My ankle has been bothering me a lot lately (sprained it badly last October, it healed, but yay pregnancy) and I bought this brace on Amazon: Sleeve Stars Plantar Fasciitis Foot Sleeve with Ankle Brace Strap (One Size) [link].
It has helped a lot for when I'm moving around/ walking or wearing less than supportive shoes! It still gets sore, but it takes a lot longer. Just thought I'd throw it out there. :)
Thank you for the reply! I'll look up deep friction massage, and will continue moving the ankle through full range of motions. Not sure if I should be taking ibprofen regularly or just before my next attempted run, as the ankle doesn't hurt other than about 1.5 miles into my runs.
I also purchased an ankle brace. Only wore it a couple of times, but I'll start putting it on more regularly too.
