I got myself an MXL 990 and if you’re good at EQ’ing and have a good sounding room to record in it’s great for the money. Also looking into the Rode NT1 and the AKG c214.

The Montauk Project (a band I record and engineer as well) also uses the MXL 990 for vocals on their album Belly of the Beast.
