I second the mini crib. My room is small too. We got the Babyletto Mini Crib which has wheels so it was great to be able to roll it outside the bathroom so I could keep an eye on him while I showered, roll it into the kitchen so he could safely play while I cooked.
We'll be having baby in our room and we're not going to have a ton of room. I wanted to start out with a bassinet, or maybe a pack n' play, but then I learned that mini cribs exist. We'll probably skip the bassinet and just go with a mini crib, and some of them are designed to be more portable, like this one.
For our first I used a pack n play with sleeper attachment, and then a crib. I really hated how bulky it was. Also he grew out of the attachment so quickly that I would hate to spend a lot on a bassinet and have the kiddo out of it that soon. Once my son was out of the attachment he hated the regular pack n play mattress, and would not sleep well on it at all. I've heard this from a lot more mothers than I would expect, given the popularity of the product.
This time around I'm actually looking at getting a mini crib that I can wheel around the house and use much longer than a bassinet. It lets you have the proximity to the baby and crib environment. It is a pretty pricey item in my opinion, but I really think we'll use it. It will also work for us long enough that we won't have to buy a second crib. You can absolutely find them cheaper, the one above was the first one on amazon I saw that had wheels. I have had luck find them in store, and not online.

I am so happy to have the nursery all finished – and with time left to go before he shows up!
I painted the mural myself during quarantine and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully kiddo likes it, too!
Here’s some of the main things we used (with the exception of the rocking chair, which my MIL bought sometime in the 80s, lol) –
