Something as simple as this would cover you. When your power goes out, it will allow you enough time to safely shutdown your PS4 until the power returns.
If you have the money you can buy larger capacity versions that provide more power for longer.

There are tons. Just look through Amazon or your local webshop for APC. They have different models, look for models with "PowerChute".
I use this one, have a Synology, NUC, Router and Switch connected. Works fine with Synology by connecting the USB cable for save shutdowns.
This is the one I use. It has saved me big time during competitions on several occasions when alot of people are using the same power grid.

Thanks! I presume you are happy with that APC.
I have an APC UPS rated at 700VA. It'll drive my computer (970 build with an 850W PSU) and ultrawide 29" monitor for about "15" minutes. That's long enough to shut down gracefully. I put 15 in quotes because I've never waited for the battery to run out.
this is the model I have
720VA/420w. 420 watts is about right to cover all typical printer possibilities. You might be able to get away with less with a smaller printer, or one that doesn't have a heated bed.
The APC Pro models are dual frequency: https://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS-Battery-Protector-BR700G/dp/B002RCNX8K/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=M4bE7&pf_rd_p=a654ad73-af1c-40d7-8dbb-00cce9c459f1&pf_rd_r=WBMXD1K9AGQS38BHHBX7&pd_rd_r=e2a55ab9-6006-430d-8550-dc268534b22b&pd_rd_wg=035ee&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m&th=1

But yes, I apologize for a blanket statement. But APC does make a series that is dual frequency and I've been using them overseas close to 10 years.
- Safe transport: Did you use UAB, HHE, or both? Any especially helpful packing tips to protect gear? A: Both. Use original packaging material. If it's going in UAB, weigh the item in it's original box and write the weight on the outside of the box. Be aware that some shippers will say "no" to any item going in UAB that has batteries in it. If possible remove the batteries. If it can't be removed, it's up to the shipper.
- Power: Shipping of UPS/batteries seems difficult/impossible. How did you address power protection? A: I'm a big fan of APC UPS'. They have some that are dual frequency (https://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS-Battery-Protector-BR700G/dp/B002RCNX8K/ref=sr_1_9?crid=3KJS4RK58UKI2&keywords=apc%2Bups&qid=1647169693&sprefix=apc%2Bups%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-9&th=1 ) so look for those. You will need to order and put them in your HHE. They key is the 50-60hz, and they will work overseas.
- Lessons learned: If you did take your existing stuff, what'd you learn (should have's) and how did it affect future posts/choices? A: Oh man. Ok so lessons learned. Research the internet where you are going. We did a Post that only had capped 4G internet. It really effects what you stream and you need to reassess what you do online. Along the same lines, don't count on cloud backup. We have a NAS that stores all of our data (and goes UAB). I make backups of the data on the NAS on multiple USB hard drives - 1 I keep with me the other is back in the US with family. I do quarterly backups, and once/twice a year I swap the drives.
Along the lines of limited internet, if you are going to a post where internet is limited, embrace physical media. Get a blue ray player and stock up on discs.
Plan on using a VPN (and then fighting what you can stream). I'm a fan of running a VPN on a router and running everything through it.
Pick up an AppleTV or Roku (I have both). I can't speak to Fire TV as I don't have one/haven't used it. Also, I'd suggest getting your own tv. We have 2 - a 50" and a 32". 32" is the perfect size for UAB (don't count on a tv in your welcome kit). Make sure any tv you have is dual voltage. Samsung seems to be pretty good with that.
If you have a cell phone # you've had for a long time, port it to Google Voice before you leave. You can always pick up a burner SIM when you are back in the US and forward you GV # to that temp number. I know people use Google FI, etc overseas. I've always found it's cheaper to get a sim overseas (and you have a local #).
In your carry on bag, I always pack my router, AppleTV, and USB drive of backups.
Thanks for the info, was this the UPS you mentioned you used?
Consensus around here seems to be that you definitely want a UPS - if the power to your NAS goes out while it's writing to disk, data corruption can result.
I agree that the Amazon reviews are super frustrating! FWIW, I looked at a bunch of models and read a ton of reviews and ended up deciding on the APC BR700G: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RCNX8K
