Consider getting a wireless charger.
I have a couple of these around the house and they work great. I toss one in my bag while traveling and use the stand unplugged on a plane tray table for watching movies.
Cheap and easy.
I also snagged mine at $49 during the Best Buy sale shortly after its release and I don't regret it, BUT --
The software experience it offers was terrible, to the point where I specifically disabled the Pixel Stand app on the phone, and now I just use it as a regular old wireless charging stand, and it's fine for that purpose.
Weirdly I can't find the Pixel Stand app on my device anymore, and it's not in the Play Store either. They must've integrated it into the OS somehow but I wouldn't know how to reactivate it even if I wanted to...
EDIT: Looks like there are much cheaper options available now if all you're looking for is a basic stand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_AvTFEb06AGV4Q
I use this Anker charger with my S22
And an Otterbox Defender as a case. I don't find them bulky, assuming you don't use the belt clip piece. And the texture of the exterior rubberized cover is the best I've found in a case. I always look for them from Amazon warehouse for about 50% off retail.
I only use wireless charging, I have one at my desk at work and one on my nightstand and have never really ran out of juice with my S10+
I use these from Anker.
I know you're just joking around, but I was gifted a wireless charger a few months ago. Since then, I've bought several of these guys for $15 each and haven't used wired charging for my iphone outside of my car or while traveling.
To me, wireless charging seemed like a total gimmick until I started using it. But it's honestly very convenient and, frankly not that much more expensive than using higher grade cables.
Sorry to disappoint but it’s a broken Anker Wireless phone charger, that thankfully holds the weight of the iPad in landscape mode, until my case arrives!
Deal of the day: Anker Wireless Charger, PowerWave Stand, Qi-Certified for iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro Max, SE, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XR, Xs Max, 10W Fast-Charging Galaxy S20 S10 S9 S8, Note 10 (No AC Adapter) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_SAQSYB0H6CFMCXS4CCRS
Happened to me as well, my charging port was damaged and and no one I went to was able to fix it. Wireless charging is your last resort, I got this one recently and it works perfectly (It takes 2-3 hours to fully charge).
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3
Remember to place the phone vertically and remove the cover.
I don't know if you just need a cable or a wireless stand, but the Anker Stand Charger works very well for me.
I recently made one out of Anker charger(link below) by disassembling it and putting it into a wood stand I made. Then, I used 1/8 cherry to cover it up. It works perfect. Only the thing is, the wireless unit inside the stand type charger is more difficult to fabricate than a pad type charger.
I've been using a wireless charger similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3 since Nexus 6 days. I was EXTREMELY pleased to see that the 6 Pro, in the case, fits perfectly on the charger with the visor resting right on top of the top of the back.
It's the perfect slow overnight charger that doesn't stress the battery or cause too much heat. I recommend those over the flat mat types.
Honestly? Try getting a different style one. I used to use the round, flat ones. These days I like the kind that prop up the phone (like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3) - it's much easier to line up the charger this way.
Here’s the one I use, I love how my phone is still propped up and in view while charging. It just sits next to my monitor and feels very much in place
I've had issues with flat Qi chargers, but no issues with standing/upright chargers. I have three Anker Qi stands and they work fine with my 12 in a clear (non-Apple) silicone case. Maybe it's because positioning is easier with standing chargers?
I was looking at the Anker stand on Amazon earlier, and someone specifically said it works well with that particular case.
Anker Fast Wireless Charger, 10W Wireless Charging Stand, Qi-Certified, Compatible iPhone XR/Xs Max/XS/X/8/8 Plus, Fast-Charging Galaxy S9/S9+/S8/S8+/Note 9 and More, PowerWave Stand (No AC Adapter) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZhYbCbFGKQ9CK
Anker sells a nice wireless charger on Amazon. It's not the full charging speed that the Official Samsung wireless charger uses (15W) but it does charge at 10W. It has two coils within the stand so it can charge through the bigger cases if you have one. It's a affordable price too at $20 currently.
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3/
For anyone looking, the upright Anker charger covers up the Pixel 5's fingerprint sensor, and is also not that solid or grippy - so the phone feels like it might fall off if you poke it around when it's on the charger!
I have this Anker charger for 20 € and it works perfectly with my Note 9. Either portrait or landscape, no need for positioning. It's very convenient as a stand to watch videos and charge at the same time. Altough I don't know if it works as well with every smartphone-model.
This charger Anker Wireless Charger, PowerWave... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3 works well for me. I only use the 5 watt option but you can get 10 watts with a quick charger. I tend to avoid fast chargers as I charge overnight and extra heat can make the battery age quicker. Though that is debatable.
Just FYI, I got this Anker wireless charger but just know that it only charges at 5W, not 10W. Apparently the wireless charger needs to be EPP certified to be able to charge at 10W on the Pixel 4.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_lAGSDb8T9Q7W2
It was indeed the chargers. I just got this one in:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Working perfectly with the same Qi receiver in your post as well as the new receiver I bought. Neither receiver worked with any of my old chargers.
Time to get another refurb 7 while the getting is good and mount it in the living room like you did. And now that I know that desoldering/prying off the heat shield from the motherboard to unlock the bootloader isn't necessary, that whole process should go a lot easier too.
The best wireless charger for Samsung phones i have found.
There is a more expensive version with a cooling fan but i find this one never gets hot in the first place
Here you are.

