Chinese restaurants serving tiki drinks evolved in parallel to tiki bars serving Chinese food. This is a pretty good article about it, even if it does get some of the facts wrong: https://punchdrink.com/articles/a-match-made-in-paradise-history-of-chinese-restaurants-and-tiki-cocktails/ And another good article: https://laist.com/news/la-history/las-chinese-restaurants-tiki-culture-crucial-role And if you really want to get into it, I recommend this book: https://www.amazon.com/American-Chinese-Restaurants-Society-Consumption/dp/0367273160
