It not necessarily at all. What recipe are you using? Just using agar agar and malt extract is enough for cubes. You can also use nutrients like potato flakes
I haven't seen it without b12 in the US.
I honestly feel like it might be my main source of b12. i probably have a tablespoon or so daily on average, which is 200% of DV

I understand where you are coming from. I've tried 3 varieties of nutritional yeast and they all have different flavor profiles.
I personally like Anthony's the best, though good luck using a pound and a half without sharing with friends and family.
I didn't care for Braggs, though I swear by their vinegar. And Anthony's offers a non-fortified version which I think tastes kinda flat.
I get Anthony’s nutritional yeast at Whole Foods, But it can be ordered from amazon. It’s a big bag and lasts a long time.
