No issues so far and it does everything you need it to. Comes in a nice box with a good amount of calibration fluid. The tips are replaceable. The say it's water proof but I haven't dropped it in the water yet.

It comes with all the calibration solution also. It looks like this one has changed over to a Bluetooth one with app bc Its only available used on Amazon and the apera store says currently unavailable but they have the Bluetooth, app, smart option in a 7 in 1 tester instead of 5 in 1.

In my experience the cheap ones work well till they don’t. I mean tHey can be recalibrated when needed but eventually after one - two years or so of daily use they crap out and have to be replaced.

If you invest in a more ($60-70)expensive one the actual meter will easily last 10 years or longer if you take proper care of it. Most allow you to replace the probe if damaged.

I love my apera 5 in 1. Went through a bunch of cheaper ones over the years and finally but the bullet and invested. Two years later I don’t regret it.

I agree that most anything off Amazon with good reviews should do the job. Just saying durability is a trade off if you go with the budget models.

This is a really good one that reads ph, ppm, ec, temp and salinity. It also comes with calibration and storing solution. Skip the 13$ ph and ec meters on Amazon. I started with those and within 2 weeks the EC meter broke and the pH meter was waaay off. Thankfully they didn't last long enough to cause me any serious issues but I can't recommend them. I know $130 seems like alot but that apera is a really good meter. It comes with a warranty and the probe part is even replaceable if it should ever break. Ive used mine every day for a year now. I've calibrated it in the solution once but quickly realized it was still spot on accurate.

For hobbyist/home use, I'd recommend Apera or Blue Labs. You can find them on Amazon. Apera makes a great pH/EC combo meter that's solid.

Here's the Apera one as an example. I believe blue labs makes one that is just EC no pH which would be half the price. However if you don't have a digital pH meter it's worth snagging the combo. It holds it's calibration well and they're very accurate. You should check calibration every 2-4 weeks.

This is the first time I have used those clay balls. I washed them first. I have an expensive meter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ENFOIKA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_8o1bzbYCJXAGF. Does pH, ec, ppm, temp. It is calibrated. I have other items in dwc and they are doing really well.

The concentration might be off. I can't seem to find good information on what seedlings should be getting.

this is the meter I use. I also have the Agera PH20 meter, which just does ph and temp, and both of these are just amazing. however for a tds meter, you dont need anything fancy the 10 dollar bargin ec meter will do just fine.
