Which are lightweight and comfortable.
BeyereDynamic and AudioTechnica are two great brands. Both primarily make circumaural headphones with a few models that are headsets (headphones with mic). I'd take a look at those and see if any of those are big enough to be useful to you. Also be sure to find a good sale on them.
The other thought I had, and these are pretty rare but a new model comes out from time to time, are "open-aural" headphones where they go over your ears like circumaurual ones do, but they aren't fully enclosed. This makes it so you can hear what's going on around you, but still have all the fidelity of a really great pair of headphones. Not sure if any of these include a mic. Edit: AudioTechnica makes a pair that are "open air" with a mix.
What is the mustard race opinion on these
I've been looking to replace my corsair 2100 that refuse to pair no matter what I do.
The DT990 sounds nothing like the ADG1x. The 990 is more of a v shaped sound with emphasis on the highs and bass. the ADG1x is more of a warm mid rangy kind of sound with a little treble sparkle. The 990 is more of a clear bass and upper mid range/treble headphone with a tighter sound. The ADG1x is a better sound stage and less transparent, but flattering sound. Hard to describe but they sound nothing alike. At all.
AT makes another line of gaming headsets which will sound more like a 990. It's based on the ATM40 which has a pretty flattering sound with similar emphasis as the 990 but maybe a little less treble. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-PDG1-Open-Air-Premium-Microphone/dp/B00OTG9RGE/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1464971818&sr=1-2&keywords=audio+technica+gaming
I'm not aware of where you can get it cheaper in Mauritius, but when looking at "normal" prices, don't forget to factor in shipping and taxes.
If you look for the same item on Amazon.com: Audio Technica ATHPDG1 Open-Air Premium Gaming Headset, Red/Gray/Black: AUDIO-TECHNICA: Home Audio & Theater you'll notice that the price including shipping comes to 152.43 USD. After that you have to add Tax, which you'll pay in Mauritius, and it comes to approx 175 USD. If you convert that to MUR it'll come out to approx 7070 MUR. That seems in line with the price One.O.One is asking.
If you're not set on that specific headset, check out the Cooler Master MH752. It has great reviews online. I bought mine from Compuspeed . They don't have it listed online (they never did, I saw it in person and I guess they sold out too fast and could never list it) so you should probably call instead.
https://youtu.be/QmrkbWslcKs Worth watching. I think the mix amp is a great device and you can get it for $100 right now. For less than 90 you can get a better headset.
For instance: https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-PDG1-Premium-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00OTG9RGE/ref=pd_lpo_23_t_1/143-1207980-1739223?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00OTG9RGE&pd_rd_r=3d76e1da-57be-470d-8b9c-d5f5fb9515b7&pd_rd_w=oZHfz&pd_rd_wg=QTAzp&a... or the closed back for even cheaper
I have very limited DT990 experience (listening to them at guitar center) but I own the Game One and use it on Xbox all the time. I can tell you the Game Ones are with it. A little clamp heavy at first but after a little bit they're one of the most comfortable headsets. Another option in that price range that I also own and use on Xbox are the Audio Technica ATH-PDG1. The Audio Technicas in my opinion need a pad change to be really comfortable, so with them I would recommend the Shure 1840 pads. With the pad change the PDG1 is about $10 cheaper then the Game Ones on Amazon. But you can't go wrong with either choice.

They do make them that come with a mic. Mine are audio technica ath-pdg1. They sound great and are super comfortable, I could wear them all day.
You don't need to get a set that comes with a mic. Any headphones with a 3.5mm jack you can add a mic with one of these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0758RJ56Z/
And I had these saved, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ENMK1DW they were about $50 but just looked and they are now more than double for some reason. They get a lot of good reviews over on /r/headphones
As for how it sounds compared to a receiver. The directional positioning is amazing and much better than multiple speakers for tracking enemies in games. And I am using dolby atmos, I think it sounds better than sonic. Atmos has a free trial and costs a few bucks for a license but worth it.
I tried this yesterday. It's decent, but I won't use it for music.
Its pretty good piece of headphones BUT its not wireless - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OTG9RGE/ref=twister_B00W5QNWK2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 or Razer Tiamat 7.1 which again is not wireless.
