You could get a VR headset like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive or get a 1440p high refresh rate monitor.
I have a Rift and this Asus monitor (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4ENDXR/?tag=pcpapi-20) and Ill say over and over again, the monitor is a better upgrade.
A VR headset is A LOT OF FUN and I cannot stress that enough. Especially if you get the whole family in playing around with it. But day to day, the monitor is an insanely impactful upgrade.
OP WAIT, I'd ditch the ROG swift and grab the ASUS PG278QR. Its not only 165HZ 1440p with g-sync 27", but its 200 dollars cheaper on amazon than the one you've listed.
Then, use that extra funds to swap out the 1070 for a 1080
I currently have the ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27in 1440p 165hz overclocked. 1ms response time G-sync
Doesn't get any better than that at that price. I think right now on amazon its around $430USD

Thanks a lot for the reccomendations I'll look more into them, I've also looked into some monitors as well and this has caught my eye, it seems really good. But it's DP and not TP like you said, but it has a display port like you said.
https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR
I’m still using a gtx 980 card. Is this gsync monitor any good? The warehouse price with 20% off seems really good.

If you're buying from amazon, they occasionally have the option to spread the payment out over the course of 5 months, it's just a different purchase option. No finance charges, additional paper work or anything like that.
This seems to be a popular monitor.
https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR/
$569 or 114/mo for 5 months.
So, a few days ago I was interested in a 4K HDR 144Hz monitor. Well after looking at prices and prioritizing things, I've decided to just go for framerate for now - I can get a 4K HDR TV with OLED at a decent price. Trying to combine all 3 of these was a little too expensive.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4ENDXR/
Did I do good? I went for GSync because it's supposed to be superior to FreeSync.
> Also get a 1440p 144Hz IPS monitor with this level of build.
And I highly recommend going with a Gsync monitor if he can save up for it on the side. I upgraded from a cheap 60 hz 1080p TN panel to a 144 hz IPS gsync monitor. It's like I'm looking through liquid glass at pure fluid color. I can't even describe it.

Before I got this monitor, I never even knew what gaming was.
Btw, this is the monitor I currently use, it's not an ultra- wide, but I still highly recommend it. The 165hz powered from a 1080ti is just gorgeous.

Hey there!
It is nvidia. I messed up and didn’t know about the g sync.
Also I was leaning towards this but is is a TN panel. A lot of ppl say it is great but should I go with the one that is the IPS version ?
I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck and just all around great deal.
Thanks for asking these questions.
I intend to just use it for gaming and slight YouTube and steaming.
I don’t need top of line speed. I don’t “competitively” game but am an avid gamer.
I found a good deal on this monitor
Would the be like a middle road?
Please suggest away.
Thanks

I have the TN panel and have no regrets :)
Dont believe everything you read online. A majority of people don't know what they're talking about or how to adjust settings. That being said if you go with a VA panel, such as the Asus ROG PG278QR you will have little to worry about. IPS monitors are more of the lottery in this range. And you can get them at a decent price new, https://www.amazon.com/PG278QR-2560x1440-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515593782&sr=8-1&keywords=PG278QR
See if this is on sale in your country. It's considerably cheaper in the US for prime members today. I know it's TN, but there is an IPS version available. Plus you can also use color profiles which make my VG248QE look like an IPS.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4ENDXR/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I18HE6GITD4ENW&colid=BS3G4QUTL57A
If you're always playing at a solid 240 (or higher preferably) then you're golden. If you're having trouble making that than you should turn down your graphics. Otherwise G-sync is a good idea. If you're looking for something to upgrade to I use a PG279Q and I really like it. I have trouble running some games cough pubg cough on ultra at 1440p 165hz with my 1080TI so it wont be obsolete for a while.
Professional Opinion: Do not buy a 4k monitor for an FPS. Go with a 2k with 144hz. Spend the money, the monitor will outlive your GPU anyways. 4k are not up to par yet until next gen HDMI/Display Port.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4ENDXR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's not cheap, especially to ship to where you are I would imagine. But this monitor has kept me happy since I bought it at launch. I run 3 of them now.
Take the wife out to dinner and get her nails done before you break the news to her though.
Also, I have a very similar rig. Just slightly upgraded mobo, more RAM, and larger case for liquid cooling.
If you want something cheap to play on while you save up (and can use as a secondary monitor if you have desk space), I'd go with the BenQ brand. Cheap and reliable, just geared more toward consoles.
I don't honestly think anyway get's lucky with their display, it just bothers some less than others. Even all the professional reviews mention BLB just at different levels.
I know you didn't ask, but I wouldn't go with a TN panel. It seems you are aware of the poor viewing angles, but even if you sit dead on, the top and bottom of the display are going to be off (just my experience). If I had to get a 27" I would consider the ASUS PG278QR 27".
Good luck with whatever you decide on.
TN screens aren't all shitty. The cheaper ones can be but the more expensive ones are fine. For gaming, I prefer a TN. My main monitor, ASUS PG278QR 27", for my desktop is a TN and it cost me about $600 on sale. All my laptops have TN displays with no complaints. Unless you're doing photography or some type of graphics work, a TN display is fine.
While not cheap, ASUS PG278QR 27". For when you want (and can do, 'cause what can't Ti do!) the extra FPS, you can OC your monitor to 165hz ;).
^^there ^^are ^^probably ^^better ^^options ^^available ^^now
Once I am ready and this drops to about $500ish this what ill get ASUS 27" 165hz 1ms 1440p GSYNC
Should I go for the PG278QR? From you guys it seems like the best option.
I had terrible headaches and burning eyes quite often at work but when gaming at home it wasn't all that bad. At home I use this monitor whereas at work I have to use 3 cheap dell screens.
I bought a pair of glasses at the optician's specifically for blue light filtering. They were very expensive but definitely worth the price. I haven't had any issues at work any more. They were +- 350 euros so you might be better off investing in a new monitor if you were to spend that much money.
The glasses you mention are definitely a cheaper option but I have no experience with those.
It's actually a PG278QR, and yes he is still using it. https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR
Current PC Specs panel says PG279Q which is incorrect, I'll update the panel when he gets the RTX 3090.
I made a spec list if you are interested in other parts of the setup.
I don't mean to be negative, but I think that you can probably do better barring some sort of separate circumstances. That felt fairly expensive to me, so I went ahead and stuck together a PCPartPicker list for basically the same thing that you have here, and it looks like that's probably worth about $2500 after tax/shipping? If you have a 4k budget, and don't mind spending towards the top of that including monitors, you could add a pair of nice 4k panels and fit within the space, or even give VR a try, if that appeals and you have the home-space.
It's fine if you like it, and want to go for it, but if it's more about not wanting to do the assembly, I'd really recommend you give it a try. It's not too hard to stick all these things together, and the people around here tend to be very friendly and helpful.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
To answer your actual question, I think you should probably be looking in the 27" range for either a 1440p or 4k monitor with G-Sync.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4ENDXR https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWGY9MG
Asus generally does a good job with their gaming monitors, and if you're looking for high quality, those are probably a good starting point. Up to you if you like the look or not. I'm a fan of Dell, but I think their G-Sync one in this size is generally not so well reviewed?
If VR is a thing you're interested in, the Oculus kit is about 500, and the Vive is about the same, and they need to run at around 90 fps all the time, which your graphics card of choice would definitely handle.
Hope any of this helps.

