I decided to buy this stem and remove one of the rings with a dremel then stack it on top of the actual stem. Need to finish some house projects for the lady before I'm allowed to play with bikes. I'll report back if it works.

So my entry level hard tail basically has a road bike stem on it. I feel like the fulcrum of my arms/hands is way over the front tire. Is it worth buying a short reach stem for more technical riding/jumping?
I keep this on my list as a potential add on item but haven't wanted to pull the trigger because of the price. I don't ride that hard, will this stem improve the feel of my bike? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071YV77R7/
Here’s a 45mm stem that’s pretty commonly used for this: 45mm

I have one, no problems. $11.
That can be found for $10 on Amazon
Switch that out ASAP before you get hurt. No joke, cheap parts like that, especially ones that take a lot of stress, can shear. And your face is going right on that aluminum stem, which, unless you're wearing a full-face, can break your jaw. You can get something like a Funn or a Hussefelt for around $40 and they're better and waaaaaay safer.
Absolutely. Anyone who says otherwise is either new to mountain biking themselves or a bit of a weenie.
If you want to modernize it a bit you can swap on a shorter stem and wider handlebars. For the sort of terrain that bike is best for, the cheap Wake stems and Jessica Acekit handlebars, both from Amazon should be sufficient. You may need some headset spacers as well. That would change up the feel of the bike and make it more playful for about $40.
Also if you haven’t found it P setting 12 is the one that lets you set your acceleration between one and five. P setting eight is the one that lets you set your power between 25 and 100. If you set the P setting number eight to around 65 this should limit the top speed of gear 2 to around 25 mph you can play around with this to get it to go to the top speed that you like.
They’re basically available on Amazon. So for around 50 bucks it’s a pretty cheap and decent upgrade. It is also usually pretty easy to install. I do recommend you remove the handle bar and remove the components on the handle bar and place them onto the new one while it is removed from the stem. This makes sure you have enough give on the wires to make sure you don’t pull anything out. I can link below from Amazon the parts that should work as replacements. I have linked the stem riser but you may not need it for yours since this handlebar does raise a bit. You can also adjust how much of the riser that you use by adjusting the spacers. I only used about a spacers worth on mine but I am also taller at 6 foot two. So you may end up needing the minimum of the spacer or not needed at all depending on your height. It’s honestly very cheap to buy and you or you can return it if you don’t need it so I usually think it’s worth buying to try out and if you end up not using it then it’s no big loss. I would also highly recommend that you buy a good set of Allen keys. Sometimes the ones that come with the scooter or not very high-quality and you could strip some of the smaller bolts on the scooter if you’re not careful. The procedure to replace these parts is very simple. If you look on YouTube how to replace mountain bike stem or mountain bike handlebar and the process is exactly the same. If you decide to order the parts and have trouble just shoot me a message and I’ll be happy to help you figure it out. it’s very simple. good luck.
https://imgur.com/a/BO75cZd/ For setupI would also recommend if you haven’t that you place your finger throttle almost parallel with the handlebars like I showed in the picture. This will let you use the handlebars much more comfortably and it is a much better position to place the throttle for stability and comfort while riding. I also recommend that you place your brake levers at about a 40° angle from the handlebar.
This is the same as you would do on a mountain bike and it provides much better leverage when pulling on the brake levers. If you have the zoom hydraulic brakes then you may have to place your display about one thumbs distance from the brake lever where it attaches to the handlebar this will give you enough rooms at the finger struggle does not hit your brake lever. If you need any tips on setting up your handlebars let me know.
