I'm looking at getting into longboarding - my budget is about $150 CDN. Literally just to get to the coffee shop about a 15 minute walk from my house but I'm sick of walking. I have no intentions of using it other than to get to places around town. I was looking at this - https://www.amazon.ca/Atom-Drop-Deck-Longboard-41-Inch/dp/B0056IXSEQ/ref=pd_bxgy_468_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5EMPK7BPXMX9225DSWJR
After browsing this subreddit it appears people fucking despise Atom. I weigh literally nothing (102lbs) any advice would be greatly appreciated. (Preferably purchase off Amazon as my local skate shop only has boards for $400+)
I've been using this atom dropdeck for the past year almost daily and love it, but unfortunately the fault line imaged runs across the entire head of the board and indicates that the wheels are basically about to snap off. I'm thinking of trying to salvage the rest and just replace the deck itself, but there don't seem to be a ton of companies that sell just the deck, and if they do it doesn't exactly look like I'd be saving any money. Any shops/brands you'd recommend?
For reference, I am ~280lbs and like the stability of the drop deck, so that is what I am looking for. This one isn't a drop through, my assumption is the dropthrough drop decks would be even less durable for a heavier guy.
Link to the board I have: https://www.amazon.com/Atom-Drop-Deck-Longboard-41-Inch/dp/B0056IXSEQ/ref=sr\_1\_1?keywords=atom+drop+deck&qid=1639699770&sr=8-1
Hi there, /r/longboarding I am looking to get a premade longboard.
It will be my first one and I will be using it to cruse, maybe if I get comfortable even do tricks with it later.
I got 2 problems though... First problem is tried to skate in the past and I couldn't do it (tho. I wasn't trying very hard), mainly because of balance issues.
I looked around and there are some different styles of boards, I red somewhere that a board with a low center of gravity would be easier to learn on, is that true?
And assuming a yes, would you recommend buying this board?
Ty, for your time :)
Any recommendations for replacing my Atom Drop-deck board 41"?

White Wave Bamboo Longboard vs Atom Drop Deck Longboard. Im not sure which one to go for https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056IXSEQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_wJ4JFbYHGVWFN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0141NGZ64/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cJ4JFbQE2X60T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I had a crappy board made by some generic brand. The board looked like this https://www.amazon.com/Atom-Drop-Deck-Longboard-41-Inch/dp/B0056IXSEQ. It didn’t flex under my feet at all and I think it was way to big and heavy for me when I had it “I was like 5 foot 4 weighing only 90 pounds or so at the time”. And I am willing to pitch in a bit and spend more for a helmet. I don’t know much about brands for the boards but I do know that sector 9 has some really nice looking boards.
