We have hardwood floors too. We put down thee foam pads which really help him and helped clean up. Any time he throw up or make a mess you just pick up the squares and throw them in the sink BalanceFrom Kid's Puzzle Exercise... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D7SS1XE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
How big are we talking... like 6’ x 6’ ish, or more like 10’ x10’? If it can fit in a standard washing machine, it’s probably small enough that you could block it on foam interlocking mats. You may have to buy two sets, but it would allow you to actually block it evenly, and you’d have them on hand for all your future projects. (In my experience, steam blocking only part of projects doesn’t work, and doing them piecemeal doesn’t give me the results I want—remember that acrylic will relax completely under steam, so you can end up with a pretty lumpy finished project if you try to do it in parts.)
I just finished my MK3S and heard how loud it was compared to how everyone is saying it was quiet online.
Turns out certain tables drastically amplifies sound. Temporarily put it on carpet and print again. If the sound disappears, then you can start going online to find a solution. Don’t keep it on carpet as that can cause micro fibers to get stuck in the printer.
Personally I am using 2 layers of the kids foam floor pads and it completely silenced the printer. Something like this, except mine is black: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01D7SS1XE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CaiNFbWD6WCPS
It’s solid enough that there’s no wobble during printing, yet there’s no sound since the foam absorbs all of it.
