It’s really awesome. I wasn’t sure it would be possible, but Amazon recommended it as a bundle when I selected two of those monitors.
Here’s a link to the stand: AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_KnEbgnDfZRgvK
Can anyone recommend a good dual monitor arm that supports up to 28"+? I have been eyeing the Amazon Basics one but it's pricey and I'm not sure if I'll get the full benefit of all the features. I have an Acer Predator 27" and a Asus PB287Q 28".
For a 34" and a 28", it might just be safer to get two separate mounts/stands. Stability and weight support would be major concerns. If you're confident that you want a single mount, here's one to look at:
AmazonBasics Dual Monitor Mount - It's manufactured by Ergotron, a trusted name. There are reviews showing people using this stand with a 34" Ultrawide and a 24", so you might be able to stretch and replace that 24" with a 28"...your call. I reached out on r/monitors to see if anyone had any personal experience with this monitor (as I don't necessarily trust Amazon reviews) and received a response stating that it's a quality product.
Once again, personally, I'd go with two separate stands. Would end up costing around the same, allow for more customization, and be a bit more secure and reliable. But there are mounts that support the weight requirements for a 34" and a 28", so it's not impossible.
Only way to go IMO. I haven't tried the double but I have two of the singles and they are amazing.
Ergotron are the best but not needed for (2) 24"
I would recommend Amazon Basics arm in your case.
I really like the Amazon mount I got. It has mounts both arms and articulates well after setting it up. I do not like the pole clamp setup for arms as they tend to slide down.
AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_1aLpBb21D0176
This was recently on sale for $55 on Amazon, it seems like it’s out of stock except for used ones but the deal may come back.
Amazon Basics Dual Monitor Stand... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I got this from Amazon. It’s nice and steady. My only complaint is that the maximum height of this arm set is not that high, and is lower than my previous one. So it took me some time to get used to it and I also had to pull the monitor a little bit closer than before.
I'm using this arm to lift a 32" horizontally and a 24" vertically.
However, the weight limit per arm is ~25lbs. G9 is 31.1lbs! I think you'll have to either mount it to the wall as OP did, or use something like the Ergotron HX which can handle that weight.
Amazon Basics Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9CRM93XBX7C6Q4B7ME3C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
That is what I have along with the single version for 3 monitors total. It can be clamped or you can drill a hole and attach it that way. (That’s what I have done in fact I have a desk sized mouse pad that I even put holes through). The distance from the wall that you mount the base for the arms will dictate the range of motion to some degree. If you want them close together then where the arms joint is will stick out behind (potentially towards the wall) past the mounting base.
I got this one: Amazon Basics Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum - Black https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6PKSJTGP63SGRX0KMS7H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Apparently it’s basically an ergotron but without a 10 year warranty? I figured I could drop $116 and if I hate it, I’ll invest in a better one in a few years.
I just added it to my desk and so far, so good!
Thanks for the box suggestion. I think that’s a good idea. I don’t mind the box off the side of the desk as it’s facing a wall and it’s better than the current disaster!
Can't speak for all monitor arms, but I've got this Dual Monitor Arm from Amazon and while they work great (on my non-standing, completely stationary desk) and do give me plenty of open desk space, I can't imagine wanting to adjust their height on a continual basis. They're really much more of a set-it-to-one-height piece of equipment.
Maybe other, higher end arms offer more flexibility than these though, who knows.
> Amazon Basics dual arm
This one? I'm unsure why it's $230!
Yeah I want it dead center. I don't think it can extend the 2nd monitor as far as I want it.
The bottom part of the mount is completely clear when placed sideways like shown in my pic.
Mine is a single mount but they do sell a double... Which is also twice as much but it has the same mounting system.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/
Doesn't really protrude so I could have the mount back against the wall or all the way to the front of the desk but I'll get a pic to show how I have mine setup.
I’m not sure what your budget is but I have the Amazon basics dual monitor arm which can tilt and move your monitors. I have a 34” ultra wide and a portrait 27” and it’s able to hold both with no issues.

