Yea This BenQ goes on sale regularly and it is a way better monitor in my opinion
Thanks for the quick response. I am now thinking about getting that Samsung monitor.!I was also thinking of getting this Benq Monitor. Is the Benq monitor also a good choice or should I stick to the Samsung for reliability?
I have a BenQ monitor and it works perfectly. You will need an hdmi to usb-c adapter (or cable of you want the cleanest setup) but it dose not cause any lag.
Here's this BenQ one that looks promising, 1080p IPS panel, 60hz with a 4ms latency and with a fine price
It isn't 1ms but to be honest, the difference between 1ms to 4ms wouldn't be that big, most 1ms monitors that companies advertise are not really 1ms as they tend to measure the latency differently, try to check some reviews for a certain monitor that you want to make sure the latency is true as is advertised
i'm a little new to this so pardon my ignorance. i just ordered this monitor:
https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-proprietary-borderless-Brightness-GW2480/dp/B072XCZSSW
i also recently purchased a laptop (ryzen 4600h, gtx 1650, hdmi). would OP's monitor or the one i just ordered be better for this, and will my laptop be able to utilize the higher refresh rate?
i imagine OP's monitor is better as the refresh rate is higher, but it's a TN panel and the one i ordered is IPS. once again, im not sure of the difference, but it seems people prefer IPS from what ive read?
could anyone help me out w/ their thoughts?
also @OP, does the monitor have any dead pixels, is it VESA mount-able, and does it come w/ an HDMI cable?
thanks in advance guys
Bro I recently I bought a monitor and realized if u r gonna buy one buy for next gen instead for the u have rn like at first I was gonna buy 4K 60hz but realized my lil brother gon buy ps5 so I bought 144hz 2k but if u r on pc I mean they r not any good gaming pc under 400 There is one around 750-800(Amazon) from acer or asus I don’t remember it’s 1920x1080 144hz, I would recommend frames over 4K There is also a pretty dope place in Dubai called computer plaza, the monitor I have on Amazon is for 2k but bought for 1500 from computer plaza
BenQ GW2480 24 Inch FHD 1080p Eye-Care LED Monitor, 1920x1080 Display, IPS ,Brightness Intelligence, Low Blue Light, Flicker-free, Ultra Slim Bezel, Cable Management System, HDMI https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3cGIFb17AVRR2
This one is pretty good but it’s for 420 and is 60hz but it’s upto u, If u wanna know more dm me
Honestly I would just try to get one for new for just a bit more.
This new BenQ 24", IPS 1080p monitor is only $120. I have a similar model and it looks great. It makes it very affordable to get a second or even third monitor.

