Put your sub on the floor, broheim. Sound quality would also be improved massively if you direct the speakers toward your ears, which will require angling them upward with something like this.
I'd recommend directing the speakers toward your ears using something like this. Unless you listen with your head planted on your desk, this would improve the overall sound experience big time.
Bro, great setup. Get some angled monitor risers for the speakers to point the tweeters at you directly. So much better! (Source: I have the same speakers) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ATK2OS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_TRN4MGK8XP15RJ2SJ6SF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Doesn't look like garbage at all dude! One thing I'd recommend though is moving those speakers farther apart, and if you have something to angle them upwards (like this) that would help the listening experience too. Ideally they'll be pointing more toward your ears.
The monitors you have are great and look really cool in white. Unless you need the money (by selling them) or more desk space I would just keep them. I built some stands to get my monitors to ear height, but you can also have great results with some monitor isolation pads like these: Audioengine DS1 Desktop Speaker Stands, Vibration Damping Tilted Silicone Tabletop Stands (Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ATK2OS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_RCTAW0ZYQ3TAG3DHF496?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
These particular ones might be a bit small for your monitors though.

They make a stand for them! Which is much needed in my opinion for listening angles!
I had them without the sub for about a year or two, once I upgraded to the sub it was a 'what have I been doing this far' moment.
For better sound, use something to raise the speakers a little. Then turn them towards your ears more. This is called toe in, and you'll notice a difference right away.
Using small stands like this may help angle them up towards your ears more.
Thank you!
And yeah, the whole set up is extremely heavy because I also have my PC hanging from the bottom of the desk. It’s supposed to hold up to 350lbs though so I should be good.
Those stands didn’t come with the speakers, but they’re also from Audioengine.
I got them off Amazon here:

Would something like this be a good idea?
Haha yes for sure, I wasn't able to find something nice looking with the stands though. The one from Audioengine is black and not super nice looking, any recommendations?
Just get these and turn the speakers a little so they are pointed at your ears instead of straight ahead. You will notice a significant difference. Hi from Columbia City btw
It might cost a bit more but I would honestly recommend the stands built for those speakers.
The ones I use are rubber/silicone and made by AudioEngine. Here's the Amazon link. If you're not in a rush add them to your wishlist because they go on sale regularly. I think I paid $20.
Those are better than nothing, at least it tries to decouple it from the desk's surface. It doesn't fix the biggest issue of the first reflection, though. I can tell a difference using an isolation platform, but its nowhere the kind of difference you'll get from placing them properly and getting them up off that flat plane. The difference in clarity is more than subtle. Even something like this which angles the speakers upward and provides a bit of isolation works really well on a budget. http://www.amazon.com/Audioengine-ADS1-DS1-PAIR/dp/B002ATK2OS
I just looked that up and I think I have the exact same ones in small!

I’d recommend some little speaker stands…something along these lines.

I’d recommend these little angled speaker stands if you plan on keeping them on a tabletop.
These are the ones I bought https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ATK2OS/
i had a spare pair of 2" silicone speaker risers (similar to this) to set my monitor at an angle and it worked pretty well. something that sits flush with the bottom of the CRT would probably be ideal though so i might swap them out with something like this slant board.

Love the setup. You should put your speakers on some stands to point the tweeters at your ears.
A low profile pair like these should do the trick and look nice:

I bought these
That makes more sense. Although really, you should have them on stands so the tweeters are at ear level. Or at least tilt them upward on something like these.
I was going to put my bookshelf speakers on my giant work surface and I was wondering about something like these Audio Engines or these iron stands or possibly finding some at a thrift store or constructing some out of wood. I though the stool idea was good, but I don't think I have the space for it.
Edit: I forgot about possibly using cinder blocks too.
