There was a DVD edition briefly in 2006 that had them.
Edit: This had the theatrical cut, there're also editions for Empire and Return
> We paid to see Luke Skywalker not this wobbling hobo.
May I interest you in this?
Time to buy it, I guess. $120 for DVDs from Amazon.
EDIT: I get it. I don't own any DVDs, either. I added this info for any hardcore Malcolm fans who wanted to be able to binge without waiting for another service to pick up streaming him.
I got it from Amazon. Literally ordered it yesterday and got it today. (Still trying to cancel the now-backordered, more expensive purchase I made from the WB shop.)
Amazon UK sells a complete series set on DVD. It's region locked, but you can watch it with a regionless DVD player or on a computer.
Order it from Amazon. [link]
Cheaper than the WB shop and faster shipping. I'm really grumpy about how the WB handled my order. I'm still trying to get that order canceled, but every time I email them I get a bounceback saying the mailbox is full.
Wow that is great to know. This is what I was going to buy:
You're saying that the disks will be 4k but the digital copy isn't? I was planning on using the digital download so I wouldn't have to bother with the disks/a disk player.
If you do want to check out the films for yourself, start with A New Hope but I recommend to look for the so called "limited edition" on dvd.
Like this one here, but don't order it off of Amazon. Just get it from a local movie trading store, you can call them and ask if they have a limited editon in stock. (My local store sold Empire Strikes Back limited for $17)
It's a long story but the director, George Lucas, messed with the original theatrical versions with crappy CGI edits. It's a nitpick with some scenes, but others are ruined by the updated scenes. That's why alot of people don't recommend watching any new version of the original trilogy until the un-edited version is finally released. (Disney, get to work on it!)
I don't think the Enchiridion Edition was released on blu-ray. The best I could find was this collection of non-US blu-rays:
But I'm glad the later seasons got a blu-ray release somewhere... I might have to pick that up, though I'm pissed they stopped at season 6 in the US.
Ah yeah, that would be nice. But given Disney's history, it's unlikely. Found this region free set on Amazon only $85:
when they re-released them in ~2007 as individual movies not just as the box set the first disc is the remaster BS and the second disc of "bonus features" are the untouched theatrical releases i have them and love them, if they would do that again for blu-ray would re buy
but i dont want them damn recut shits
this is the version i am referring to [link]
They sell the ENTIRE disc set somewhere. Every season, the movie, and future.
I bought it on Amazon ([link]). Idk where you are, but hopefully this helps
I've had a couple of collections--I bought the newest BR set right after SPECTRE came out and I don't have any complaints. There are a lot of extras for every film, the transfers range from acceptable to really good, and the sound is also top notch. It includes all 24 EON films, a couple of feature length docs, lots of deleted scenes, behind the scenes, some audio commentary, etc.
I'd expect that there will be a new full set that includes NTTD before too long.
[link] You're in luck, it's in 4k. A bit steep in price though but it's LOTR after all.
I have never found them online when I try to tell friends about these scenes, but they can be yours forever :) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Friends-Complete-1-10-Jennifer-Aniston/dp/B002CYIR0M
Does this set come with everything like that? Is it the full package?
I ended up getting the Madman blu-ray box set. It doesn't have any EU dubs or subs, and only English subs for the hearing impaired. But at least it's available in the EU, right? Good luck on your search.
Amazon has the complete series on dvd.
In 2006 the unaltered OT was released as a DVD bonus disc, here’s an Amazon link if your interested [link] you could also find them on eBay, and I should be coming out with part 5 soon so keep a look out
Well do I have news for you, in 2006 the unaltered version of ANH, TESB, and ROTJ was released as a DVD bonus disc for each film here’s the Amazon link Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope [link]
Of course!, I think they bought it from the Spanish Amazon website, where is around 75€, here it's
I have the DVDs which you can still buy here in the UK [link]
All4 seems to cut random things out of episodes which drives me nuts.
Here's what I bought. Are you in America by any chance?
Hey you do know this exists right ?
hope this helps
Here you go.
