I still have my docs, which were bought in my late teens (40 now). Mine have lasted mainly because I prefer a boot with a more flexible sole and better support.
In case you're looking for other great boots. I've bought these Bates boots twice now (this specific one, I loathe all their other boots after trying 3 other 'models'), and the first pair lasted over 10 years with me wearing them every single day, to everything from work to playing paintball. They're incredibly light, more comfortable than sneakers and have some of the best traction I've ever had in a boot. I would polish them every once in a while and they'd look brand new. You can't really resole them though, so you've get 10~ years and that's it.
