring my laptop inline with my external monitors.
edit - Here is a picture of my setup: https://imgur.com/a/xhvQixR
edit - In a pinch I'll type on the laptop but never for any extended period, this arm is pretty sturdy there isnt any wobble or vertical give when resting my wrists on the laptop to type but there is some side to side movement (very little resistance to the rotation of the arm). I would say it is about as stable as typing with my laptop on my lap as opposed to on a firm flat surface. That said you are mounting this to a desk use an external keyboard and mouse!
Its a combination of a single monitor mount and laptop tray.

If you look at the options it also comes in dual monitor. You could get that and a vesa mounted laptop stand. I use the amazon basics one and it works well for me. It even has attachments for hooking in a docking station. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Notebook-Arm-Mount-Tray/dp/B010QZD6I6/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1LW31DFILH2VD&keywords=vesa+laptop+tray&qid=1580258903&s=office-products&sprefix=vesa+lapt%2Coffice-products%2C151&sr=1-4
Not OP, but it seems to be this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010QZD6I6
I wonder if this could work for you buddy :)
You would still need to buy the arm for the desktop of course :)
This is what I used.
