These are what I have, and I love them.
I would also suggest picking up a decent USB DAC to go with them. I ended up choosing a Creative Sound Blaster X3 since they fit my requirements of having easy switching between the headset and desktop speakers.
Budget- At most $200
Source- PC
Requirements for isolation- Some would be appreciated, but a lot is also fine.
Will you be using these headphones in public?- No
Preferred type- Full sized/over ear
Preferred tonal balance- No real preference
Past headphones- Steelseries Arctis 5(current), Corsair Void pro
Preferred music- I listen to pretty much anything, some genres I listen to a lot are: Metal, jpop, breakcore and electronic music.
What would you like to improve on from your set-up- Really I just want better sound quality for my music. Since I spend most of my time on rhythm games, I want to be able to better enjoy the music that comes with it.
Location- Not sure if this counts as United States, but I live in Puerto Rico
I was also looking at options on my own, the Beyerdynamic CUSTOM Game seemed like a good option.
Looks like they are, and the reviews look good for those.
They're almost twice as much as the 598Cs, maybe more if the 598Cs goes on sale for cyber monday. Is the difference in quality enough to spend the extra money?
I have the Beyerdynamic Custom Game. Very much recommended. Swapped in some velour pads and I find them very comfortable for long gaming sessions.

Okay, so on your motherboard, prone, laptop, any device that can play audio, it has some form of internal DAC. Problem is, their sorta cheap, and the main issue is that they add a good amount of weird shit to the sound because of interference in the PC. Especially for a gaming PC with a GPU in it. Sound cards are just as bad, speaking from experience lol. So, a generally good idea is to get an external DAC. Even if it's not a fancy one, it gets that work done away from all the other loud electronics and circuitry thingies. A DAC alone only outputs sound at a level that won't do for headphones (low power), so an external DAC is most times either a DAC/amp combo unit, made for speakers specifically, or made to be used alongside a standalone amp.
Honestly, you might not even need a more expensive setup of both a standalone DAC hooked up to a standalone amp, depending on what you buy. You can run some really powerful headphones through a cheap DAC/amp combo like the Fiio E10K. What headphones have you been looking at? It's probably a better idea to group up the things you find, and chose between those, instead of obsessing over finding the perfect one, as I do.
Edit: Beyerdynamic has some gaming "headsets" as well. These might be good options, but I'm not sure how they sound tonality wise.

heres some I found just thinking off the top of my head.
Head over to a Long&McQuades and demo a few pair if you can..

I am Canadian too, pricing sucks for us and you are just getting into range of good entry level headphones themselves at $150..
A decent set I'd look at are something like Beyerdynamic DT 770s but these go for $230 lately I believe and no microphone. If you need that maybe look at these guys...https://www.amazon.ca/beyerdynamic-CUSTOM-Interactive-Gaming-Headset/dp/B06WVHCLTP/ref=rtpb_14?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06WVHCLTP&pd_rd_r=413dc5b1-4b06-45cc-87aa-09630cd32168&pd_rd_w=iEBrL&pd_rd_wg=OFgGV&pf_rd_p=58c0ed5d-3d5a-4ea3-aeec-e7fc63182255&pf_rd_r=FHXWDFJJDXVKA6RJVQ32&psc=1&refRID=FHXWDFJJDXVKA6RJVQ32

beyerdynamic build quality and built for gamers.. durable, comfortable and mostly rebuidable.
If you want "rugged gaming headphones" that are "built to last", look no further than the Beyerdynamic Custom Game:
Goes for around $150 USD.
Beyerdynamic is (generally) known for their tank-like build quality, and this headphone is no exception.
Note: with big heads, they might be a bit of a squeeze, so if that's the case for you, I suggest putting a couple of books in-between the headphones for a day or 2 (they're solidly built, and can take the pressure easily).
------------
If you need durable & rugged (but not quite Beyerdynamic levels of rugged), try out the Sennheiser GSP 500 -- from all accounts, it's pretty durable, and has good sound quality (somewhat better than Game One/PC 37x).
Goes for around $130 USD.
order from amazon.de, and just pay the 3.50 euro for shipping.
PS since it is over 30euro you get free delivery.
