I bought this one in black on amazon and it’s not expensive. I loved that it was sleeveless and soft. It has snaps all down down back and at the shoulders so the hospital staff had access to everywhere.
Congratulations! My boys are 10 weeks- it’s been so much fun, exhausting, but fun nonetheless!
We bought a Dr. Browns pitcher and prepare all the bottles we need for the night in advance. Initially we tried giving it to them cold, but that felt mean in the middle of the night so we bought bottle warmers. Ours are the Dr. Browns brand, they heat up in like 4 min. which is the time we need to change diapers and settle them into the twin Z.
Honestly, I’ve realized that sometimes you just need to throw money at the problem to make your life easier. Example- 2 bottle warmers, 4 Swaddles, 16 bottles, and 6 bassinet sheets. Having extras of those things keeps me from constantly running the laundry or washing endlessly. On the contrary- babies really do not need a bunch of clothes and outfits. I recommend the kimono style onesies and pjs with two-way zippers, everything else just sits in a drawer unused. The pandemic is still raging where we are and we rarely leave the house, so our boys mainly live in onesies.
I hardcore second one of the other comments in this thread about feeling much better after having the boys out. It was AMAZING getting to sleep on my back again. Keep up with your pain medicine and you’ll hopefully be a-ok.
I personally lived in this gown after my delivery for the first two weeks or so. It was excellent for the hospital and for nursing/skin to skin time at home.
Wishing you luck and sending you all the good vibes!!
Get yourself a really good labor and delivery down. The hospital provides you with some thing but it’s uncomfortable and it didn’t come close to covering me and I hated it so I’m really glad I brought my own. Here’s the one I brought. Baby Be Mine 3 in 1 Labor/Delivery/Nursing Hospital Gown Maternity, Hospital Bag Must Have Also my doctor liked it so much she bought it for herself since she was delivering her own baby two months after me.
So, I got two labor and delivery gowns when I was pregnant that also have breastfeeding access and I wore the living daylights out of them post partum. They were both super comfy and made me feel like a human being in the hospital because I didn’t have to wear those horrid one-size-fits all hospital gowns. (My doctor and nurses loved them too, because they had all the needed access points.)
I also love my pregnancy pillow and I’m still using it for back pain a year after baby was born.
It is also worth noting that something to take her mind off pregnancy discomfort may also be welcome. Mommy gifts are great but sometimes it’s nice to be reminded you are not just an incubator lol. I love gaming and my husband bought me a video game I had really been wanting when I was 6 months pregnant and it was awesome. What does she like? Reading? Gaming? Crafting? Movies? (a new streaming subscription could be great.)
