Here’s the link from amazon, but I bought it from the Apple Store
Unplug or cycle the power strip on the TV, Receiver and ATV. This resets the HDMI CEC, which can be finicky.
If it continues to come and go, make sure you are using a 2.1 HDMI cable. This oneis recommended by Apple and solves many issues.
I had the same screen flickering with my NUC11 i5 Performance. Some others had the same issue and they all reported that upgrading the HDMI cable solved their issue...it also solved it for me.
It's not the cheapest cable, but a nice piece of technology: Belkin AV10175bt2M-BLK
This could be from the frame rate. I had some issues with video stuttering when streaming hdr and/or dv content. The problem went away when I bought a Belkin hdmi cable. Lots of people here say premium cables are a waste but they worked for me. This is it, it will be cheaper if you are patient enough to wait. The Zeskit Maya cables are also good. Food for thought.

I agree with you. I hate to buy new cables because it seems like I just did (but it's probably been a few years now). I have these belkins stored in my cart. HDMI.
I had issues with video until I bought the Belkin hdmi cables that Apple recommends. They are over $30 on Amazon but even "good" cables of other brands gave me trouble. Other user reviews on Amazon will verify. I have a Denon x1600h and a C9. Not much experience with good audio sources. This is the cable I have. I use one for the ATV4K box and one for arc/earc between tv and avr. The audio shows on my Denon as multi channel or something like that but supposedly it is getting the correct info just with a different description. I have a Shield Pro and to be honest I like it better. When it is connected to my Denon it plays anything from my Plex server including all the lossless audio formats like DTSX and DTS MA and Atmos and it tells me what it is. Your ATV connected to that excellent avr should be handling any audio. The sdr/match content recommendation is good advice. The cables might be your weak link.
The hdmi cable may be the issue. I had video issues with 4k and dv streams, flickering if I remember correctly. I had what I thought were good cables but after some reading I saw that some recommended the Belkin cables that Apple sells. Amazon reviews said the cables were the fix for the ATV4K problems. Sure enough, everything is good since I got the Belkin cable. Lots of people say it's too expensive and overkill but it works for me. This is the one. Another cable may work for you but if you have any snags...
I have an ATV4K 2019 and had issues with my C9, video flickering I believe on HDR and DV. I'm not sure if there were also audio issues or not, it's been a while. I tried different cables but none helped until I tried this one. You will hear that expensive cables are a waste of money but in this case it made a difference. You will see that in the reviews. Not sure that is your problem but if I had an ATV4K I'd use this cable.
I have a C9 and an Apple TV 4k 2019 and I don't feel the audio or video is better or worse from either source. I will say I had issues with the video on my ATV4K until I got the Belkin hdmi cable that Apple recommends. I've used several high quality cables but the only one that fixed my trouble was the Belkin. It is expensive, about $30 and many say it is BS and a waste of money. I have a lot of cables, all top quality up to and including 2.1 cables. The Belkin worked for me. If you check on Amazon others will confirm. FYI.
The cable that came with the ps5 is too short for my setup ,I have this belkin cable already , is it good enough ? My tv is the Sony 900e from 2017 , so not 2.1

If you have the 4K Apple TV, 4K tv, a good internet speed to allow 4K streaming, and most importantly the right HDMI cable you will get it. Seems Apple TV is very iffy about the HDMI cable and if it senses the cable is not up to the task it won’t give you 4K or may skimp on the HDR and ATMOS. I had problem with the HDMI cables and finally got the thing working with Belkin High Speed HDMI. Below is the link.
I actually fixed the issue by swapping my Amazon basics hdmi cable for the Belkin hdmi cable. Here’s a link to it on amazon,
Let me know if this fixes your problem like mine.
this is what I have on both sides. Belkin HDMI 2.1 complainant Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI Cable, Optimal Viewing for Apple TV and Apple TV 4K, Dolby Vision HDR, 2 M/6.ft – Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N83B9X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jR8BFb092788V
Make sure the tv firmware is up to date. Do a clean install of the nvidia drivers. Leave display setting on default instead of nvidia control panel settings. Make sure you have a hdmi cable that is hdmi 2.1 ready. This is the one I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N83B9X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H1h7DbDKWDC3W
This one’s not cheap, but it works for the couple of 4K devices I’ve thrown at it, to the top standards. I’ve had others that didn’t work and I’d rather pay for it to work. Done with experimenting.

