I used an Arduino Leonardo since they have the atmega chip that lets the computer recognize it as a keyboard. For connecting to the board I used these wires and stripped one end and crimped on quick disconnects for the button side. Not a whole lot of ground spots on the board but it's common ground so you can Daisy chain.
