You might want to check out a "pill cutter" (works for multiple sizes, even very small ones). Not only can they help to cut these very hard pills, they also catch both parts. If I do it any other way, at least one half disappears into a wormhole or something.
Just buy a pill cutter. I use [this one](https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK/] that cost less than $5. It allows you to get a cleaner, more accurate cut without getting finasteride residue everywhere and you can store the extra pieces in the little compartment in the cutter itself. Getting 5mg tablet down to 1mg is not going to be easy no matter what you use, though. would divide into quarters (1.25mg).
Hopefully it's just a straight forward break for you and slinging for X weeks will let it heal correctly- labrum repairs are rough damn surgery and recovery. On the pile of things I never want to do again, it's right at the top. I'd rather muck out an outhouse than have another labrum tear surgery.

One trick I learned from my grandfather (he had RA before the current generation of drugs made it manageable) was to "get in front of the pain"- if you let it build up thinking you can push thru, it makes it a lot harder to get relief when you finally admit its time for painkiller (narcotic or otherwise). I also got a pill cutter so I didn't have to use the whole pill (for when advil wasn't enough and a full pill was too much), helps with tapering off them too. You don't wanna get hooked on the bastards but you also want effective pain relief so you can heal.
There are several pieces of scientific publications that convey and show a visual representation of the efficacy of Finasteride as low as 0.05 mg a day (about 1/3 mg a week).
If you wanted to take 2mg max, then take a pill cutter cut a 1mg pill in half, take one-half Monday, one-half Wednesday, and then your last pill on Friday.
Here's a pill cutter for example.