It's entirely possible you're right. I've been out of the Home Theater game since 2015 or so and perfectly happy with my 1080p/7.1 setup. I didnt ever think cables mattered and always just ran monoprice cables. And now I was getting all these issues and I found that cable when I was searching/complaining online about my TV not passing the dolby vision test. This is that cable:
They sell this cable at the Apple Store and Apple's website and its supposed to be the 'de facto' cable for people having Dolby Vision issues. its supposedly rated at 48gbps. Its possible that the cable is a lemon, its too late to return them, but I suppose I could swap them out to see if that changes anything.
I've asked about my problem on this and other forums, and everyone is chiming in with a recommendation for a cable that will 'definitely work', so idk, maybe I have to keep trying till it gets resolved. I sort of wish there was a sticky for 'tried and true cables' that work for different brands.
Doubt it's the unit, but a swap is in order if you still can. You can always turn off Match Content (both Dynamic Range and Frame Rate) or try the 48Gbps Belkin cable, which is made for that fussy SOB Apple TV 4K.
I just bought this cable, it'll be here tomorrow, I'll let you know if it indeed snake oil.
I appreciate the cable change recommendation but I have gone through 3 types of cables including the Vizio OEM cable, AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (18Gbps), and finally the Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI Cable (48Gbps). If a 48Gbps cable (at 3x the price) that supports the latest standard HDMI 2.1 (4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz) can't do 4K/60Hz then it can't be a cable/bandwidth issue.
when I got the x900f, I got all my devices to run on the HDMI 2.1 belkins and everything looks and runs amazing. Made specifically for apple tvs and their dolby vision streaming so you know it has high enough bandwidth: https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AV10175bt2M-BLK-Vision-Optimal-Viewing/dp/B075N83B9X
Guess who referred those cables to me? Someone else who has the same problem, and with those it stopped. Not for me though. Then, someone else referred me other cables that said THOSE made it stop for them, I bought those, it didn't stop. I have tried 5 different cables. I am fed up with trying different cables since that is not fixing the issue. So, if I sound a bit perturbed, it's because I have been told this same thing multiple times now.
Is this the cable you are referring to? https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Ultra-Vision-Optimal-Viewing/dp/B075N83B9X
Samsung is coming to my home now to do a TV repair, a technician remotely went through my TV and everything checked out with him with what he could do remotely. So, I will find out what is going on in the next few days when they arrive.

No change in behaviour with the Belkin cable over the bog standard one.
Thanks for your input.
I had trouble until I switched to this Apple recommended 2.1 HDMI cable.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075N83B9X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the cable I bought, having looked at it, I am not sure it is 2.1.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0919GTQS9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the cable I began to use when I first got my C1.
Reckon this sheds any light lads?
I initially bought a cheaper cable on Amazon and it couldn’t handle being set to 120hz lol.. returned and thought to use the 4K HDMI that my cable company gave us with our box... it could push 4K@120hz in settings but it was unstable even at 100hz (definitely not a 48gbps cable).
So I purchased an AudioQuest BUT they are prohibitively expensive ($65 for 2.5foot, I purchased by accident thinking it was 2.5m). I found the Belkin 6 foot HDMI 2.1 for $55 on Amazon (but I believe it sells for $65-$70) and so far both those cables have been stellar for HDR gaming in .

