I hose mine off with a hose trigger attachment (high pressure, I've never had issues, but I do avoid spraying bearing seals directly). Then I wipe down the bike with a bucket of warm sudsy car wash soap (because it's more gentle than dish soap) and a webbed sponge. I hit the frame, rims, hubs, etc. Then I spray the chain, cassette, and rings with diluted simple green and do a quick scrub with two cheap nail brushes. I follow the 80/20 rule on chain cleanliness.. I clean it often, but I don't make it pristine.
Then I dry it and lube it.
The whole process takes 15 minutes, and I do it in my full bike kit (to my wife's dismay).
