Try your tube out during the day pointed at a distant object like a building or a light post. Don't ever point it at the sun, think magnifying glass and ants except it's your eyes
I'd look into different eyepieces. 25mm would provide great shots of the moon, some larger objects and stat clusters. A 15mm would get you your planets
Phone mounts are pretty cheap, easy find on Amazon, metal, not plastic. A 25mm for DSO's, use the stock eyepieces as well until you get the hang of it.
