This charging block has been a game changer for me. It can charge my phone, Apple Watch, and computer all at the same time. Also nice for smaller charging for travel bags.
USB A will not support 45w charging that the deck requires.
Your best bet is to get a charging brick that has both a USB A port and a USB C port. This way you only have one charging brick, and two separate cables for your charger needs while on the go.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_PZFT9NX8EV661D5MSES6
I would get this one instead. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Compact-Foldable-MacBook/dp/B09C5RG6KV Same wattage, but a little less long but chubbier and that will help it not fall out of wall sockets. Has a coupon for $14 off bringing it down to $46 compared to $33 for JSAUX charger.
Heat isn’t that big of a deal, they could get around that fairly easy by putting it away from the other heat producing components and giving it a passive vent out the bottom, most power bricks don’t even have a vent anyway.. The real reason is weight and size. The point of a laptop is to be small, light, and used away from a charger. It doesn’t make much since to add the weight and size back into the laptop just for when you’re not using it as a laptop. You can get laptop chargers that are pretty small and efficient (not too hot) nowadays. However, due to the nature of a transformer using iron and copper, they are still kinda heavy. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Compact-Foldable-MacBook/dp/B09C5RG6KV/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=Q563DGPUMNN1&keywords=anker+laptop+charger&qid=1667614141&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjY5IiwicXNhIjoiNC4yNCIsInFzcCI6IjMuNjQifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=...
I'd recommend something like this.
Anker makes great products, and this charger charges my devices faster than the factory chargers.
Thanks that write up helps a lot! Yeah, unfortunately, I'll need something that is 1 charger and 3 cables. But I do actually really like your set up and am tempted to maybe also get that, at least for my Mac. It would prevent me having to carry it when just moving between home and a cafe (locally only).
That makes me wonder though....does your set up have any benefit technically over (something like this other than being way smaller and more minimal?](https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Compact-Foldable-MacBook/dp/B09C5RG6KV/ref=sr_1_16?crid=3MDOG8R97I4WS&keywords=anker+usb+c+a&qid=1665530042&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjY4IiwicXNhIjoiMi40MSIsInFzcCI6IjEuNTUifQ%3D%3D&smid=A294P4X9EWVXLJ&am...)
This might be an Anker equilavent on sale. Thoughts on this?
Definitely not normal. If it’s new Apple should warranty-replace the thing. If it’s beyond warranty I’d go to Amazon and get an Anker converter of the appropriate Wattage - see below. Unless it uses the old MagSafe with a cable that doesn’t disconnect in which case you’re totally buggered and will have to buy an Apple replacement.
I have an Anker 735 GaN charger at home that I can test out. It has the same 65W charging capability as the 725. Do you want me to run a test for ya on the 735?
This worked for me: Anker USB C Charger, 735 Charger (Nano II 65W), PPS 3-Port Fast Compact Foldable Wall Charger for MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, Galaxy S20/S10, Dell XPS 13, Note 20/10+, iPhone 13/Pro, Pixel, and More

Speaking from experience, you’re really going to want a good, higher output power adapter to charge the batteries in a 20K power bank. It takes hours to fully charge a power bank of that capacity, but if you can do in 4 hours instead of 8 or 12 it will make your portable power source(s) that much more useful on a backpacking trip.
Have a look at this one. This in an excellent charger to travel with, and might be the only charger required.
Anker USB C Charger, 735 Charger (Nano II 65W)Anker
Electronics chargers are starting to use Gallium, they’re a lot smaller and can put out a lot more power This is my most-favorite that I’m using now since I have a few different things I need to charge, and it’s so portable I can throw it in my bag. But really I recommend anything from Anker, they’ve got a wide variety depending on what you need.

Currently I am using the Anker USB Charger. It's small, powerful and will charge up to three things as once. That is a 65W charger. They also make a 100W version. I have had really good luck with Anker products, both chargers and batteries.
I just bought this to streamline my charging, both at home and traveling. Unfortunately, I sometimes still need USB-A ports (mostly for my Micro-USB charger to charge my portable battery of all things, and my Apple Watch charger), but I use the USB-C for my lightning and USB-C cables for iPhone/MacBook Pro/Kindle/camera/Switch.
thanks, I was hoping to avoid the cost, of the Anker one, but it is what it is, I'm looking at the Anker 735 65w PD PPS 2x USB-C and 1x USB-A.
Output:
Single Port: USB-C 1 (65W Max) / USB-C 2 (65W Max) / USB-A (22.5W Max)
Dual Port: USB-C 1 + USB-C 2 (45W Max + 20W Max) / USB-C 1 + USB-A (40W Max + 22.5W) / USB-C 2 + USB-A (12W Max + 12W Max)
Triple Port: USB-C 1 (40W Max), USB-C 2 (12W Max), USB-A (12W Max)
I like the Anker 735 it has both USB A and C, 65W
Thank you. I'm actually eyeing this one in order to be able to charge a laptop/tablet at the same time... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09C5RG6KV

Great to hear it's been going great 😀
Maybe the Anker 735?

Anker 735: amazon.com/gp/product/B09C5RG6KV/
Cable: amazon.com/gp/product/B082SD28S4/ (might be some better ones out there, but this hasn't had any issues for me).

I don't think there's anything wrong with it tbh.
I think it might be someone who focuses on aesthetics and design.