Here's the only two that suit your needs I could find on Amazon:
Or with FreeSync (according to MSI, it's G-Sync-Compatible):
I'm rocking this monitor... it's amazing! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4ENDXR/
this worked. however it only works as long as the other screen is off. But that just means that it's the other screen that's not working, so at least now I am closer to finding the problem. the other screen isn't a 4k screen but it does have hdcp 2.2 status active or at least so I though https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR so I'm getting new cables for that, too.
anyway, thank you king stranger for your help!
something like this https://www.amazon.com/Swift-PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR

Both have a stand that fits better on my desk, GSYNC in 30-165hz range. Not curved, but I'm willing to sacrifice that.

You don't need a beast of a PC for web design so the specs don't matter that much.
One of the biggest hardware improvements for web design is not which monitor you're using, but how many monitors you're using. Being able to have the browser on one monitor and your editor on the other is a game-changer.
It's not a bang for your buck option, but I'm about to upgrade to high-res, high refresh rate monitors like this, same refresh rate as my current monitors but higher resolution. Once you've gone above 120Hz it's hard to go back to 60Hz - everything is that much smoother, even just moving the cursor around.
edit: PC Part Picker is a solid starting point for looking into any hardware - sort by price, brand, specs, etc. It's a good way to find sales.
https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX65525 27" IPS 1440p 165hz G-Sync. This seems to be the one everyone is drooling over. Seems to already be a hot buy at $699 previously.

If I was buying a monitor right now I would get the ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” 2560x1440 1ms 165Hz G-SYNC. It's $603.
I've had this monitor for about a year now and absolutely no regrets.
Sounds like you may be experiencing some frame drops, which would lead me to recommend a G-sync or Free-sync monitors.
Since you are used to 180hz, a step down to anything less than 144 will be noticeable so a 144+ display is what you are probably looking for.
In that case it relies on your resolution, and whether you have a beastly dual 1080ti system or a single lesser card.
For the higher resolution monitor I would go for the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278QR
and for a lower resolution panel I would go for something like a ASUS ROG SWIFT PG248Q
I am a little biased towards ASUS because every experience I have had with them has been great, BENQ is also a great manufacturer in my experience.
Yes, that is PG279Q.
PG278QR - TN panel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4ENDXR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

You can take off one of the 32GB kit and put it toward either Asus ROG Swift PG278QR or PG279Q. If you plan to play games like Destiny or game for the graphic quality over competitive performance then get IPS panel. If you want performance over quality for competitive edge then get TN panel.
Can't really help with the decision, but you can get the Asus one for about $20 cheaper than your link if you go through Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Screen-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
I think it's this one. Which is the newer model (and $100 less) of the one you sent me.
You should get an ASUS ROG Swift monitor, they are the best around.
ASUS PG278QR $640 or Dell S2716DG $550 ?
Both 27" 144hz gsync 1440p
what you know, it's the one I got lol, didn't even realize it till I googled your monitor and came up to the web page I bought it from lol
https://www.amazon.com/PG278QR-G-SYNC-Gaming-Screen-Monitor/dp/B01N4ENDXR
I don't quite understand why so many monitors can turn sideways now. Not sure what people would use that for.
If you're a gamer, you're better off with a TN display. If you're working with graphics and want better color, you're better off with IPS. All my monitors and displays on my laptops are TN, including my $700 Asus PG278QR 27" 2560x1440 165Hz G-Sync monitor, and they all look great. If you're on a budget, you're most likely going to get a TN display and there's nothing wrong with that.
My mistake it's PG279qr. ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” 1440p 1ms 165Hz DP HDMI G-SYNC Gaming Monitor with Eye Care https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4ENDXR/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_MAvhCbKPPEX64
It's a bit of a waste of money though.
For less you could've gotten a PG278QR and the same width in resolution but 1440p in height. And still with 160Hz refresh rate.
Edit: Nevermind, OP's UW is in 1440P so that's fine, looks like product page on amazon isn't up to date. But a 1080P ultrawide would've been a bad buy.