This is the standard LOTR trilogy 4K set:
And the standard The Hobbit Trilogy 4K set if you’re interested:
The packages have 4K DV/HDR10 versions of both the theatrical and extended cuts on separate discs. The theatrical cuts are one disc each, and the extended cuts are separated on two discs each.
You also get 4K DV codes for iTunes, Vudu, Movies Anywhere and other services as well.
I have this one and there's 40 discs, 4 in each season. You might be able to find the same one on another site / amazon.com if you're not from the uk :)
It's $90 on Amazon!
It's available at a bunch of other retailers too, and the price seems to vary a bit, but this is a good place to start :)
It comes with both. Sold out everywhere here in New Zealand at the moment. I managed to get the hobbit trilogy 4K release in the mean time.
This is what I got my brother for Christmas. Brand new 4K release with retouched cgi and UHD. The extended editions are the only way to watch these movies. Lord of the Rings, The: Motion Picture Trilogy (Extended & Theatrical)(4K Ultra HD + Digital) [Blu-ray] [link]

I assume you’re talking about this
Yes, that’s all the episodes (from the main series, minus the pilot iirc), Diamonds and Lemons (the Minecraft episode) is a special on one of the disks, rather than being an actual episode.
They’re unedited as aired, scaled up to 1080p assuming you get the Blu-ray.
Cartoon Network: Steven Universe: The Complete Collection (DVD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JDTP2F1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_d0JLFbF5N8WAR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Don’t think you’ll find a DVD only set. Cheapest Blu-ray/DVD combo set is less than $30:
Original Trilogy at Amazon for $28.72
You can buy the complete series on Amazon, with all the original music intact. However there's a big asterisk here, it's region-locked. VLC Media Player is a free software you can download onto your laptop/computer that can play DVD's of any region. Whenever I watch the show, I put the disc in my laptop, open it with VLC Media Player, and then use an HDMI cable to watch it on my TV. A bit of a hassle but it's the best option if you want to own the show physically.
My link preorder on Amazon appears to be 4k bluray. The op says there will be a remaster 2021, for that kind of thing how much a difference will it be from my links 4k bluray?
Normal version is $95.
I'm confused... so is this the thing coming in december? https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Picture-Extended-Theatrical/dp/B08KQBYM1Y/ref=sr_1_52?keywords=4k+blu+ray+movies&qid=1602214258&s=movies-tv&sr=1-52
It's on amazon but it's a bit pricey
Lucas quietly released the original versions on DVD years ago and no one bought them and people went out and bought the special editions. He decided to stop producing them and now they are out of print.
Here is a IV
Here is V
I mean, those of us in the US can get the box set on Amazon for... $250.
[link] It is 58.99 pounds which is 79 dollars they do ship to USA. The DVD is Region 2 so you need a region free dvd player like an Oppo or u can reset your PC hard drive to Region 2. Google info how to do that
That is a Japanese import. No dub. The dub will be by Funimation.
You can play Japanese Blu-Rays on a NA Blu-Ray player (including a PS4). We're both Region A. But you will need a 4K player for 4K discs.
There really is no "extended edition" (correction: there are some fan edits of the movies that reintegrate deleted scenes back into the films, but there is no official extended edition) of the films, but there are several options. If you want the most up-to-date, high quality version then any of the Blu-Ray box sets will do. The slight catch is that the versions on the Blu-Rays arent exactly the versions that were shown in theaters in the 70's and 80's. The story is exactly the same and (in my opinion) the changes weren't significant enough to impact my enjoyment of the films, but some fans are purists and nothing but the theatrical versions will do. If your uncle is one of these people then you are going to want to look for the limited edition DVDs that have the theatrical cuts included as a bonus disc.
Ep. 1-3 are essentially the same as they appeared in theaters, so any old copy you want to pick up will do.
You want the Limited Edition. It has both the special edition that was available at the time and a bonus DVD of the theatrical version. New copies are a bit pricy, but you can usually find better prices on eBay.