I really just use the normal stock Samsung Wireless Charger, the one that sits flat on a table. Got it for $18-$19 ish on Amazon but only paid like $10 ish due to me having Amazon credit I forgot about lol
But I only got it so I could easily plop my Samsung Buds on them at night to charge. For a convertable wireless Samsung charger those are still pretty expensive, & the Samsung Duo is still around $60 on Amazon last I checked.
If you want a fast wireless charger that is a stand as well, Anker has a good one for less than $17 right now

tldr: I’m writing too much to avoiding working on my current deck #relatable. I’ve found amazonbasics and Anker products to suit most of my needs well. I don’t game or use this desk for any streaming or hobby purposes. Risers are the biggest back-saver I’ve gone with. Excited about my vertical mouse. I’d love to hear any other experiences with them and recommendations for when I’m ready cost-wise to upgrade if I decide I’ll stick with it! edit: so many typos
Here’s my (nicely cluttered) office-away-from-office. My laptop is 13” Lenovo yoga 720. I only have 1 USB-A, 1 USB-C and 1 USB-C charging port, so I use a 4-port USB-A for most of my peripherals. Monitor is connected through USB-C with HDMI dongle. I have an Anker wireless charger for my phone, plugged in to my surge protector. Benefit of the upright charger is Face ID will unlock for Siri and music control as long as it’s facing my direction. My USB-A extender doesn’t provide charging power for my phone but it can manage to trickle charge my AirPods fine. I keep those for phone calls and wired headphones when I went to use computer audio.
Onto keyboard, my mouse and keyboard are both amazonbasics. I didn’t get to expense any of my supplies and I find these work great for me for the cost. Just this week I went for a “handshake” ergo mouse because I have tendinitis in my right wrist. Bought the amazonbasics vertical mouse over the Anker version because reviews said it’s better for smaller hands. Depending how long travel will be restricted and how much I like the vertical shape I might eventually upgrade to the Evoluent version, which comes in S/M/L sizing.
I’ve had a monitor for a while, and finally went with some risers to help my posture and eye strain. I got these clear ones in an attempt to be minimalist, which you can see has clearly failed. I have a corner guy and one rectangle, which which gives me a nice nook for a coaster and space for a legal pad. I’m a lefty who uses my mouse righty, so I need space on both sides of my keyboard.
I use some cable management sticky clips on the back of my desk. They’re fine, and were much cheaper than other solutions. It’s annoying to take my charging cable in/out when I work on my couch, but that’s just because I have it running along the back leg of my desk.
Desk is this guy, also from amazon, and it’s much sturdier than I expected. I have the matching bookshelf as well. I wanted a small-footprint desk and this is the smallest I could reasonably go with a monitor. I have a west elm dining chair because of aesthetics. It’s decent on my back, and if it had wheels I’d be perfect. I have no desire to keep an ugly computer chair in my apartment so I’ll probably never make the change.
I didn't know they existed... I've been using a couple of braided USB-C cables from Amazon and an Anker wireless charger - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. We love the wireless charger!
I have an Anker powerwave stand charger. The camera bump barely touches the top of the stand and does not interfere with charging.
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3/
I got the Anker. It works fine. I actually have three. One on my nightstand, one on my office desk, and one in my overnight bag.
I have been using this one for over 3 years: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Do you mean one that tilts it up or one that raises it up?
I absolutely love having this on my desk! https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3
I also have a wireless charging pad for my mouse which I slide under my mousepad which keeps me from having to charge my mouse! https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mouse-pads/powerplay-wireless-charging.943-000109.html