This is the one I have. though it was on sale a couple of weeks ago (maybe 4-5?) for like 180 give or take
No worries - more than happy to help. I use the one from Amazon Basics (link below). It is a little on the expensive side, but well worth it in my personal opinion.
Melaniepilot is right if you use this kind of clamp i'm sure the table is the weak spot.
Try this one Amazon Link
there is also a single arm version .... the clamp has enough surface area with the desk that it should be no problem .... i mounted at least 50 of the single and dualarm ones on office desks ... was never a problem and most hadn't more then a 3-4cm deskplates
I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIBN71I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I actually ordered this "used", but really it was just a small packaging dent, but the Amazon Warehouse sold it for $40 off. There were no scratches, dents, or any problems with the actual product. Definitely recommend checking the "used & new" listings for the product, because a lot of them are just Amazon Warehouse reselling them for cheaper, but functionally they're identical.
Any idea how this would stack up against the amazon basics dual arm mount? That one is like 190$ and titanium/aluminum frame and supposedly super high quality.
Reference: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NRY9Bb09F0F4F
I get this price point is really low and so worth it in any sense, but just from quality perspective what do you guys think comparatively? Or do you think a mount like the one in this post is really going to be just as good?
I'm using the dual desk mounted AmazonBasics one for my AW3418DW and it's pretty sturdy. It's out fully to the left and I have a u3415w on the right side. It was worth the purchase for me although I feel like the stands could be a little cheaper.
I keep them as far back as possible but the arms extend pretty far. This is what I use for my primary 2 screens. It's very sturdy and holds my 34in and 27in panels without breaking a sweat.
Good look bro. I was able to get $38 dollar off this: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=sr_1_4?crid=7BOHBR5JMO8M&keywords=amazon+dual+monitor+arm&qid=1574971584&sprefix=amazon+dual+mo%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-4
Since nobody has commented on this, maybe this can help you out. I have an Acer Predator X34, which should be pretty similar in dimensions and weight, and a ASUS VG248QE. I have both mounted on an Amazon Basics Dual Monitor Stand, which comes in black or silver (Link) I have been using this setup for almost 2 years and have not had any issues at all.
The Amazon basics double arm has been great. I pull it forward and push it back and it does not change direction anywhere else. You can adjust the tension at the different movement points. So if they are real tight, the don’t move easily.
Everyone says it is a rebranded Ergotron. I got it for around $150 during a daily deal. So it’s a little on the expensive side right now.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I
I have a 34” and 27” mounted on an amazon basics stand. It’s pretty much the same as the ergotron stands but with the amazon basics sticker slapped on it. It doesn’t say that it supports it but I found somewhere on reddit that it was fine so I pulled the trigger.
AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c89YEbNFY0089
Look at the Amazon Basics Premium dual monitor arm, I just got one and it is currently holding an Alienware 34 ultrawide and a 27 inch LG IPS. It’s solid and I am really enjoying it. Cost me around 180.
Edit: added link
Mount wise. I bought the AmazonBasics dual monitor mount recently and it's really good.
I believe it's a rebranded Ergotron who make premium mounts which are normally much more expensive.
Supports my 32" and 24" no problem.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_utjqCbBWBT6BZ
Seems a bit expensive at the moment. I got it for £120 a month ago. Maybe wait and see if the price drops.
I have the Amazon basics Dual Monitor Arm and I can't recommend it enough. I managed to get it for $120 brand new on ebay but I wouldn't hesitate to pay full price for it
I’m looking for a lower end second monitor for my setup. This will be used for having a browser and discord opened while I game on my main monitor. Is this mountable on this monitor arm in portrait orientation? https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I
Have you thought about investing in a VESA mount? It'd do wonders for your setup and Amazon's VESA mounts are some of the best you can get for the money. I work with a pretty moest desk myself (55"x24") with a 34" ultrawide that I used without a VESA mount for a little bit and adding the mount to my set-up did wonders for it in terms of aesthetics and organization.
i don't think there's any triple monitor mount that will support a UW and 2 aditional monitors on either side, i'd say get a stand alone arm for one 27" monitor and maybe the amazon basics double monitor arm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=twister_B00VRLV1JK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
just check that your UW is not heavier than what the arm supports
Sorry this is super late but this is exactly what I was looking for! So you got the dual arm version and it supported the Omen x 35"? This one, right? I want to mount my Omen X 35" and my Dell 17" 5:4 but the omen weighs in at 20.88lbs and the listing for the dual says 20lbs max
Monitor Arms are pretty great to get consistent monitor locations. Like this one, while it's pretty expensive, it's something that's going to last and be pretty great in terms of flexibility and stability.
Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. I am strongly leaning towards this monitor. I think for static viewing the color shift will be minimal and I'm very happy to not need to worry about BLB. Do you plan to mount yours or just leave it on the stand? I'm thinking of getting this Amazon Basics dual monitor arm thing. I'm super excited to finally have a cleaned up and sexy looking desk area.
That depends. - What do you want to achieve? - How far should the displays be apart?
I have this mount. No problems with a 27" and a 24". I love it.
You mentioned switching to a smaller desk, if it can support 2 monitors, check out this
Pretty much, this is a $300 monitor mount, that is rebranded with the Amazon Basics logo, and it is incredibly heavy, super sturdy, and works like a champ with the 27 inch monitors my grandpa has.
Dunno about triple arms...I'll be looking for those when the time comes and not sooner.

AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand
It's original from Erogtron called: LX Dual Side-by-Side Arm.
https://www.ergotron.com/en-us/products/product-details/45-245#/
You can get it much cheaper from eBay or with a Amazon Warehouse Deal.
I have the Amazon Basics one. It's very well built, simple, and can be heavily customized.
Yes, it is a Amazon basic dual monitor stand. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=twister_B00VRLV1JK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You're more or less having your cake and eating it too with the i7.
Yes, you can step up to 64GB and keep everything else constant. I don't think 64GB is necessary for your use though. In scenarios where you'd consider 64GB, you're likely to be using a Broadwell-E/Threadripper/Xeon/EPYC CPU.
IIRC, that same Ergotech mount I recommended comes in black as well. Amazon's dual monitor arms come in black, and they're pretty good, but if you want the best, look no further than Ergotron's offerings.
There are a lot of vertical monitor stands on Amazon but it looks like the only one that lets the bottom tilt up, is this giant Frankenstein thing: AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CAZDAbCYB9GX5
Of this less than Frankenstein: EZM Vertical Dual LCD Monitor Mount Desktop Stand Clamp Holds up to 27" (002-0008) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TO2IAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nBZDAbM5DEDBZ
Thanks! The arm is an Amazon basics one. It is a rebrand but it is really solid and has space for cable managment. I really like it. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I?th=1&psc=1
I recommend using the amazon basics dual monitor mount for two of your monitors and then the amazon basics single monitor mount for the other monitor.
I use the dual monitor mount to mount a 34 inch ultra wide and a 27 inch monitor and have had no stability issues. The dual monitor mount actually looks like it is on sale for a pretty good price right now:

