You are looking for a UPS. You can find a small one built into a powerstrip.
Something like this.
I feel ya, got into this stuff semi-recently myself and it can be very overwhelming. Do you mean something like this? And what happens that indicates it isn't working right?
I had a PS4 pro that had that problem. The solution seemed to be getting a better surge protector. I have a ps5 now, and still use that surge protector. No problem so far. Here is an example.
APC Surge Protector with USB Ports, P11U2, 2880 Joule, 8' Cord, Flat Plug,11 Outlet Power Strip Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_594EG5VX76HCRQP0KMFZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Well, no idea which country you're in for a start.
If you're in the U.S., a $40 Belkin surge protector power strip should be fine, or for $30, this: https://www.amazon.com/APC-11-Outlet-Protector-SurgeArrest-P11U2/dp/B017VXU6GG/
If your system is constantly tripping though, I'd get a UPS for about $100+ to keep some power to them. Regardless of the surge, a PS4 really doesn't like losing power.
Generally, yes. I do agree with the other poster that a reputable brand is wise, due to cheap ones being more likely to fudge their rating. A nice compromise between our recommendations that I think they'd likely agree with would be a well-rated APC unit like this. Looks like finding a skinny strip with good protection may be hard, assumedly due to size constraints making it difficult to fit enough electronics.
Thanks. Here's the one I was using and it's brand new -https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_H2X3Q21C8XYG1Z7WQQHX
I had my gaming monitor, Google home device and sometimes my cell phone charger plugged in. I also keep my laptop charging but it's very rarely on and powered up a the same time as my Xbox, so when the Xbox is drawing power the laptop is either in sleep mode or turned off entirely.
Think that could have caused any damage?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_H2X3Q21C8XYG1Z7WQQHX
This is the one I ordered. I do have other devices plugged into it - laptop (usually not powered on at the same time though, just charging), gaming monitor, cell phone and Google home device.
Which seems to suffice my need of turning 1 plugin to multiple
fridge is rated at .85 amps at 115 volts, and this is the surge protector. My pc is actually just running old graphics cards that suck up a lot of power plus an overclocked cpu. i just launched a game and i was using 600 watts and i was only at 70% gpu usage and 60% cpu usage.

exactly what i have connected to the strip is my speakers 208mA, my dac and amp at 500mA, 8 watts; and 1500mA, 21 watts respectively, the fridge mentioned above, a phone charger (max 5V, 2 Amps), very small ethernet splitter with no label on it, and a 12 volt 3 amp usb hub. i was mistaken earlier, my monitors are actually connected to my ups not the strip. and at full load with all my monitors on, pc running at full speed, it will pull anywhere from 600 to 700 watts with occasionally around 850 if i also have my 3d printer connected to it.
The i5-7600 is a great cpu for gaming and normal work. If you aren't rendering/encoding (or got an i7 at a steal) then there isn't really a point for it.
As far the lightning hit I'd recommend this protector or something similar to protect your computer and other tech :)
^ Never had an issue yet with that protector and I have had many, many, many lightning hits by my place in FL
How is that a better solution? Expensive, fewer plugs than a standard power strip, big, and messy.
Just get a better-designed power strip with space for multiple bulky adapters.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_H2X3Q21C8XYG1Z7WQQHX
This is the one I got.
Get 2-3 of these: https://www.amazon.ca/SCHNEIDER-ELECTRIC-11-Outlet-Protector-P11U2/dp/B017VXU6GG
Should be plenty of outlets. You can also get surge protectors will less outlets. They'll have fairly long cords too.

I'm not keen on RGB), however, ASRock's own software neve fails to crash on launch (possibly due to having the gall to not have an ASRock mobo) and other RGB software (Aura Sync, OpenRGB, Jacknet, SignalRGB) don't detect it either. Am I stuck with rainbow barf?

> Does anyone know the difference between a supervisor and user password in BIOS settings? I think supervisor is to actually change BIOS settings, and if user password is set it will allow you to access BIOS and change settings unless a supervisor password is set and you don't know it. Is this correct?

First option i was going to get: APC Performance Surge Protector with USB Ports, P11U2, 11 Outlet Power Strip, 2880 Joule Surge Protection https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017VXU6GG/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Ooo I pick up a similar surge protector a few years ago.
How is that one compared to the one I bought a few years ago?
Atleast 2k joule

Minimal backup power/surge combo is good. Some good youtube reviews
I wouldn't really trust a UPS under $100, but I do use this surge protector, and have found it to work well. (APC is usually a pretty good brand)
Surge Protectors don't generally have cords that long. I would recommend getting a decent surge protector and an extension cord with 14AWG (not the cheap 16 or 18 AWG ones):
Surge Protector: https://www.amazon.com/APC-11-Outlet-Protector-SurgeArrest-P11U2/dp/B017VXU6GG/
Extension Cord (various lengths): https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Heavy-Duty-Extension-P024-010/dp/B00FBA1VHK/

I highly recommend thsi surge protector ... I worked for Schneider my first year as an electrician and all there products are world renowned!
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC APC 11-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with USB Charging Ports, 2880 Joules, Surge Arrest Home/Office (P11U2) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gyldFbC0TPZXV
Before I'd call an electrician I might look at a new surge protector itself, or try bypassing it and plugging directly into the wall and seeing what happens. Another thing to look into are ferrite cores, you can get them on amazon for almost nothing (I bought a 20 pack for like $10). They snap on your cables (you can do them on power and your line/audio cables). They seem silly but they do work, I used to always run them on Fender Stratocaster's because the triple single-coil pickup style they used always had a tendency to pick up any kind of electronic signal from the air.
Speaking of that, it might be something else to look into. Something like changing to flourescent lights or maybe some other electronic device you've added to your house or your room that could be causing this. That can especially happen if this is truly an electric problem and the device is plugged into the same house circuit (again, meaning plugging this device into another room might be worth a shot if you truly expect an electrical problem).
These might be things all worth trying on the cheap and can go from there.
edit: I looked into your components further, and realized this looks like a USB powered interface. In that case, it's powered off the 5v rail on your PC's motherboard, which interfaces to your computers PSU. Lots of ways for that to get "messy" or noisy, but you mentioned something about charging your phone at the same time. I'd try unplugging any unnecessary USB devices while you record, see if it has any effect at all. Especially a phone, if possible.
TL;DR answer though, I'd check between the surge protector you have on your computer and buy some ferrite cores and that will probably tamp it out the easiest without much headache.

I'm using this: APC 11-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with USB Charging Ports, 2880 Joules, SurgeArrest Home/Office (P11U2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ni6jDbYY7Z6QW
you don't necessarily need a UPS to achieve that, a quality surge protector is essentially what's going to protect a system. something like this- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VXU6GG APC is a good brand and has several varieties
The only real source is opening these up and knowing what you're looking at, which is the main reason companies take advantage of the "surge protector" marketing. It has no standards, so anyone can say that for anything. Here is an example of APC marketing a piece of plastic with a capacitors and wiring as a "surge protector" when it protects from very little. https://www.amazon.com/APC-11-Outlet-Protector-SurgeArrest-P11U2/dp/B017VXU6GG/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=apc&qid=1559167869&s=gateway&sr=8-10

The price is the tell for general consumers, and lack of certain specifications is the tell for enthusiasts and electrical engineers.

Lastly, that $250k insurance on that $30 piece is laughable, they will give you the runaround until you give up. There's no way they would ever pay that much for something connected to a $30 power strip.
