I highly suggest the Astro A50, you can get it for $200 or less from Astro on Amazon. Astro also offers an extended warranty for it.

Fantastic sound and extremely comfortable. I use the shit out of mine and have 0 issues.

Not to mention, you can always use the A50 on like 4 other platforms too.

Astro A50 is what I'm using currently. These are amazing and came in original, untouched packaging. I am a snob about audio and these are passable as really good headphones for the money. Also, build quality is solid and they breath really nice for extended gaming.

I don't know if it's too expensive but I jumped on the astro a50 for $99 on Groupon and damn they are nice. I think amazon still has them for $120. It's worth spending the extra $ for the quality. You can pick up a refurbished pair of Astro A50s for $120 from Amazon. At that price, I think they're a no-brainer. Moving them between PS4 and Laptop would be a huge pain in the ass, though, I think.

If we're talking new, sub $100, then I think Golds are the best bet.

Can't help you with wireless options for the gym though, sorry. You'd be better off having a dedicated pair, I think, as generally the PS4 will need some kind of adapter for wireless 'phones.

If you're using solely for gaming, get the A50s. They are far and beyond above the rest. If you want it for gaming and to take around listening to music away from home, get the QC35s.

Since I got mine they've made an updated version specifically for he Xbox One which run around $299. But the 1st version works perfectly. The ones I have can't connect via bluetooth to my phone to listen to music though. Not sure if they included that in the newest version.

The QC35s are great for music listening or watching movies on a laptop/tablet.

Whatever you do, just don't get the 800x.

I use the Astro A50s. They are pretty pricey but they work pretty damn well from what I've been told. A friend of mine also has one of those Snowballs. Do note that the snowball has a cardioid and omni mode. It picks up sound well although I was able to hear the guy's washing machine.
