The 3600x is $248 in stock and if you have Amex, you can get 20% off to get it to the price of a 3600
Still showing in stock for me on Amazon Prime shipping available for Wednesday delivery. Unfortunately no same day, but we waited this long, what is two more days?
FYI - If anyone needs this shipped to a PO box or alternate address (e.g. FlexDelivery), you can order it from CC through Amazon instead.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07SQBFN2D/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Shipping is $11 instead of $9 at CC, but CC forces you to ship to your billing address. Checking out through Amazon lets you ship to any address. $2 is worth the peace of mind knowing this won't be sitting on my front doorstep all day.
But if you can afford an extra 30 bucks on top of the 25 difference from Intel to ryzen then the 3600x would be better. I have the 3600x on my laptop and it runs really good. I'm able to play cod at a smooth 60 frames per second. As well as snow runner and even project cars 2.

One last thing, this cpu is better for 50$ more, it’s still compatible with the motherboard https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ryzen+5+3600x&qid=1596235282&sprefix=ryze&sr=8-1
Imma most probably get the ryzen 5 for my build, or maybe the ryzen 7 based on the price fluctuation. What do you say?
PS: I won't and don't recommend getting from Amazon or Flipkart, they ramp up the prices so high. Better, from MD computers (when it comes there) or local stores.
Yep saw that. I was planning to start buying parts tonight after kids are in bed. Overclockers still says pre-order so not sure what that means. Amazon has it too but not prime - AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Processor (6C/12T, 35MB Cache, 4.4 GHz Max Boost) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oBHiDbKS9GSTF

Wow that looks good, thought it might cost me over $900. Anyways as for the processor l, which is more powerful, the one you have in the part picker or this https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ryzen%2B5%2B3600&qid=1600024756&sprefix=ryzen&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
I was thinking of using this one here but partspicker wouldnt let me use any amd cpu so I took my alternative that I recently saw in a build video, where the builder decribed it as better than the standard 3600
A bit of a noob when it comes to Reddit, I don't think I linked the image I wanted too, not sure how to either.
If you go to the link below and go to the specifications part it says "Wraith RGB"
The 3600x isn't much more expensive and a better bang for your buck, imo. It's also going for $199 on Amazon right now. Check it out here
Edit: sorry, just read Canadian. Well, I'll leave this here anyway in case it helps someone. Sorry.
I'm seeing the Ryzen 5 3600x going for $270 while the Ryzen 7 2700 is $185. Am I looking at the wrong site (https://www.amazon.ca/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-thread-processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Ryzen+5+3600x&qid=1575003441&sr=8-1)? re: the CPU cooler, would that apply to both the Ryzen 5 3600x AND the Ryzen 7 2700? Also thanks for updating the GPU. But a friend has pointed out that 1660Ti are usually not considered worth the money but i'm still researching that. Thanks a bunch on the advice for the PSU. The SSD is more of a personal preference but thanks.

Here is the 3600x, the 3600 is $50 cheaper, but comes with 200mhz lower clocks, and it remains to be seen if you can overclock it to 4.4ghz. However, for most applications it's not really a noticeable difference.
That being said, the 3600X compares to the i7-8700k, and in some games will even outperform a 9900k.

See, I hear that argument constantly on this subreddit and it bothers the absolute shit out of me. Your CPU is not worth $500, it's not worth $400, it's not worth $300. I would not even pay $200. [That CPU launched for $339 USD](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_i7_microprocessors#%22Haswell-DT%22_(quad-core,_22_nm\)) in 2014. That's six years ago. Just because you found some scam artist on newegg that's trying to sell it for $500, doesn't change the fact that it's six years old.
Compounding that is the fact that you OC'ed it. I can see your perspective that it's a stable OC. But how about the buyer's perspective? I see that and see that you've put a massive amount of wear & tear on the chip, and you've got to enjoy the best that chip has to offer. Me, the prospective buyer, am now buying years of high heat, high voltage, overclocked CPU that could fry at any moment.
For $309.99, I could buy a brand new Ryzen 5 3600x, and know that it consistently outperforms the 4790k across synthetic, gaming, and typical desktop usage.
This is why you have massively overpriced this chip. You have failed to consider the market of chips out there, the age of your CPU, the condition of your CPU, and the willingness of buyers to take on a no-warranty risk.
I honestly think the Intel 9600K is a great buy right now, and it's weirdly cheap.
You’ll see a lot of people recommend a Ryzen 3600X or similar - which is fine. It’s a really good budget CPU that comes with a half-decent stock fan. This CPU shares a socket (AM4) with the new Zen 3 CPUs from AMD which are expected to release sometime this year, so it's upgradable down the road. This CPU has similar performance to the 9600K, but you should get better gaming performance on the Intel chip due to higher clock speeds. A benefit of the Ryzen chip would be better productivity - so video editing and that kind of thing. Both good for gaming though.
If you’re into esports style gaming, or prefer the highest frames @ 1080p for the lowest price, the 9600K is a great buy. I last saw it for $250 CAD, which is like $190 USD. Stellar price for that performance. If you see a cheaper 9600KF, the 'F' simply means that the CPU doesn't have built-in graphics, which you wouldn't use anyways because you (should) have a dedicated graphics card, so go for that if it's cheaper.
I’d recommend pairing it with an ASUS motherboard (Z390), just my preference. I think ASUS boards have a really nice BIOS, especially for people who aren’t super PC savvy - overclocking should be a breeze if you decide to get a decent cooler. If you aren’t aware, overclocking just pushes a bit more performance out of your CPU, resulting in a bit more heat. The 9600K overclocks well, if I recall, which can make a very large difference when gaming.
Lastly, be aware that motherboards only support certain series of CPUs. You may need to buy a new motherboard if your existing one isn't compatible.
Hope this helps.
Amazon has it for the same price so if you have prime you can get it sooner.
3600X shipped and sold by Amazon. $249.99 + tax. Comes out to about $270.
Yet they have the 3600x @ 249.