Its tricky getting gaming pc gifts, so many peripherals that are comfortable/ optimal for different people. For the monitor, whats the budget? Seems like prices are all over right now. Since its just a secondary monitor, a non-gaming one is all that's needed. Something like this: BenQ GW2480 23. 8”. If you were to look for alternatives, office style should be enough, and just keep an eye on the "flicker free" stuff in specs (it reduces eye strain, turns into a lifesaver if you're sitting there for a few hours at a time).
This one should be good. And you can add a 3 year warranty for $20 https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-proprietary-borderless-Brightness-GW2480/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ips+monitor+under+200&qid=1596903711&sprefix=ips+monitor+under&sr=8-3
i’m currently looking for new monitors as they’re not the best for gaming but for i’ve used them for photo/video editing and they’ll do the job just fine for the price. i’d definitely look at getting something with a higher refresh rate if gaming is a priority
That looks good to me, probably overkill on the PSU but I guess it's worth it incase you plan on upgrading to a beefier GPU in the future.
I'd recommend following the vanilla guide linked in the about page on this sub, I tried following other guides I found while googling and they all sucked so hard, the vanilla install guide gives you all the info you need and all the correct kexts.
Also, that monitor is RIDICULOUSLY expensive for a 24 inch 1080p 60hz one. You could easily get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-proprietary-borderless-Brightness-GW2480/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=monitor+1080p&qid=1579667505&sr=8-4 for less than half the price, or get a bigger / higher resolution display if you're gonna spend $250 (I linked a monitor on Amazon as the newegg website kept redirecting me to the UK store as I'm from Ireland )
Oh yes I plan on mounting it so I will look out for that. Is this the one you got? Also does it have speakers? The page on Amazon is a little confusing on that and if so how do they sound? Also it's good to hear about colour quality.
1 ms response time does not matter and won’t do anything for 60hz refresh since the panel gets a new frame every 16ms. As long as the average response time is under this, then you’re fine. No need for a TN. Get an IPS with 4/5ms response time like this one i use for console gaming
Something like the BenQ GW2480 or GW2406, they are IPS panels with good input lag and are relatively cheap.
Also have a pretty useful low-motion blur mode (similar to their Zowie gaming monitors) and also things like built-in EyeCare bluelight filter that help with eyestrain.
And imho they look pretty good as well, have a small frame, non-gaudy design, a very good stand (of course also VESA mountable) and very slim bezels, even got a cover in the back that can hide your cables.
Usually they are below 150 dollars, which is a steal. I wouldn't bother with TN unless you buy a high refresh rate monitor in which case the lower input lag of TN and lower price might make sense.
The image quality between "low-end" IPS and TN at that price range is massive, TN will just look awful for the most part and give you no real benefits nor will you save much.
BenQ (GW2480) 24 Inch IPS 1080p Monitor, Ultra Slim Bezel, Low Blue Light, Flicker-free, Speakers, VESA ready, HDMI https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3BHbBbWJF4H4R
I just found this monitor that is IPS, but idk if I will mind it beoong 23.8 inches instead of 24 inches like the one I have now. Would .2 inches be that noticeable side by side?
i just bought this monitor for the same price but is this a better deal?
BenQ 24 Inch IPS Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OTGbEbTZ7WTGG
Since you are buying a computer that utilizes a Nvidia GPU, I would recommend going with a G-Sync compatible monitor to get the best out of the card, crunchbite82's options are okay, but neither use G-Sync, in fact the one on the bottom for $490 uses FreeSync - The AMD equivalent. For the most part, the monitor's response times can almost always be ignored, they aren't that important and the numbers aren't calculated with other system delays. Additionally, you would hardly notice a difference between 1ms response time and 5 ms response time and if you did, it most likely wouldn't have a big impact on anything.
I recommend this monitor if you are willing to pay the price (~$499 USD) It comes stock with 144Hz refresh at a delicious* 27 inche*s of* 2560x144*0 resolution on an* IP*S panel.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MTkwrH/acer-predator-xb1-270-2560x1440-165hz-monitor-umhx1aaa01
If you are looking for something cheaper or smaller, maybe try this one. It is 24 inches, does not support G-Sync (or FreeSync) but, because of those two facts, it comes at a much cheaper price (~$139 USD). This monitor's panel is also IPS like the previous one.

Some Side Notes:
IPS panels are said to be better at color reproduction and maintaining color at extreme viewing angles and are a little slower than their TN panel counterparts.
TN panels are cheaper and have faster response times, but without the benefits of the IPS.
Amazon links are really freakin' huge.
here are some links describing more in depth the difference between IPS and TN panels:

