I'm using this mount, the only thing you won't be able to do is tilt the monitor up and down. I don't need that option as I just found the perfect tilt and tightened it.

haha thanks! Here is the monitor arm I use:

This on says it only holds up to 43", but it hasn't had any issues holding the G9 yet. You just really have to torque the bolts down hard.

Not OP, but appears to be this one:

It's this
It feels very secure. Almost difficult to raise the monitor up and down because it's so strong. The tilting mechanism is the weak point, but after tightening it down pretty hard it hasn't been an issue since I got it.
One thing to note, with monitor arms and super heavy monitors attached to a desk is it's prone to wobble. That's mitigateable though if you can get the arm to touch the wall behind the monitor and if you place a large piece of metal under the desk where it clamps (I used a very large wrench), and if your desk is sturdy.
I like the creativity.
As a fellow G9 owner, if this ends up not working for you long term I've been using this just fine. It's super strong and even difficult (at max tightness) to lift the monitor up. And it matches well.
Of course, as soon as I get home I can get some measurements.
Just to give an idea of the mount depth for now here is a link to the mount:
TLDR; I would get the 144hz model unless you can find a great deal on an odyssey.
Hard to say. I have the Odyssey right now and I really love it. Only downside is a pretty concerning ammount of games that don't support true 32:9 if you play alot of fps games. Most games just stretch out the display. Coming from a 144hz 1440p 27" monitor I don't really notice a difference when I can go over 144 fps. You might have some issues running higher settings in games with that card, but honestly not a bad card. Glad you were able to snag one. Many people have the 144hz one and are very happy with it.
I usually throw games up like Mordhau at high-ultra with a 10900k and a 6900xt @ 91 frame average.
Mordhau: 91 Csgo: 300+ Metro exodus: 75ish Insurgency sandstorm: 90 Ascent: 90 (DX 11 cause dx 12 doesn't work for me) Battlefront 2: 100
I also use my monitor for much of my admin for work and the thing is a beast for productivity especially with spreadsheets.
I just bought this as well since I don't want to drop $200+ on an ergo arm and $70 on a HD pivot. I'm installing today and will let you know how it goes if you're interested.
I would get the 144hz model. I don't feel like you would be missing much for the price hike on the odyssey.
Yeah I'm using one from Amazon, this is the one I'm using
AVLT Single 13"-43" Monitor Arm Desk Mount fits One Flat/Curved/Ultrawide Monitor Full Motion Height Swivel Tilt Rotation Adjustable Monitor Arm - White / VESA / C-Clamp / Grommet / Cable Management https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_fabc_E34WCDTKRT5JDRQG7QKA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I bought a monitor arm similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_Yp0.Fb3BMTXQQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have an L desk and the arm can move the monitor to be centered on either desk (not to mention change in height/tilt) which has improved my workflow and backpain from trying to fit myself to the monitor and not the other way around
This mounthas been working perfectly fine for me. It's solid as a rock - just have help getting it set-up and mounted because there will be some inevitable droop when you first put it on. Tighten it up real tight with a slight upward angle and you're golden. Moves up and down easily on this gas arm.
Not sure about his, but I use this one and it's great. Very solid and almost no wobble from my normal use against my desk. So far, after 1 week of use, I have no sag or compression. I would highly recommend it (plus the looks match the monitor).
But I don't think it's the problem. It does have a bit of play - which doesn't help - but I still think I would have movement.
Actually, I know I would. Used it with the included stand for a week. It wasn't as bad as it is now but it still moved a bit.
I know a lot of it is coming from movement in my desk. But, I don't think the solution will be one thing.
And it's not like it's awful. I use it every day. I'm just trying to make my setup the best it can be.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Looks like this one.
FWIW, I have a Samsung CRG9 and this monitor arm has been working well for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0819Q8583/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It says it supports up to 43", but it handles the 49" just fine. The CRG9 is about 28lbs without the stand.
The AVLT Single 13"-43" Monitor Arm Desk Mount Link here it says 43" but it meets the lb weight requirements.
this should prob work for your screen size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583/ref=emc_b_5_t

Here is the monitor stand I'm using. Very sturdy and handles the ultrawide just fine

After much mucking around I got this one from Amazon
AVLT Single 13"-43" Monitor Arm Desk Mount
I have an LG 38GN950 too. I use this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583/ref=twister_B08FQZYJJF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
AVLT Single 13"-43" Monitor Arm Desk Mount fits One Flat/Curved/Ultrawide Monitor Full Motion Height Swivel Tilt Rotation Adjustable Monitor Arm - White/VESA/C-Clamp/Grommet/Cable Management
So far it's doing a wonderful job, been using it for 2 months now. It's holding up my monitor anyway I want, and does not droop. It's also waaaaay more affordable than Ergotrons.
This one is $130 and a 49" monitor should be within the weight limit of the arm, albeit at the top end
Thanks man, clean is definitely what I was going for. This is the monitor arm:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Ergotron HX was another one I looked at but it ultimately I cheaped out. No complaints with this one though.
Are you still looking for a mount? I got one for my G9 and it works great, here's the link if you're interested, actually I just checked and it is currently unavailable, you can add it to a save list or your cart and look into it when it is available.
I can guarantee it holds it in place, only function you will miss out on is tilt. But I don't really tilt my monitor ever, I just move it back and forth or side to side, swivel still works and up and down height adjustments. Here's another link to my imgur of how I use the stand.
This one works great for my 49" AOC.
Not OP either but I'm using this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819Q8583/ Stable, no wobble, and the extra inputs on the base of the stand are a welcome feature.
I use this Amazon arm

Just slung an Odyssey G9 on this. The 38" will be a cake walk for this mount. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0819Q8583/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
At least they replied back quickly and told me it would be January 15th. I just cancelled. I gave my son the HX for his AOC Agon and instead picked up this which works. https://www.amazon.com/AVLT-Single-Monitor-Desk-Stand/dp/B0819Q8583/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 The tilt tightening is a bear but I got it all set.
I also have a 49". Here is the one I used.
They are! They're the ends of two cables that are at least six feet long (didn't measure them before I buried them in the desk's cable trough), and they're not bad at all. Despite the cable length, they power USB-powered external drives no problem, which I wasn't sure they would do. It also has two 1/4" plugs on it; I don't have their cables hooked into anything, but it's nice to know that I could if I wanted to. The monitor arm is an AVLT Single 13"-43" Monitor Arm Desk Mount ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0819Q8583 ). I initially tried a different mount which couldn't handle the monitor, so I had to send it back; this one has been rock solid.
