I've ordered this 40,000 BTU propane powered fire pit table for our patio: http://www.amazon.com/AZ-Patio-Heaters-GS-F-PC-Propane/dp/B008AL8OEU/[1]
It's made of metal with an "antique bronze" finish. I believe that it's powder coated steel. The reviews say that the finish is very prone to scratching and to discoloration if water sits on it. I'd like to nip this in the bud by spraying a protective clear coat on all of the pieces before I assemble it.
What product should I use? Obviously it will need to resist heat without giving off fumes, coming off, or discoloring. It will need to protect from scratches and moisture. Any suggestions? Anything else I should know?
