Here's an AmazonBasics run of the mill 2M A-to-C cable, which you could use for charging from an older USB-A charger, or connect to your older PC:
7,10 €. It's not 1 €, but it's not too bad, imho.
Thanks so much for pulling those links up! I order off Amazon UK and it's not got a product with the exact name, this is the closest I can find - this will sound dumb, but as it says Type C to Type A rather than the other way round is it still the same thing?
Thanks so much again for the help!
I agree with /u/Plebsolute for Apple's 12W USB Power Adapter.
It's no longer sold on Amazon, but you can get it for $15 from Walmart or Target. It's $19 from Apple and Staples or $22 from Best Buy.
It's smaller than the CHOETECH charger and it charges Switch just as fast. Good cables to use with the Apple charger include AmazonBasics, Anker, or Cable Matters.
If you don't mind going a bit bigger and pricier, the $35 Google Pixel charger and the bigger $28 Anker 30W both charge Switch twice as fast as the other chargers and they're still smaller than Nintendo's.
I mean there's A-to-C cables and C-to-C cables and the A-to-C are far more useful.
C connector makes sense on the device side, because phones/tablets are so thin. But on the PC side there's no point to it unless it carries video signal (and the front panel doesn't) (and you have a USB-C monitor).
Looking to get an extra USB charger for my Switch. Ideally something that can charge while playing games. Plan to plug this into my desktop which has USB 3.0 type As on the front. So the cable will have to be Type A to Type C. I am wondering if it is even possible to charge while playing when using a Type A to C cable connected to a PC?
If I plug this into my Type A USB 3.0 on my desktop, can it charge while playing games?
Also have a Corsair Strafe keyboard which has a USB 2.0 Type-A. I am wondering, if using the above Amazon Basics cable, will it be able to charge the Switch while playing games? Or will a USB 2.0 not deliver enough charge to keep the battery from draining?