Sure, just didn't want to assault you with information unless you wanted it. I'll explain as succinctly as I can.
Finasteride is a drug, given in 5 mg dose size pills, that was prescribed to men with prostate issues, and they discovered those men were growing hair back. Hair regrowth is obviously a major potential source of income for drug companies, so this was huge for them. They repackaged the same drug in 1 mg dose pills (1 mg daily is all you need to get the full hair benefits), and called it the brand name Propecia.
Propecia, however, costs a lot. I don't know exactly what everyone pays for it currently, but when I looked several years ago it was going to cost me ~$100 a month, so around $3 a day, and $1,200 a year.
But the 5 mg pill version, the one they give for prostate care, is very cheap. All you have to do is ask your doctor (I just used my regular gives-me-my-physical doctor) for a prescription for 5 mg finasteride, often called the brand name Proscar. Then you get a cheap pill cutter like this one on Amazon. And you cut the 5mg pills into 4ths, which is super easy. Then you're taking a 1.25-ish mg dose (my doctor said the difference is negligible). And for me, with no insurance, that cost $8 for 30 5mg pills. So cut into 4ths, that's 120 doses. So $24 a year, or 6 cents a day, as opposed to $3 a day. And now that my insurance covers it, it's like $2 instead of $8.
So if you get Proscar 5mg, it's literally FIFTY times cheaper than the brand name. And it really is an amazing drug for a huge number of us. Not everyone grows their hair back, I didn't. But I was losing my hair like it was on fire, and Finasteride just stopped it in its tracks. I haven't lost a hair in years. My only regret is that I didn't get on it sooner when I had more hair. It's a lot harder to regrow than it is to save.
Does that make sense?
Awesome.Clonidine really helps.
The pills are a bummer for sure but it can be done. Something like the link below is a great tool, see if you can get your hands on one. If you look through the forum, you will see the great many unfortunate addicts who took too much too early and realized that Gd gave us a real sample of hell here on earth - it’s called precipitated withdrawals. You must be careful. I’m concerned not only because I don’t want you to feel the horror of it. Many people who go through it don’t touch subs ever again and I don’t want that to be you.
Now that I’m thinking bout it... you don’t have to get the dosage exact. As long as it’s somewhere around there, under 1mg, you will be ok. So try your best.
Good night and be strong! You only gotta do this once. We are rooting for you!
Apex Ultra Pill Cutter - Pill Splitter With Retracting Blade Guard - For Cutting Small Pills or Large Pills In Half https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EGKTGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_U9ipFbBKEKTNV
If it's big enough, you should be able to do fourths (with a pill splitter) and get a good dose. These are a god-send.
Your doctor is fucking clueless. The only reason to ever take 25 ed if asin is as a breast cancer treatment.
First of all, are you sure you need an AI, what is your e2 at? Most people don't need it on a TRT dose. What is your testosterone dose? Can it be reduced and keep you in a therapeutic range? This is ideal. This is what I do, you don't' want to be taking AI all the time if you don't have to. Save it for blasts.
If you do need it, start with a quarter pill 2x a week this is the dose I take when blasting 400-500mg of test a week. The half life of exemestane is meaningless because it's a suicidal inhibitor. Get one of these to split the pills: http://www.amazon.com/Apex-70068-Ultra-Pill-Splitter/dp/B000EGKTGK
On the plus side, if your insurance covers it you have an awesomely cheap source of FDA pharma Asin now. Lucky you, that shit is expensive.
You do need a prescription, but I've never heard of anyone being denied. I just asked my regular doctor, who I'd never met before, at a physical and he wrote the prescription instantly, knew exactly what I was talking about. That was years ago, never had to go back in.
So, it's sort of complicated, but like I said, Finasteride is the name of the drug itself, Propecia is the name brand most people know it as (like how Advil is actually the drug Ibuprofen). Finsateride was originally invented as a drug to reduce prostate size in men with enlarged prostates, I believe, and when they started using it they noticed all these old guys were regrowing hair, so they resold the same drug as a hair pill.
Propecia is really expensive, at least $1200 a year, possibly more. Propecia is a pill that is a 1mg dose of Finasteride. However, you can get prescribed the generic version of just plain Finasteride in a higher 5mg per pill dose, that is supposed to be for prostates. Then you use a pill cutter (I got this one on Amazon for $4) to cut the pills into 1/4th. So then it is a 1.25mg dose (my doctor said the 0.25mg extra is not important enough to care about).
I live in California, and with no insurance mine costs $9 for 30 pills. Cut each pill into 4 doses. That's 120 days for $9, and 3 bottles will get you through a whole year. So $27 a year. Same exact drug, you do just a tiny bit of work (cutting the pills is honestly kind of satisfying to me) and it's 7 cents a pill instead of $3 or 4 per pill.
Note that the pill doesn't work for everyone. I know people who had a great regrowth of their hair, and some who it didn't work at all for. But it works for most I think. For me, it just froze my hairloss right were it was, but no significant regrowth. I was going bald fast at 25, so this was a godsend. I just wish I'd gotten on it sooner.
Most people suggest you do it in conjunction with Rogiane and a Ketoconazole shampoo. Those two plus Fin are called The Big Three. For more info check out /r/tressless, which is a sub just about hairloss.
I would buy a pill splitter for the 10mg if they're tablets, they're very cheap, ex: https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK/ref=sr\_1\_4?dchild=1&keywords=pill+splitter&qid=1615851535&sr=8-4
I have this from Amazon for my 6 pound, elderly dog that is on tons of medication and it helps me quarter medication relatively easily.

Get a pill splitter and cut a pill in quarters. $4 at Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK/ref=zg\_bs\_8626404011\_sccl\_1/141-2436199-6021415?psc=1
If it is a tablet/pill you can use one of these https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK
If it's a capsule I would just weigh it.
Use a pill cutter https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK
A pill splitter sounds like it would be helpful here!
(not sure about the exact one linked, just there for reference)
My pills are like a round oval shape, it doesn't sit flat. Its like a 50/50 chance it'll cut in half or cut completely unsymmetrical and fly across the room.
Pill cutter :) if your nervous I would recommend starting with 2.5mg.
You're welcome! Honestly I did 2.5mg first for a week so that may be better for you? I got a pill cutter off Amazon, this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EGKTGK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Correct. I use this cutter.
APEX Ultra Pill Cutter - Pill... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EGKTGK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This one is nice because the blue part that holds the pill for the blade is made of rubber or something so it holds the pill and it won’t fly anywhere
Just smethn like this shit??? https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Ultra-Pill-Cutter-Retracting/dp/B000EGKTGK
This is the one I use - might work differently for oval pills since I've heard they're hard to cut
I found a match on Amazon, the Apex Ultra Pill Cutter. It being able to cut into 8ths sounds promising! I'll try it, thanks!
Use a pill cutter.