a dual monitor arm for the monitors would defintiely give you more space.
also maybe even some desk clamp stands for the speakers you raise them up higher.
Do you have this AmazonBasics dual arm one?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIBN71I/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
I'm debating between getting 2 single arms or just this one for two 27" monitors. Do you use 27" monitors with your dual arm and does it allow enough space between the two monitors? I read the reviews and it looks like the dual arm is only best for 24" monitors or smaller. Getting the dual arm would allow me to stack the monitor which is nice, but that seems risky. The next step up in quality would be around 500$, which is crazy high for just a monitor mount.
Are you thinking in terms of the articulated arms that you can mount monitors to? If so, one piece of advice I would offer is to be careful of dual monitor units like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I
unless you have a good amount of clearance for the arms themselves behind your desk. Without sufficient clearance, you'll be stuck with each arm being either nearly fully extended, or almost fully doubled-back on itself. This can make it hard to get your monitors touching without overlapping. With two separate arms, you can tweak things just right by changing were each stand clamps to your desk without requiring extra clearance behind your desk.
Hope this helps. Figured it might be relevant info. You mentioned desk space was tight, so I figured space around the desk might be tight as well.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I
This dual monitor one is not much more than the Amazon basics single monitor one. But definitely cheaper than Ergotron. But as another said, Ergotron has a better warranty
Yeah if you want a dual stand version this is also rebadged ergotron

Many modern monitors feature a VESA mount. Just make sure you buy the right size for your monitors.
Some monitor arms attach to your desk using a clamp mechanism like this:
The Amazon Basics is pretty solid
Ok, for the gaming side of things I’d strongly agree with you separately running a console or dedicate gaming PC if you have an ultrawide as they really aren’t a MacBook’s strong point - even a 15” Pro - as you likely already know.
If your main issue is ergonomics I’d suggest you look at a dual adjustable monitor arm like this https://www.amazon.com.au/AmazonBasics-Side-Side-Monitor-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN71I so you can fix your issue with your current monitors for a pretty low cost.
If you are looking at upgrading to a 49/43” monitor with a secondary 34” (or dual 34”) you could consider a vertical stack like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/9rmmf9/my_dual_ultrawide_vertical_mount_setup/ which would also somewhat cover your desk size issue (as long as your desk is long/strong enough to hold the monitors).
The whole MST / daisychain thing for thunderbolt ports is discussed in further detail in the below links if you are interested (short version; Apple ignores the existing MST standard and makes it harder and more expensive lol):

See the attached link. While it is Amazon branded, it actually is from Ergotron. While not cheap, they don't get much better than this. If you go with the dual one, you don't have to install the second arm until you are ready. (FYI, don't install the black cover cap without the arm installed as they are near impossible to take off).

They make multi monitor arms you could try, something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I
Here you go! It's pretty expensive, but for this weight of monitors I would recommend spending the money for a really sturdy mount.
Amazon Basics - Dual Monitor Arm it's $219

