I use a trunk cargo net. Used 2 sided table to hold the heavy items like laptop and monitor power bricks and power strip

I slightly unscrewed 1 leg screw in each corner and used, wire to hang a picture, to make a loop to attach the net. I then got 4 tiny carabiners to use on each corner so I can easily adjust it or take it down.
It sagged here or there so I got a few command hooks and put them around to hook any loose netting too. Keeps everything tight to the desk.
I have cats and they try to go after it every now and then but never tear it down.
