STORY TIME
Several weeks ago the ceramic donut I regularly used to store and roll my dice inside shattered because CERAMIC. I opted to buy a hexagonal wooden box as the next place to store my dice since that seemed to be a better long term solution. I ordered an unfinished box from Amazon because I wanted to see what I can do to make it look more presentable (I swear if I could earn a degree in arts and crafts I would).
No amount of Youtube tutorials could prepare me for the ordeal that is staining wood and hot gluing FELT. I overstained some sides and stained against the grain on others. That's without mentioning the hot mess my fingers turned into trying to figure out how to glue felt on the wood.
The box ended up turning into such a flop that I ended up buying a second box to learn from my mistakes. Thankfully the second box turned out to be more presentable and it's currently being engraved. I requested the iconic d20 with a 20 on it because WHY NOT. When they offered the option to have the engraving filled with gold you best believe I went for it.
No pics of the final product yet but I'm optimistic.
One Halloween one-shot in and the box lost my Dwarven War Cleric a drinking contest so I still need to break it in...
