I mean this in no way to be condescending, nor do I mean this to even remotely represent complete resource for learning Bayesian theory... but... I have to tell you that when my son was born a colleague bought me the book "Bayesian Probability for Babies" to read to him and I was extremely impressed for it's ability to communicate the key principles of Bayesian thinking. Some of the other resources already listed by other commenters will get you into the details and math when you need it, but hey, if you're talking to a bunch of non-technical folks, I bet if you'd find success if you took the examples/concepts from this book and used them as a foundational introduction to Bayesian thinking.
