You can just get a cheap power strip with switches. Not a conditioner, but it has a 15amp breaker and super convenient switches right on the front. You'd just need long extension cords to make them all show up there. Then you just have to teach people which ones to flip off first.
Get an outlet switcher & put your speakers on easy to reach switches. Such a convenience for a small setup. Turn off/on your speakers with the flip of a switch without having to give your desk a reach-around. Also a monitor controller like the big knob helps.
I highly recommend the switched power outlet in the rack. Super handy. The one I use is by ADJ, and it's only 30 bucks. As for the racks, with my setup I just cut up a table top from an old desk and used scrap wood to make rack spaces. Rack rails are like 10 bucks a pop, just bolt 'em on some wood. Making your own racks is pretty easy & way cheaper than buying studio furniture. Also, everything I use goes thru that power conditioner at the end. Kinda pricey, around a hundred bucks, but it keeps the signals clean & makes me feel safer.
put them on a power distributor with switched outlets.
The power conditioner is an old Furman. Kind of inherited that one with a gear trade.
The outlet switcher is from ADJ. Very very handy! Only 30 bucks, 15 amp circuit with switches for 8 plugs. I couldn't stand giving my desk a reach-around every time I turned on my speakers. If you get one, I'd recommend finding one that also has a USB phone charger slot like this one. Kinda wish I had a phone port on mine, but I like these big red switches a lot better than those thin blue ones.
Agreed. I just got a cheap DJ one for my home setup, but it's great having a switch for each device instead of reaching around my desk to turn off the speakers every day. After buying that one I saw another that also has a USB charging port on it, wish I'd gotten that one.
Is this for pro audio, and you you have a 19" rack? If so, I would get a striplike this and control individual loads.
or maybe make a lamp out of one of these pigs. :)
I've been wanting to incorporate one of these into my bedside table: i like the idea of just having the power on for whatever one gadget i'm charging/using, and leaving all chargers/devices plugged in all the time.
Check your brattitude at the door. I was suggesting the monster products that actually have FILTERING. to CLEAN the AC of RF etc. I got these on sale.
I would also suggest cheaper power switches than furman.
We've been using these switched rack strips by American DJ :

They cost the right amount for what is in them. the build is good and out of 5 we have none have had issue.
The tripp lite products i suggested do a great job at keeping the AC between 115-120. The building here is in a big biotec industrial zone and the power can roll between 110 and 125 throughout the day. Regulating the AC really does make the audio gear behave more consistently. especially when i have to open many projects from day to day. i set up the analog chain and things sound the same! ;D