I've had one like this since the S9.
I've definitely noticed that cables/chargers can be hit or miss with the Pixel 5. I had a 2 XL before and every cable worked no problem. But with the 5, the same cable I used before charges extremely slowly when connected to my PC. It does work, but can take several hours just to charge a little bit. I also had an issue on my PC where the phone wouldn't recognize the cable, but I messed with power settings in the BIOS and that fixed it.
In terms of wireless chargers, the Anker ones are good quality. I'm using this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/
Just make sure you also buy a 10W Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 adapter, as normal USB chargers (or your computer) won't work right.
I bought a few Seneo wireless chargers from Amazon that have worked flawlessly for years. They are the stand type where you can have your phone vertical or horizontal while charging. Unfortunately, Seneo got removed from Amazon for leaving fake reviews (along with a ton of other Chinese sellers). Shame, because they didn’t even need to do that.
Looking at the Anker wireless stand on Amazon, it is EXACTLY the same as the Seneo (like 100% the same design and LED light) and more than likely made by the same Chinese manufacturer. Just buy a 12W USB plug with it and you are good to go. The phone will charge at 5W. From tests that a few tech sites have done there is an insignificant difference between 5W and 7.5W wireless charging on Apple devices.

Nice if you already have the charger, but if you have to buy the charger, you might as well just buy their stand. It will also work in landscape.

Someone else recommended this charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=emc_b_5_t and I've been using it for a week and it works pretty good.
I bought this one and it works with wireless fast charging.
Hi! It's the Anker fast wireless charger, found here: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_JLp7Fb2DWKQFC I don't type on it but it seems ok enough to swipe through.....
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DBXZZN3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
That is the phone holder. And lol at only having same mouse.
I have enough money to afford this, but also enough sense to know that it’s not worth it.
One, I find this item to very much be an example of function over form because, let’s be honest, this isn’t exactly an attractive product.
Two, I currently have a wireless phone charger that I got for $15, and a fun little holder for my watch charger that cost $10.
I see no benefit to a charger like this when I already have something that works just as well (or even better, since my phone is upright, which makes it easier to glance at from bed when needed).
Maybe you could enlighten me as to why this solution from Apple is worth a price tag that is 5 times the solution I am using?
Then again your comment reads like something a middle-schooler would write, so you probably don’t have the attention span to do so.
Waste of coins .. I got the Anker Stand and it does the job for a fraction of the price

Though I have the snapdragon version of the phone which is known to be cooler

Anker is the best imo. Both cheap off Amazon. I prefer the stand. It is easier to line up the coils. But the pad is cheaper. I also like the stand cause if ur in bed or at your desk, you just glance over.
No charger is going to work with any case, that's not how electricity works. You need to pass current from one coil (charger) to the other (phone). So having a case in between doesn't work

Here's the charger I'm talking about on Amazon : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07DBXZZN3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And to have the best charge time here's an adapter : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07X39KF5B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Anker working PERFECTLY for 3 months now! It's 30$ but there's a 6$ coupon on amazon right now
The Anker Powerwave Stand does work, assuming you don't have a case on your phone. Unfortunately, I have the Tudia case on my RP2 which added just enough additional bulk to raise the phone out of range for the coil to work consistently when the phone was upright. At best, I'd have to keep the phone in landscape and center the stand behind the bottom half of the phone (which usually meant propping up the top half of the phone with someone so it sat leveled on the stand).
I decided to scrap the stand and get a few Anker Powerwave Pads at home and keep an Anker Powerwave 7.5 Pad at work (to charge rapidly). While the placement still requires centering the pad on the bottom half of the phone, the pads all work great... and I can still use my Tudia case!
Both of the ones above are flat unfortunately, but they do make standing versions. I haven't used those ones though.

Is this the one you use?
Isn't 10w fast charge? Product Description says 10W Wireless Charging Stand on Amazon

Does this work? Looks to have 2 coils...
I use Anker.
(Sorry, misread post. You also mentioned watch)