Most people have this:
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MX0J2AM/A/96w-usb-c-power-adapter?
I go with this:
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Compact-Foldable-MacBook/dp/B09C5RG6KV/ref=sr_1_3?
It's lighter and compact.

I used to have a full sized keyboard.
Downsized that to a TKL mechanical keyboard.

Most people in audio use this:
https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface-Tools/dp/B07QR73T66/ref=sr_1_5?
I use this. Which is tinier but 20 times more effective:

Basically it could be a design preference. Not someone who necessarily needs help.
I like Anker but prefer this one for versatility.
It's also on sale

I use the 65 watt block from Anker. I see a slow charger warning, but it never seems to discharge even as I work. The expansion ports are very handy for travel, too.
There is a higher wattage version which might avoid the "Slow Charger" message
Forget your Apple charger its broke. Electronics break all over the world everyday. There is a endless heap of them all over the globe.
A charger is a charger. They all comply with industry specs on USBC charging. Apple is no different and Apple does not even make that. Another company like all Apple products makes it.
I use the Anker line up. Single port chargers are a waste of space in a backpack.
This is the one I use. Works great for straight to deck and with my dock.

This is right, buy the Anker charger, it is much better than any apple charger!

I replaced my charger with this on from Anker, smaller, higher wattage and includes several ports: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09C5RG6KV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
What color did you choose?
So seems there's either a renaming or something amiss.

There is a 735 non-GaNPRIME out e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV

So either the number 735 is wrong, or they just relaunch it with a GaNPRIME written on side.
You don't want this 65W charger?
(You need a 65W charger if you're using a hub with alot of devices or a dock).

But my own pointers:
You can get one of these:

This will allow you to charge your phone and your laptop.
Looking for something that can last a whole day is a band-aid solution because as time goes on, every laptop will lose longevity - due to depreciation and more demanding apps and waning battery - then you're back to square one.
This is some stuff that works for me that has helped me streamline my tech gear for traveling. Hope it helpful.
If I am going super light on tech gear I use this tech pouch Aer Slim Pouch X-Pac. Its pretty compact, and hold everything all nice like. I do like that is slim and small because it forces me to think about what I am putting in there. But if I need to carry more tech stuff (for my kids iPad, and extra cords for my wife, etc) I use the Peak Designs Tech Pouch. Its bigger than the Aer tech Pouch, and does a better job with more cords and random tech items (for me), I cannot speak to everyone experience with it. The only down side to the Peak Design pouch is that you need to pack it very specficily or it wont close, so it takes some getting used too and practice.
For my charger for my Macbook, iPhone, iPad, and watch i use the Anker Nano II 65W. Its a workhorse, small, and does it all. I have never had any issues with charging 3 things at once. Cord wise i have a 6-foot usb-c to usb-c for my mac book, and the lighting cord for my i phone and the apple watch charger, and then i generally carry one of these to help with any random charging needs i have a Anker Powerline II 3-in-1. I know that is a lot of cords... i am working on getting less cords. But i think in the future i wll be moving into some setup like this:
- MagSafe Duo Charger if my math is right i can get ride of lighting cable and apple watch cable and just use a USB-C to usb-c cable and take up less room. I just don't love slow charging my phone or how expensive this is, but maybe one day.
-I am interested in these as basically universal charging cable systems, and they have various lengths buts the Rolling Square inCharge XL. I have never used them, but they look like an interesting option in the future.
Hope this helps.
Thanks! Just ordered the Anker 735 as it was the same price as the 715 on Amazon today.
Anker USB C Charger, 735 Charger... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV
65 watts, 3 ports, tiny
Agreed, if you run a laptop setup with USB-C and can spare the coin go for the 65w variant.
3 port here (great for travel): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_ZMBZBA03NB74611K2FC8
1 port here (more compact): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T5QN2TR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_323NRECMN1NZVZQJMP0C
From Amazon, replacement charger.
Prices are slightly cheaper if bought from Anker's Aliexpress store.
> I've used this charger with a few laptop as but never something with a GPU or other high power demands.
I have the 735 version of the same charger, and it works great, as well as their 100W 4-port charger (I commute with both), but neither can power nor charge my Dell, unless it's fully powered off and I spend 8 hours charging it.
To be fair, my Dell daily driver laptop is a beast: discrete NVIDIA GPU, 12-core Xeon CPU, 128GB RAM and 4TB of m.2 in 3 separate drives.
Come to think of it... you know what might be a great product: An external battery dock that DOES take 65W of USB-C input, and can charge the laptop battery outside of the laptop itself. It would charge faster, and allow less of the proprietary disabling of non-branded chargers.

Oh I think I found it!

I meant something like the Anker GaN multi device chargers should be the Apple standard now if they really want to be efficient the way they claim.
Something like this? Anker USB C Charger, 735 Charger (Nano II 65W), PPS 3-Port Fast Compact Foldable Wall Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C5RG6KV/
This Anker 65W GaN charger is the same charger I now use to charge my:
I Kickstarted a 200W GaN charger called the Omega, but it doesn't look like it will ever see the light of day. Many of us are wondering if it was all a complete scam.
If it's real, that will be my one and only charger.
I would personally go with one of these:
The 65W chargers from Anker and Ugreen are very similar. Probably the same OEM.
I haven't looked into this specific one, but I like anker stuff generally