I have the amazon basics premium (single monitor) stand and I really like it. Rock solid. There is a dual monitor version of it. I have no idea if it's a good price for a dual stand, but here it is:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I
I have an Amazon Dual Monitor Arm (https://www.amazon.ca/AmazonBasics-Premium-Dual-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I). Attached are two Dell U2415 monitors. I also have a Macbook Air and a raindesign stand. I connect the Macbook to one of the external monitors, and I connect the Surface Pro to the other monitor. I bought a dell dock and at some point I'll have to figure out how to connect my surface to both external monitors. I want a dock that sits to the right of my dell monitor that serves as a second monitor and can tilt completely horizontally and lie flat if i want to draw or write.
Amazon have a really good arm that should be more than capable of holding the ultrawide. Bit on the pricy side but I still consider it a worthwhile purchase. Grab some velcro strips too to tie those cables to the arms and keep them nice and tidy and It'll look amazing
$189 at the moment.. I want to say I got these for around $150. AmazonBasics Premium Dual Dell Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NPovDbC0V1JNG
I use this to mount an ultrawide dell u3415w with a dell u2715h, holds them both up just fine.
AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JnOJCb9MF7J24
If you want to put two monitors on the same mount I would suggest the Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm. Each arm can hold up to 20 lbs and a 35" plus a 24.5" would fit easily.
The Ergotron LX Dual Side-by-Side Arm would also work. The website says up to 27" but if you actually read the spec sheet for either version it actually says you can exceed that size as long as you're within the weight limits.
Assuming the AmazonBasics Dual Arm is just a re-branded Ergotron I see no reason why that wouldn't work either, and indeed there are several Amazon reviews indicating a 34" and a 24" would fit just fine.
I've got an Acer ED347CKR on an AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand. Works great.
AmazonBasics Premium Dual Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount Aluminum
Now I settled on this one due to how the arms sit on the mount, instead of depending on some kind of ring to keep the arm up.
I was looking at the AmazonBasics brand one because the reviews are great but you can't beat such a low price model. Still on the fence but leaning towards the VIVO side.
Hi I just AW3418DW on ebay, Would I need to buy anything additional along with "https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIBN71I/" to get it work? Going to buy it now after reading this thread and saw that it was on sale
Thats a pretty snazzy one. I was look @ this one because I wanna have my 27" vertical when Im not using it in game. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1533584771&sr=8-3&keywords=amazon%2Bbasics%2Bmonitor%2Barm&th=1
Little pricey but it will be holding up two pricey monitors so I figure its worth. And it give you a huge range of motion for them both. Need to keep looking around to see what others have done with similar setups to get inspired.
Depending which Amazon you check, it is a bit cheaper or more expensive depending on where you are. It's a rebrand from a pretty solid brand. I am very happy with it. Super solid and easy to mount.
Monitor size and weight play a part in the equation. If you have larger or heavier monitors, some monitor arms will not support them well, or will not have enough space between VESA mounts to properly space the monitors.
So what size and weight monitors are you wanting to mount?
Edit: Two 27" monitors. 3.5Kg sounds rather light, but maybe your monitors have more plastic on it than the 27" monitors I own/use.
On the expensive side of things, there is this dual monitor arm from AmazonBasics. I've used their single-monitor arm variant to mount my 32" monitors, since they support a large amount of weight. However, I can verify the quality and they're very customizable on positioning and you can tighten/secure each joint so it doesn't move if that is what you prefer.
On the cheaper side of things, there's things like this that are less configurable but is easier on the pocketbook.

Supports a 32" and 34" monitor fine.
I would go for one of those if you can afford it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=twister_B00VRLV1JK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
There is also a Wall mount version of it.
This one from Amazon is pricey but I think it was worth every penny.

Amazon Basics Dual Monitor Arm
The desktop is the side of a bookcase that we got in the as-is section of Ikea for $10. We used a few of the other parts from the bookcase to reinforce some of the weaker areas. We plan on having a custom wood slab made somewhere down the road, assuming we can't find something we like.
For sale:
Used Dual monitor stand -$100
Used Samsung home theater surround sound HT-H6500WM - $200

Look into something like monitor arms, they give you freedom to move monitors around more than normal stands.
There's also more basic arms like this one if you don't need quite as much freedom as the other monitor arm.
Yeah I think that linnmon might be a honeycomb pattern, except where the legs go in. If you don't want a stand with a base like the one I linked, check out

I have the single ones, they're very nice. Can move in any direction.
Also can check out this list https://www.highgroundgaming.com/best-gaming-desks/amp/ there's a few nice ones there that I considered before I went to ikea.

The amazon basics dual monitor stand seems to work very well for many people with ultra wides. AmazonBasics Dual Side-by-Side Monitor Display Mounting Arm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_0ynbybNMYPXAB
It's this monitor arm with this notebook tray. It works pretty well. :) Just make sure your room/desk etc. has enough clearance. The setup does require some space behind the desk unless you want the monitors sticking all the way in front of your face.

Yes. It's an amazonbasics ergotron clone. I'll get the link in a sec.
Edit: I forgot, sorry.

I just bought this and love it.
Pretty sure it's just the Ergo rebranded.
Very simple to put together, very durable, would recommend.
I wouldn’t buy anything short of this. If this is too much I’d personally give up on the idea. Don’t mount high end and expensive product on chinese garbage. Ergotron also makes tons of great options. You’d just have to physically mount your portrait mount in portrait orientation. There wouldn’t be any swivel on the portrait. Not much at least.