The one I got isn't hd but has all the extra features. It's this one, [link]
I'd rather have all the extra scenes without hd but it's personal preference. It's a white box one.
It's really easy to find searching Amazon but here you go.
And they are also not sourced.
Here's all that I can do for you, buy this DVD. The second disc includes the original 1977 theatrical release of the film. Go to chapter 35, time 1:19:49. Hear the clunk of the stormtrooper hitting his head. It's there. I promise you.
I remember back in '95 when I first read a list of Star Wars Easter eggs. I immediately put my tape into my VCR and saw and heard the goof myself for the first time. This was pre-Special Editions. I can only give you my word on this, unless you want to come over and watch Star Wars this weekend.
>For the original trilogy might as well download the despecialized version, only way to not get the abominations that are sold right now.
Nah not the only way
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (Limited Edition) [link]
Yes, I'm talking about the 15 anniversary version (white box). Can you confirm this includes the uncut episodes? Thank you very much.
2006, they have a problem though, lots of digital noise and artifacting in them. Harmy's Despecialized Editions are the best way to watch the original trilogy, with the laserdisc being the 2nd best.
I'll give you that the netflix originals aren't available on blu-ray, and that malcolm isn't available anywhere thanks to the ridiculous costs of all the licensed music.
EDIT: Apparently Malcolm in the middle is available on DVD! I had no idea, last time I checked was a year or so ago.
I used to be obsessed with getting every version on VHS and DVD that I could. Very happy to have this set on DVD. The unaltered version was a bonus feature.
Saw your post on Star Wars. I bought the 2011 Blu-Ray and DVD Combo from Amazon. The DVD has the secondary audio track for the visually impaired. My wife enjoyed it greatly. All 6 episodes were described, but only on the DVD disc. I used Handbrake to pull the audio description track, but it is accessible on the Audio Setup menu. Hope this helps.
Episodes 4-6: [link]
Episodes 1-3: [link]
These versions have the original theatrical versions. I own all three.
> star wars saga on blu-ray
I won't buy you 1-3 because those were terrible. I will buy you 4-6 though if you put it on your Amazon wishlist and PM the link to me.
**Widescreen Feature (For Both Versions Full Screen and Widescreen) - original theatrical movie version in dolby 2.0 surround"
Some TV channels are showing them before the movie launches. Also the Blu Ray set is like $30 and I'm sure you can find some used dvd store or look online and find them.
Amazon has sets for like $30 not the best editions but major plot and characters stayed the same, some sound effects got ruined in my opinion: [link]
Also Itunes, Amazon, and Playstation sell the movies digitally and Playstation was having a sale last week if not still this week on them.
That's the original theatrical version, no CGI stuff.
They are already available on DVD (no Blu-ray) and have been for many years:
They are widescreen (non-anamorphic) and are an official release. Star Wars doesn't even have the "Episode IV: A New Hope" in the opening crawl.
Star Wars IV: A New Hope (Limited Edition) [link]
This is the dvd version that I have. Disc 1 is the special edition, disc 2 is the original theatrical.
Mine wasn't a box-set. They released, for a limited time, a special edition DVD which had the SE version on one disc and then a separate disc with the theatrical release.
It was a limited edition, and is no longer available directly from Amazon, but some of Amazon's merchants still have it.
remember - if having the theatrical version of A New Hope (or other original trilogy movies) is important to you, you'll need to get them another way
This is suprisingly cheap compared to what it sometimes is
It's harder to find than it should be. You can get it on a bonus disk on this special edition DVD set
Or possibly a torrent somewhere. You know you're in business if the title crawl just says "STAR WARS", without the "Episode IV"
Theatrical versions, completely unaltered where released on DVD, and still available on Amazon.
This took me about 5 seconds to find...
I own all three dvds. They are each 2-disc with teh special editions on one disc and theatrical on the other. I'm not sure how I can prove it but I'm sure google can help you there. All are original theatrical versions, key being theatrical (ie...not the THX remasters).
EDIT: Wrong link.
Look for these (I have them): [link]
EDIT2: Example for A New Hope: [link]