Hi! This was a but of a tricky one, because I needed to pick out a computer and monitor all around $600! After a bit of work, I was able to get it down to $607. This is the build I would recommend:
The CPU is powerful and will handle things like photoshop, word documents, and web browsing beautifully. The 16gb of ram will be good and can handle opening lots of tabs.In terms of boot times, an SSD will definitely help cut down on lag. It will reduce system, and application load times. The GPU is the least important, and will really just be used for monitor output.
For a monitor, I would recommend this one. It is color accurate, bright, and will be perfect to get your budget down to around 600.
If you want me to change anything, just comment back and I will be sure to help you out!
I really hope this helps! -Elliot
No problem man, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Z1TXEbACFDBJ0
This one is highly recommended and a good price.
Hi all,
I am selling our desktop computer and screens. One of the screens is a curved Samsung 24 inch FHD screen, the other a standard FHD monitor made by BENQ. Link to the desktop below that has all specs and information you may need, links to the monitors if you'd like to look them up yourself too. I am asking $400 for the whole lot OBO if that price is unreasonable, PC will be fully factory restored with all cables and will include HDMI cables etc. for the monitors as well, I just want rid of it:
Reason for sale: Moving abroad, it isn't coming with me

Just needs a decent 1080p monitor? https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-GW2480-Brightness-Intelligence-Flicker-Free/dp/B072XCZSSW
BenQ makes great stuff, and this monitor is solid. No bells and whistles though, just a 60hz panel.
From 100 aed to 350 you will barley reach a 1080p monitor. The cheapest 1080p i found was benq 24 inch for 450aed.
https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_9A2DP7A9D9RXB6DCSQ8G
if you decide to up your budget, this is a decent option. https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_QRS1XS40J7DHVDEHQM3H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'm a fan of this one.
HP omen27i for the main monitor. Ben Q 24inch for the secondary.
I’ve been really happy with this BenQ monitor
Budget: max 150euros
Usage: school (plugging in my laptop) and light gaming on Ps4, and a little bit of lightroom/photoshop photo editing
i identified to options that could work but am open to other suggestions.
1) BenQ GW2480 24inch ips 1080p
2) LG UM58 25 inch ultrawide 21:9
Im leaning towards the ultrawide as although its not ideal for PS4 which doesnt support ultrawide, at least it will be really useful for productivity. One negative i saw was that the stand was rly bad and it is rly short so i would have to get an aftermarket stand. In favour of the benq, it does all the simple things right and has speakers which means i would not need to buy any. However i would lose the ultrawide aspect
Hey pretty sure its this one just the 22 inch version: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BKSLFbRXY65H8
Amazon has the BenQ GW2480 for $130 (has display port and vesa mount) https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-GW2480-Brightness-Intelligence-Flicker-Free/dp/B072XCZSSW
Call the Bishop, these prices are sinful.

The monitor on the left is a BenQ 24in 60Hz and the middle/right one is a Sceptre 24in 75Hz
Is the BenQ GW2480 good for use just as a secondary monitor?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_al2BFbMB8KH64 on sale right now.
Hi, at this price point, I think that the BenQ GW2480 is always a good choice for a 1080p 24" display. For a 27" 1440p monitor, the ViewSonic VA2719 would be my recommendation.
Does this work? BenQ 24 Inch IPS Monitor | 1080P | Proprietary Eye-Care Tech | Ultra-Slim Bezel | Adaptive Brightness for Image Quality | Speakers | GW2480 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rVlkFbQQEP3A2

Chat, email and documents are really great in vertical/portrait. Reddit also, but there's a little bit of horizontal scroll sometimes.
Youtube is best in landscape. Since HD monitors are cheap these days, maybe get two on sale and have 2 auxillary monitors? For example, there's a 27" Dell monitor on sale for $110 but it doesn't have VESA.
There are many ways to arrange monitors, but I don't recommend two ultrawides side by side in landscape - too much head turning side to side.
I've always been partial to this setup.
These cheapo BenQ 23.8 in monitors for $99 each, lined up side to side, will be about 32 inches - about the horizontal width of your AW
I'd pick BenQ GW2480
why not BenQ GW2480? it's also 75hz IPS
You can try something like this BenQ 24 Inch IPS Monitor | 1080P | Proprietary Eye-Care Tech | Ultra-Slim Bezel | Adaptive Brightness for Image Quality | Speakers | GW2480 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.enHDbV5VZCDR
if you don't need a 144hz gaming monitor, I'd recommend BenQ GW2480. it's 24" IPS 75hz.
