I have something similar to these, I also have the rodenstock wrench but it's not as good IMO.
OP def rotate the lens, if you are using the cable release chances are you are using bulb or time so being able to see the aperture markings are more important than seeing shutter speeds anyway.
Thanks!
I have one of these pin spanners for working on lenses. It’s nice and solid and works great.
One thought- could the screw for the advance lever be reverse threaded? It is on one of my cameras so it doesn’t work loose.
You use a spanner wrench or more specifically one for camera and lens repair like this:

Use the points in the vent holes and carefully ease it open. It is most likely stuck because the battery has leaked and corroded it from the inside. If you have to resort to penetrating oil only use a tiny amount and apply it to the join a drop at a time with a needle.
If the vent holes are too small use a pin drill bit ; https://www.amazon.com/Pin-Vise-Precision-Jewelry-0-6-3-0mm/dp/B07FJ6VD2P/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2G5SUSFQ1UDPO&dchild=1&keywords=pin+drill+bits
I use a DSLR tool.
An adjustable spanner wrench like this
I have one of these tools to take apart stuff like that.

It sounds like this is exactly what you need.

I would first try to find a video or pictures of people disassembling a similar (or ideally the same) lens that way you can see how it's constructed. Then when you do the actual disassembly you should get a baking tray or something similar so that any tiny screws or anything will fall into the tray instead of the ground.
Found this thread on the subject:

It looks like it's just a small interior screw that needs tightening.
It's also super handy to get one of these;
And if you get a piece of foam rubber (I have an old yoga mat I cut chunks out of) you can then use that to disassemble lenses. I just get a piece of PVC pipe (or 3D print a ring since I have a printer) and then cut out a foam ring to pad it and you can open the front of the lens if I need to. Alternatively you can buy one of these:
