I totally understand that struggle. I ordered some aluminium wire but sometimes even that wire with the least width was too thick. So I got thin copper wire (the kind used for electrical stuff), but it was wrapped in plastic, which i had to remove manually. That wire can be a bit too thin, so if i needed increased strength and width i twirled it around itself.
