I started with the book http://www.amazon.com/Amigurumi-World-Seriously-Cute-Crochet/dp/1564778479 ! and just youtubed whatever I coudln't figure out. It will take about a week or two with patience and a few ugly lumps of yarn and you'll be on your way.

I started out with the help of Planet June's website and this book! Planet June is a FANTASTIC resource...she makes crystal clear tutorials, and she has ones for lefties too. It's the exact website I used to teach myself when I first started.