3600X on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQBFN2D/
What does, for example, this Amazon link tell you? For me, in Finland, it says "EUR 19.90 Shipping", so they'll ship it here.
You need to look at the specific product page under "Special offers and product promotions".
For example your 3600X only shows the game pass.
On the other hand the 3900X shows both the game pass AND the game.
The landing page you linked only says up to 2 games for select processors. It's a scummy practice, but fortunately Amazon is very good about returns so like I said you can just return it and buy from another retailer, just make sure their produce page says you get both the game and the game pass.
The 3600 is worth it at $160, at $210 you might as well just buy the 3600x at the same price.

At the moment of posting the 3600x is $200 on Amazon US.
Btw, it's also available from Amazon for $199, if you have Prime and want it faster.
I would go for the 3700X, but there is now a nice deal on Amazon for the 3600X worth considering:
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D
I personally went with the 3700X because i don't game much, and i wanted future proofing (I replace my computer every 8-10 years typically nowdays).
The listing on Amazon for the 3600X doesn't mention the free game/game pass. Does that mean you don't get them when you buy from Amazon anymore?
so this is great value if you need to build now but i strongly suggest you wait to upgrade till Christmas ish as AMD just announced their new cpu lineup which should bring down prices on this cpu even more or according to rumors the new cpu would be of better value than this currently is

And no, it doesnt make sense to say "you cant compare 3600x at today's price to launch 5600x price," because that is a not the real choice buyers have in front of them today.

You probably wont need the hyper 212 evo. With that saved money look to upgrade to a 3600x.
Windows 10 is free so you can save money on that (if you dont want the watermark, you can buy it pretty cheap on ebay and other websites). The case comes with one exhaust fan and no intake so id reccomend getting a couple intakes. the Arctic F12's are pretty decent but can get loud under full load. CPU - Ryzen 5 3600x - $195.00

Power Supply - Corsair CX 750w - $99.99
Case - NZXT H510 - $69.99
Total = $743.08 / $838.9 (w/ liquid cooler)
If you want, you can go with a liquid cooler, and I gave you the total with and without. You can downsize it to a 120mm if you feel as if it's too big.
This gives you about $500 to dedicate to a GPU if you already have what you need with keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I would recommend this:
Used RTX 2070 OC If you have any issues with it, Amazon will be the one to handle your situation with a replacement or refund and maybe some extra money for it.
Looks solid, but I think putting in an AMD combo would give you more bang for the buck.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x - $195
AIO: Corsair H60 - $80
Motherboard: ASRock B450 - $95
OR ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F - $122
Keyboard - Durgod Mechanical Keyboard
Go on Ebay for a $5-10 dollar windows key, and put that money for a better keyboard.
If you decide to go with the ASRock, I would recommend either get a Water Cooler. If you can make it work, get higher frequency RAM, as AMD CPU's do better because of it. Also, beware of that case, the 2060's can get pretty hot and you need to optimize for good air flow. There are great cheap RGB fans on amazon that are similar to corsair's, like upHERE.
Amazon has the most consistent prices and inventory at the moment, Newegg has everything marked up like 5% and Best buy hasn't adjusted their prices to the price drop at all, they're charging like mid 2019 prices lol

Also if it helps the last picture on the Amazon photo carousel shows the game promotion, might help in getting your free game.
Hi! I'm trying to pick out a CPU for a desktop I'm building my brother, and I'm torn between a few options. He'd be using it for heavy 1080p gaming (with a graphics card that won't be super high end) and maybe some schoolwork:
The 2700X ships with a better cooler than the 3600X and one significantly better than the 3600. I've heard that the 3600X and 3600 are technically better for gaming compared to the 2700X, by maybe 10% maximum. Overall, I'm not quite sure how much emphasis I should be placing into the CPU for something that shouldn't be that CPU heavy. Thanks for your help!
3600x for 230$ right now, don't sleep on it

go with the current 3600x deal on amazon for $199?

I just bought one (had originally been looking at a 3700x).
Otherwise, the fact that you don't have a monitor (and aren't sure what you can afford)....to me that really determines your GPU decision. Is the 2060 super overkill for 1080p compared to a 1660ti?
that would be amazing and I'm all about saving money lol. thanks
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQBFN2D/?tag=pcpapi-20 is amazon not a recommended place to get parts?
Dont buy from OP. You can buy this processor from Amazon for 199
Edit: my bad that was a 3600x for 199. Still a better buy

Its better to build it yourself. That way you know to what quality it was built to and its cheaper.
Also do you need to go with Intel? Not only is it a couple generations old, but you could get a 3rd Gen Ryzen 6 core thats vastly faster and better for cheaper. If you wanted to go even faster and STILL have it cheaper you can get a Ryzen 8 core.
You're just talking out of your ass.
Amazon:
Newegg:
AMD put online at least some 3700x's on Amazon, this triggered the notification that went out, but apparently the number they said could be fulfilled was fulfilled in minutes. 3900x's were on the AMD site itself, but you couldn't use the "shop" section to get to them, you had to find the 3900x product page, THEN click "add to cart". Those are sold out as well. Only the 3600x's that are on Amazon are the ones that still seem to be in stock: https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D.
Newegg has 3600x's as well: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-3600x/p/N82E16819113568.
I haven't seen anywhere reporting 3600's, 3800, or 3800x as being available yet.
edit: /u/Morbis0688 was correct-I double checked the mail I got and it was a cpu sold by someone else. I had clicked through to AMD's storefront however, which is where my confusion was.
We don't Horse around here.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable can help you, but seems to me like that build’s pretty reasonably priced