Swap you cable for a certified cable if not using one already. Poorly made/terminate cables have a lot of cross talk and choke when the bandwidth jumps up.
In the first weeks of owning a C1, I was dealing with a bit of judder and stuttering (not as noticable on the prior LCD). Tinkered with TruMotion for a while. But, I can't stand the effect even on Cinema Motion.
Determined it came down to my HDMI cable after troubleshooting. The one that appeared to resolved the issues was a HDMI 2.0 certified; So I purchased a few certified cables - nothing crazy:

Testing/troubleshooting as using Roku Ultra, nVidia Shield Pro, and PS5. In fact, after swapping the PS5 HDMI for the one above, I went from 4K60 @ 4:2:0 to 4K120 @ 4:4:4 (RGB) capable in PC Mode.

The only HDMI input on my tv that supports arc is HDMI 4, which I have connecting soundbar to tv. I'm running an hdmi from the atv to the soundbar. Both cables are Belkin 2.1 cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075N83B9X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
I do have a cable box plugged into HDMI 1 on the tv, but I don't think that would or should affect anything.
I had trouble with my ATV4K until I bought a Belkin Ultra HD cable for it. The reviews on
amazon will confirm. This one.

The cables don't cost hundreds, they should also come with a QR code which you can scan to confirm their credentials.
Ps5 hdmi cable included in the box is too short , is this belkin cable the same? I already have it
https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AV10175bt2M-BLK-Vision-Optimal-Viewing/dp/B075N83B9X
From the looks of things, you'd need a "Ultra High Speed" 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cable to have enough bandwidth to transmit video at 1440p/240Hz.
This Belkin cable seems to fit the description and can be bought at Amazon
I recommend not using the cables that comes with your console. Ever. For any console. They are lower quality. This is what you should be getting, I own 4 of them : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075N83B9X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used different cables as well. I have now

It's been perfect so far. Runs 4K 120hz HDR 444 with no issues
i just went with the $30 belkin that always has worked for me no matter what device i run it through with dolby vision.

these are pretty good as well
I purchased a Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI Cable from Amazon yesterday. It's the cable that Apple recommends for their Apple TV 4k so its guaranteed to be able to play Dolby Vision content. It should arrive by tomorrow. I am going to use that cable as the one that connects the receiver to the tv. So after I swap out the Amazon Basics HDMI cable for the Belkin HDMI Cable this should isolate if its truly an HDMI cable issue. I will update you tomorrow with the results.
Here is the link for the Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI Cable if you want to check it out:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075N83B9X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I can't remember if it was on AVS forums or somewhere else, but someone else was having a similar problem and posted about Denon recommending this specific cable (it's basically the only one that goes to 48 Gbps right now), and I found the cable on Amazon and the reviews are FULL of people having similar issues (most having success of the cable fixing their problem)... So, I figured I'd give it a shot...
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075N83B9X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And yes, I had the problem with the Denon on, but I do really think it only affects 4K/HDR output, cause with the receiver on, my Apple TV (non 4K) and PS4 (non 4K) haven't had any issues... And I haven't run any 4K stuff through my Xbox yet (although everything non-4K is converted to a 4K signal), only my Blu Ray player (which is what's having the problem)... I also had to make sure ALL of the CEC/ARC stuff was off (I think that's what was causing *some* of my issues)...
I think you're onto something in regards to the cables...
I went ahead and purchased this one.
It'll be here Thursday, I look forward to testing it out.
Try the Belkin 48Gbps HDMI cable. Solves a lot of that kind of stuff. The ATV 4K is a fussy SOB about the cable, so much so that Apple had Belkin make this cable recommend it on their support pages.
Get the Belkin HDMI cable. It's higher bandwidth and solves a host of odd issues. Apple TV is very fussy about the cable, which is why Apple recommends this cable.
If you have the Apple TV 4K, then yes, you need 48 GBPS. Otherwise DOLBY Vision won't work.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N83B9X/ref=psdc_3236443011_t1_B01MZ2Z4UF
Maybe try this cable. It's made for the ATV4K and solves odd issues.
