The Ben Hogan book, but not Five Lessons. His biography. I read it in college.
It taught me to suck it up & deal with disappointment because there's plenty of folks out there who had a tougher hand dealt to them than me.
I had heard it from reading the below book several years back. It actually said he played for position most of the time but when he would participate in long drive competitions (as many pros did back then; usually after practice rounds) he was surprisingly long for not being a large guy.

The reason some people thought he came off as cold was because he didn't suffer fools. The guy had a tough early life & literally made himself a millionaire in sport and business from nothing. So I could see how he didn't have much patience for some folks. Definitely recommend this bio of him.
