Beyerdynamics MMX 300 Got them for 3 years now. Vest Headset i have ever had. beyerdynamic MMX 300 Premium geschlossener Over-Ear Gaming-Headset (2nd Generation) mit Mikrofon, geeigneter Kopfhörer für PS5 Konsole, XBOX Series X, PC, Notebook (schwarz) https://www.amazon.de/dp/B06WGVJ9GY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_1HESWY10NPQMGHWS812V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Not sure what your connection requirements are but the most comfortable and best sounding headset I've ever had is the Beyerdynamic MMX 300, it has 2 3.5mm jacks, one for mic and one for audio so make sure your setup supports that.
This is what Z says about the A40:

For the money, you could find something better. The Mix amp is "tuned" to cover the flaws in the headphone's audio quality. That means if you want better headphones OR electronics later on, you have to throw out the whole package. And neither one is any good to begin with.
Personally, I would suggest getting a USB mic so it's separate from the rest of your audio setup, That way you can select from a variety of quality audio products instead of limiting yourself to overpriced "gaming" gear that has to have a mic input. There's a whole world of options out there, so it will depend on the games you like to play (competitive FPS vs. more casual/cinematic games), what genres of music you listen to, if you want to watch movies, and what features and tuning options are important to you.
If you really just want it all in one package, this is probably your best bet:
The downside is the simple in-line controls, but the upsides are comfort and audio quality.
Go for any Studio quality headset with microphone.
Beyerdynamic, Audio-technica, marshall etc.
> Like the miniamp works with my el guitar which is what i got it for but not with the Beyerdynamics mmx 300s.
an electric guitar is a different kind of signal than a microphone.
microphones generate a very small voltage in the range of millivolts.
mics, in general, need to be plugged into something that has a microphone pre-amp built into it.
>It’s connected with one of those small aux to the big aux adapters.
aux is not a connector type, it is a function of an input or output, even though it is used that way in common parlence.

Are you referring to these? Looks like they are closed, and reviews are kind of in-between.

I understand. The only cord I have is for my keyboard and headphones, so the only cord I really have to deal with is headphone cord and mouse cord when I'm charging it (rarely)
Here are the headphones I use
And Here are the ones I would recommend for you since you don't need a mic. You shouldn't need a dac (I used mine for a long time without one) but I would highly suggest getting one in the future as the audio quality and volume are significantly better with a dac. Also the whole 7.1 virtual surround stuff is horseshit. These headphones have great directional sound stage.
Something like this might fit the bill from Sennheiser
https://drop.com/buy/drop-sennheiser-pc38x-gaming-headset
or a Beyerdynamic
Always check the prices. The savings can be Knight and day.

These have an excellent mic and are very good headphones. But not as good for pin pointing people like the tygr
Also that is a rough budget, stick around that but for example I could go to £230 ish if needed, I was looking at these ones too https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-Generation-Premium-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B06WGVJ9GY/ref=pd_ybh_a_25?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GT50JVCGPSMCSQEXP8TM
it sort of depends on your budget. you can get a really nice "gaming headset" like the beyerdynamic mmx300 but it is $350 https://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-Second-Generation-Multi-Media-Headset/dp/B06WGVJ9GY
that is a nice pair of real headphones with a mic already attached and not the typical "gaming" headset you would get from logitech or razer or whatever. beyerdynamic is a quality headphone company. logitech makes good mice and peripherals. they are not a headphone or audio company.
there is also the sennheiser game one, at $165. which like beyerdynamic is an actual headphone/audio company. so you are starting with a much better pair of headphones https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ONE-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00KK8ZLEC/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_23_tr_t_2
i own the mmx300 but no longer use them. they were great for years, but i wanted to switch to a pair of open headphones so i could better hear music playing while i was gaming. the mmx300 are closed so they isolate more. i switched to phillips fidelio x2 headphones with an antlion mod mic and it works great. the headphones are super comfortable and i can detach the mic easily when not needed. if you think you want to do anything else with the headphones other than gaming i would definitely recommend getting a good set of headphones and an attachable mic.
again, your budget for it sort of determines what would be recommended here.
